I think it’s a combination of nature and nurture. I’m sure there are therapists who specialize in helping men like you. I’m not recommending you get therapy because it’s fun. I’m recommending it so you minimize the chances of inflicting serious harm.

Seek therapy.

No idea what percent have the capacity. Could that capacity change? Probably. I think some men may be more inclined biologically, but as with all things it’s a combination of nature and nurture. What I know for sure is that any man who commits rape had that capacity.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 09:49 PM
3

If a man doesn’t have the capacity to rape his wife, then he won’t rape his wife. That’s a fact. Not sure what you mean by “other factors”. There are a zillion causal factors for every single thing that happens, who cares? Unless your saying the women are to blame for being raped because they didn’t… agree to have sex they didn’t want

I don’t necessarily think people give up too easily. But yeah spouses should try to work through most conflicts, including sexual incompatibility. If it doesn’t work then at some point it’s time to throw in the towel
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:07 PM
1

It’s an unfortunate situation. Spouses should try to cultivate a sex life that is acceptable to both. But sometimes that’s not possible and divorce is right choice.

Like I said the ask-pay rule works fine for plenty of gay people. Don’t see why applying that rule to straight people suddenly becomes “you want men to pay”. The rule makes the same amount of sense in both cases. I’m not saying your mad women aren’t asking YOU out specifically, but yeah I do think your mad that men have to do more pursuing which includes paying for dates and so on.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:30 PM
1

Why do you think I’d be surprised by that? I’m sure arranged marriages involve consideration of lots of factors.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:25 PM
1

That’s still a very young relationship. The first breakup is the hardest to do because you can’t see the other side, but I promise you life goes on for both of you. She’ll get over the breakup and so will you.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 05:15 AM
5

You can tell her that you don’t see the relationship leading to marriage, and you know that’s something she wants so you don’t want to lead her on.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 05:10 AM
1

Some arranged marriages work out fine. If that’s appealing to you, go for it. It already exists and doesn’t require curtailing other people’s sexual freedom. Dating is working fine. People can divorce in your scenario? Sounds like you’re just adding a lot of unnecessary paperwork. People will pick somebody without dating or having sex, then if that doesn’t work they’ll divorce and pick somebody new.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 05:04 AM
2

You’re not that happy since you’re on here talking to us about how not in love you are. Also your feelings aren’t the only ones that matter. Would she still want to be with you if she knew the truth? I sure wouldn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 04:52 AM
1

The data doesn’t totally contradict you, that wasn’t my goal, but it paints a more complicated picture. I wouldn’t say women’s racial preferences are “homogenous” when Black women and Asian women have exactly opposite preferences.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 04:28 AM
5

Yes, all women love serial killers and bad boys are the gateway drug
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 02:27 AM

And all along I thought the PPD consensus was that men will fuck any and all women lol
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:41 AM
1

I’ve always been willing to go Dutch on dates. But I still think the ask-pay rule is perfectly reasonable. I know some gay people use it too so it’s not just here to persecute the mens lol
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:28 AM
1

It’s only dishonest if she isn’t willing to pay when she does the asking.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:22 AM
1

Most of the time but not all of the time. As long as women who subscribe to this are willing to pay when they do the asking, I see no problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:20 AM
1

Yeah, like I thought. The rule says that whoever asks pays. If women asked more, you wouldn’t have a problem with the rule. Because women don’t ask as much, you think it’s unfair.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:19 AM
3

People can date whoever they want, but I can’t wait until I don’t have to worry about fertility anymore. It’s such a drag.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:17 AM
2

Fertility? Ewww
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 01:00 AM
1

Maybe I made a wrong assumption about your position. I’ll ask a question that may clarify. Why do you think saying that “the person who asks for the date should pay” really means “the man should pay”?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 12:56 AM
0

Or… it’s wanting the person who asks to pay. What’s stupid about that? Seems like a perfectly fine convention. What you’re mad about is the fact that women don’t ask men out more often.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 12:51 AM
0

What if you want the person who suggested the date to pay, what do you say then?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 12:44 AM
0

If you want the person who asks to pay, how is that not saying what you mean? Fwiw I think it’s funny when men try to convince women they should always go dutch. If you succeed, it will just make those women even pickier about going on dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 12:41 AM
1

I know. It applies to any man who doesn’t want to pay for his dates meal.

