One can be an advocate for women’s rights to be equal to men’s (in aspects where women get discriminated) and simultaneously downplay men’s rights issues and pretend they don’t exist in aspects where men have it worse. She is still a feminist according to the definition because she advocates women’s rights to be equal to men’s. Feminism is not completely synonymous with equality. fem·i·nism /ˈfeməˌnizəm/ noun the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. Feminism isn’t for men’s rights. Some feminists fight for men’s rights also but that does not mean it’s part of feminism.
