That’s something I think a lot of people are forgetting. Parenthood doesn’t end at 18. You have to look forward to that child’s adult life and all their accomplishments (graduation, marriage, kids, etc) and having to see your ex at all of them.

Crazy because I normally answer the door if it’s still daylight out, so now I’ll be taking extra precaution.

A really hot guy was interested in me, he had a really great six-figure job where he was his own boss, he had his own apartment, which was really clean, and a really nice truck. But all he wanted to do was hook up with me and take me out drinking. Before FDS, I would have 100% taken him up on the offer because I would be thinking that one day it would lead to a relationship. But after FDS, I realize this is not how myself or any woman should be treated, like we are just some object he can use or…

I sometimes find myself having these thoughts. Especially being 27 with a good job and masters degree. I was in a horrible relationship for six years in my early 20s and came on to reddit to find that my experience was not alone, majority of men are trash. I don’t have the strength or will to keep trying so I’ve kind of resigned to the fact that I’m probably never getting married. Now having kids, this is some thing I’ve gone back-and-forth on for years now. I think if it comes down to it I’ll p…

Yep, I always asked my ex if he acted this way at work when something didn’t go his way or something upset him but nope…. But was perfectly fine destroying our house and laying his hands on me behind closed doors

Same thing happened to me the one time I called the cops on my abusive ex. He did everything BUT punch me so they didn’t do anything. Insane.

I just had this argument with my mom the other day and it got really really ugly. I’m 27 and I’m sick of being a part of my parents nonsense when it comes to them just up and marrying whoever they feel like. My mom has been married 9 times and my dad is coming up on his 6th marriage. I don’t care to meet their significant others anymore or be a part of the circus. I told my mom by her picking piece of shit man to be in my life that has deeply impacted the way I act around men today. She told me …

Pass my final certification test I need for my masters degree, graduating Fall 2021. Work on different hairstyles for when I return to work in person for the fall. I dyed my hair back to my natural color recently and want to stop relying on hair color (I had a baylage) to make my hair “pretty” and instead want to change up my actual hairstyle with different braids/ponytails/accessories, if that makes sense (less damaging and better for the wallet) Want to get back in a consistent exercise routin…

Also, hopping on this comment. My ex boyfriend of six years got tested in the beginning but found out later in the relationship that he was cheating on me throughout the years and I didn’t get tested (after the initial test) because I thought I was in a committed relationship. Even in a committed relationship, even married, I will continuously get STD tested throughout my life because you can never really be sure about someone

Interesting, so basically it’s saying that having a father in the home who is a LVM is worse than having no father in the home at all. As the oldest daughter, I had the most time with my father in the home before my parents divorced versus my sisters and I’m definitely more promiscuous and have had more sexual partners and my view of men in general is lower than them. So this article is saying that if your husband or a child’s father is an LVM, it’s better for the kids to leave and be a single p…

THIS!!!! Literally all these modern rom-coms make them think the loser can get the hot girl. It’s literally being played out right before my eyes and when he’s rejected idk what kind of retaliation will happen. That’s why I made up the fake boyfriend- because men respect this made up person more than me just straight up saying no because I DONT WANT TO.

Literally this exact thing happened to my family when my paternal grandmother passed. I had a huge family with 20+ cousins that got together every Thanksgiving and Christmas at my grandmothers house and I literally haven’t seen them since her funeral eight years ago.

Side story real quick. My ex-boyfriend used social media religiously and would post me all the time for the six years we were together. That didn’t stop him from cheating on me with girls he found off social media. Pickmeishas don’t care and sometimes it even fuels them if the guy has a bunch of pictures with his girlfriend.

I literally just got into a fight with an ex friend last week about this. He’s 35 years old and he has his dating preferences set to the ages of 25 to 33 on tinder. When I asked him why he was trying to get a girl 10 years younger than him when his goals are to get married soon and have kids and that’s not what 25-year-olds are interested in he told me “because I am attractive”.... this dude is completely delusional. He’s balding, has a potbelly and his teeth are fucked up. Needless to say that …

Five years into our relationship with my ex-boyfriend I got an abortion. I chose to take the pill at home. About five hours after the second pill I started cramping and bleeding heavily, going through a miscarriage. It was 5 o’clock in the morning and he had to work the next day and told me to shut up and close the door. Good to know there’s actual good men out there.