Not sure that’s quite right. The OkCupid data showed that women held strong in-group bias but had different biases about other groups (Asian women and black women were the exact reverse of each other in their order of preference). https://medium.com/the-post-grad-survival-guide/okcupids-dataset-reveals-inequalities-in-dating-51a7a36e2d84

Dating is how you pick the person you want to stay with long term. Without it, good luck finding that happy, sexually fulfilling marriage your dreaming of. Might as well get an arranged marriage at that point. Also your comparing the sex lives of married people who had sexual freedom before and can get divorced if they’re unhappy, to marriage in your dystopian world where people repressed their sexuality until marriage and are basically stuck with their spouse even if things are shitty.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:13 PM

Lol as Slipthe pointed out, individual men and women contribute to varying degrees. If you’re so concerned about tying voting to “productively and sacrifice” then just make it so only people who pay a certain amount of taxes or serve in the military get to vote. Easy. But you don’t really want that do you. You just want to disenfranchise women 😂

Beta bux in the sense that you’re sacrificing sexual fulfillment in the name of marriage and money. Sounds like a recipe for dwindling sexual satisfaction, all to save/get more money. What’s more beta bux than that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 01:41 PM

Beta Bux for all lmao. Also “saving money” should not be a goal of humanity since money is just a means of facilitating commerce.

Why is that obvious? I’m not trolling, just trying to understand what info you have and what is unknown. You’re sure it was with an ex, not during masturbation? Or has she done both? As other have pointed out, she may or may not be able to tell you what works depending on how exactly it happened.

I’d start by trying to make sure he’s well-socialized, physically fit, high achieving, has a sense of self-worth, and doesn’t suffer fools or shitty people. If he internalizes the importance of those things, I doubt he’ll be coming to me asking for dating advice. But if he did struggle and wanted my advice, I’d tell why I thought he was struggling and if/how I think he could improve.

Dictionaries and thesauruses serve different purposes. One specializes in synonyms.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 08:28 PM

I wasn’t even talking about anybody specific 😂. It was an abstract comment about mediocre people which I’ve now learned is a slur for average people.

Lmao I took this as a joke but apparently my comment was actually controversial 😬🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 08:15 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 08:12 PM

“Connotation”? That’s a word used by pompous people not humble little meeeee But in all seriousness, you didn’t like my shitpost I get it.

Mediocre is a synonym for average. And you are taking my shitposting way to seriously lol

Eww don’t be gross. He wandered in the desert for 40 days 🏜 ☀️🥵
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 07:58 PM

TIL that “mediocre” is an offense way to refer to average looking people. My sincerest apologies to the average-looking community. I’ll educate myself and do better in the future 🙏😞
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 07:55 PM

Ooh jesus was soooo hot 🥵
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 07:50 PM

My OP was about mediocre people. Are you saying I’m mediocre now?!?!?? 😡😤
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 07:49 PM

Then why do you keep talking about it? Hmmmm?!?!
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 07:47 PM

Aww you think I’m beautiful? 🥰
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/22 07:44 PM

Being mediocre looking does not make a person inherently virtuous. Pass it on.

Wrong if my dad didn’t want me I literally wouldn’t be here because there’s this thing called contraception. Unplanned pregnancies happen of course, but if that happened it would be some other kid getting born not me.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 11:04 PM
2

Don’t know who said that. But it is literally true.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 10:52 PM

Do you know how many men complain about their shitty ex girlfriends? Including here on this very forum?!!?!
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 10:47 PM

That’s true of all planned pregnancies. If my parents didn’t decide to have kids I literally wouldn’t exist.

Some date assholes, others date nice guys and treat them like doormats.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 10:28 PM

So you think hot but mean women struggle to date? Lol they do not.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 10:25 PM

The hot one texted me and we talked for a while but never met up. The average looking one never texted me.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 10:22 PM

Good for you. A lot of women date shitty people. A lot of men date shitty people. There are a lot of shitty people.

Lol when certain people say that they just mean a {} woman with a tan

You know the drill he can’t say it outright so he said it in code
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 09:19 PM
2

I wanted clarification about what he was asking. I initially didn’t think he was asking something as simple as “how do I get a social life” but given his reaction to my attempt to clarify I think he was…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 08:47 PM
1

Why would you need to live nearby?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 08:30 PM
3

Man, this guy really asked me how to get a social life then accused me of being a troll 😂. The kids are not alright.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 08:23 PM
1

I don’t understand. Are you asking me how to have a social life?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 08:12 PM
1

The lack of any strengths or any specific type of woman your looking for means you need to cast a broad net (also consider self improvement). Cultivate an active social life that allows you to meet a lot of women, make friends with extroverts who like to organize events and can introduce you to people, consider getting a dog and using that to meet people.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 07:46 PM
2

Gave my number out twice. In both cases the guy was friendly and struck up a casual conversation about the situation we happened to be in, no aggressive flirting. Conversation flowed easily and they were funny and engaging, but not acting like it was a big deal. One guy was hot, I’d say an 8. The other was so-so, probably a 5.5 or 6. I did not give either one a signal to approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 07:23 PM
1

Depends on what your strengths are, and also what kind of women your looking for.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 07:00 PM
1

Not sure how many relationships are happening based on cold approach to be honest? But I agree that cold approach will focus attention on appearance (since they don’t know you), but even there you have the chance to engage in real life conversation and show off any charisma.

Instagram and Twitter are not online dating applications, so no I’m not talking about them. From what I hear Facebook dating is garbage and I don’t know anybody who’s seriously uses it, maybe that’s a different situation I dunno.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 06:42 PM
1

Who said women are “only superficial on Tinder”? I’m saying it tends to attract more superficial people. And the platform is designed so you will be judged based on looks first and foremost. If looks aren’t your strong suit, then it’s a particular bad platform for you. Does that make everything else “easy”? Not necessarily, but better to play to your strengths rather than your weaknesses.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 06:33 PM
2

Never said dating IRL was easy. Who told you that? Achieving good things in life often takes work. Dating apps lie and tell you it is easy if you use the apps, then they get you hooked by giving you dopamine hits from swiping and matching.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 04:30 PM
3

Do you disagree with what I said? Bars aren’t just for dating and sex so it’s a more complicated picture. Some people are there looking for that and some people aren’t. Ladies nights are used because bars know men will pay good coin for the chance to get laid, hardly ground breaking news. Some men will also pay straight of prostitutes to get sex. Also not news.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 04:15 PM
3

Straight women go in OLD looking for men. Straight men go on OLD looking for women. Without either men or women, there is no OLD for straight people.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 04:07 PM
4

How is that a counterpoint? I said some people are shitty. You’d seem to agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 03:52 PM
2

Are you familiar with the concept of selection bias? Tinder attracts people who want to primarily filter based on looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 03:51 PM
2

Looking for a woman who doesn’t prioritize appearance on Tinder is like looking for a vegan at at a steakhouse
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 03:30 PM
2

Aren’t you saying women should act less superficial? I understood that to be your preference.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 03:16 PM
2

So you agree that the kinds of women your interested in probably aren’t using Tinder because they are seeking out connection IRL?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:55 PM
6

Everything is absolutely not ok and the world is full of shit. What does that have to do with a happily married couple being happily married?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:55 PM
2

I’m not disagreeing. Dating apps serve their own interests, not yours. And their interest is to keep you hooked.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:52 PM
2

Then do chat roulette lmao. Also it’s not hard to meet people IRL. And there are a lot of better IRL venues to select for somebody who is actually compatible with you than swiping random dudes on Tinder.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:49 PM
5

So what you want is for women to set up a Tinder account, ignore attractive men, and intentionally swipe on less attractive men? Why would a woman who doesn’t care about appearance go on Tinder at all 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:46 PM
2

Yeah I agree that some men on there are looking for relationships. I’m talking about Tinder’s strategy in designing an app that allows men to look at a bunch of pictures of women and swipe based on who they find attractive, which appeals to the thirst. Tinder just wants to keep you swiping and using the app that’s all.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:44 PM
3

Yup. Because they want to keep thirsty dudes on the hook and they are succeeding.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:32 PM
1

So you just want women to swipe on more men? Then they’ll have less time to spend on each man they match with, which is counterproductive to getting to know them.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:31 PM
5

People really go on swiping apps like Tinder then act shocked that their being judged based on looks. That’s the premise of the app bro.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:28 PM
7

You have to swipe first BEFORE you know the person, just based on a photo and a shitty little profile. That’s the way the app is structured.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:24 PM
8

The medium of online dating inherently focuses attention on appearance. You cannot get to know a persons personality through a dating app. Don’t go on a swipe based app and then act surprised that people focus on looks—that’s who and what the apps are for.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:16 PM

Which advice specifically helped you?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:14 PM

Fool their husbands by behaving like a loyal and loving wife and making him happy? The horror! Make it stop!
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:13 PM
8

It also shows that men don’t have a monopoly on being shitty. There’s are racist women AND racist men. There are women who abuse children or turn a blind eye to abuse AND men who do that.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 02:08 PM

Yeah I truly have no idea what expensive watches look like
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 08:00 PM

If you were her only side piece would that change your mind?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:52 PM
1

Doesn’t that usually involve the husband being present somehow?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:51 PM
1

Huh I’ve never heard of a husband pressuring his wife to get a side piece before but I guess it’s possible
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:49 PM
1

Why do you prefer the cheating version to the open relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:47 PM

I’m happy about the loan forgiveness even though it doesn’t help me

What kind of scenarios would work for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:42 PM
2

Right on one count
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:36 PM
5

Can’t speak for other women. Mine did dwindle in a past relationship (but hasn’t with my husband). Reason was my sexual interests not being satisfied and problems in the relationship interfering with our emotional connection.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:32 PM

I have 2 No and 1 Yes so far!

Q4M: Would you be the side piece for a woman in an open marriage assuming you’re attracted to her?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:20 PM
0

How dare you 😠
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 04:12 PM
2

Happens in relationships too, I know of at least 3 cases.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 03:30 PM
2

What do you mean there’s a lot of grey area around consent? There doesn’t need to be. As for somebody giving consent then lying about it afterward, that’s possible but not common as far as I understand. Unfortunately there are some risks that you can’t completely avoid and that’s true for both men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 03:05 PM

Getting that body is easy with photoshops 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/22 03:20 AM

Now? Who knows. Back when we dated, option 1. I ticked their boxes and they each considered me a “catch”.