Thank you for this. I’m 2 months out of a 6 year relationship with an abusive, cheating, narcissistic LVM. For the most part I had been wallowing in self-pity, but that’s going to stop. I have so far made an appointment with a therapist and started back on my antidepressants as well. I’ve also starting to reconnect with old girlfriends. I need to be more aggressive with my skin care and fitness regimes and start making solid goals for my future. This comment is going to hold me accountable and I…

This is something my ex always bitched about because he wanted time to “make music” and I needed to understand that his hobbies came first. We were together 6 years and I was never the priority and I would literally be labeled a devil if I took time away from his hobbies.

I think it’s disrespectful to message me thinking I’d be okay sleeping with him while he’s married. I dont care if he’s in an open relationship (if that’s what the case was). I would never sleep with someone whos involved with someone else in any capacity.

And the wife should be aware. Just because I said no doesn’t mean another girl won’t and he’s possibly exposing her to STDs. She needs to know the truth.

You’re the same type of person that blames a girl getting raped because she dresses a certain way. Again, if he can’t control himself he shouldn’t be following me. I’m allowed to post whatever I want. They are not nudes, not even close. And even if they were it’s still victim-blaming and excusing the man for what he did. I’m not in a relationship I don’t have loyalty to anyone. He’s married, he shouldn’t be asking me what I’m up to at 2 o’clock in the morning when I’m his ex-girlfriend.

Agreed. I’m thankful I got out relatively unhurt- no kids, no marriage and still have my house and awesome job and I only just turned 26. Spent 6 years with a narc LVM but the lessons I learned were priceless. I’m thankful and feel for others who lost so much to these POS.

My ex just dumped me 3 weeks ago after 6 years together basically thinking the same thing, “why should I stay in this relationship when SO MANY other women are out there that I could sleep with” I have no idea where these thoughts came from- I checked his DMs not too long ago and he was sending tons of girls messages but literally every single one left him on read or just didn’t reply lol like where are they getting these thoughts from that ALL these women are out there want them?? From my experience, there is no true commitment if you’re a forever girlfriend. My ex would always threaten to leave me at any fights and was more inclined to talk to other girls because we weren’t married and he always said he “wasn’t sure about us”... basically if we were married all of the excuses he made about his actions would be invalid And we were together 6 years

I learned my lesson a long time ago to not talk about my relationship problems outside of the relationship. No one understands totally what’s going on inside the relationship other than you and your partner and when you tell other people snippets of disagreements or fights between you and your spouse, your painting a one-sided or negative view of them... and it’s sooo hard to change other people’s opinions once they are set. I tell my friends one fight between myself and my boyfriend of course t…

Noooo fucking wayyyyy. I was in a semi-similar situation, literally a couple weeks ago. My (ex) boyfriend was friends with this couple before we met. We had hung out with them several times and I became really close with the girlfriend and the guy became my main tattoo artist. Well last weekend, myself and my boyfriend drove to their house (in another city about 2 hours away) to get tattoos and hangout. I thought everything was fine and normal. I think OP is referring to thot pics which is what I was referring to. Obviously if he has a female friend whose posting pictures of nature or whatever then no I’m obviously not going to be mad.

It’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Especially if the girl is local and he’ll possibly interact with her outside of Instagram. Liking insta models pictures isn’t too much a big deal especially when she has thousands of likes. When it gets personal is when it really bothers me. Edit: to make it clear- liking ANY thot picture bothers me but if he KNOWS the girl and can interact with her and she’ll reply or he’ll see her IRL then it’s going to bother me a HELL of a lot more than random IG models.

I have a normally male gendered name and in emails I have always been treated highly and with respect, then after those emails when I go and meet the person face to face the first reaction is “Oh I thought you were going to be a man?” Um what difference does it make?
