while I agree that many women exhibit toxic femininity, it's not the same thing-- aggressive women is not "feminine". That just being a bitch. Aggressive men who talk down to women, or boys who they want to "toughen up" are exhibiting typical masculine behaviors that are "toxic" because they emotionally injure others. women who might exhibit toxic femininity use typically feminine behaviors to injure others-- whether that's being passive-aggressive, or withholding sex, or for an example in the e…

Toxic masculinity is absolutely a problem in our Western (American) culture-- and to lesser degrees in European or Asian cultures. Just because a term doesn't apply to you doesn't mean that you can deny the existence for others. If you're a gamer and have a healthy life outside of your online games, why get upset when someone goes on about "loser incels"? Yes, the term loser incel may be offensive to a loser incel, but for the vast majority of gamers who are not, why should they be upset, and de…

my mom did the same, but I was totally a believer and in my mom's camp and shut my dad off (this was in the 70's-80's). It wasn't until I was 50 yrs old and he was almost 80 that I began to redevelop a relationship with him. My own kids are now teenagers and they have completely bought their mother's narrative about me, and they believe that I don't deserve respect-- because I came out gay and left our former church. I fear that my kids won't realize what happened until they're in their 30's and…

yes. and I've petitioned the court numerous times and while some of judges orders were helpful, most were ignored by her and then unenforced by the cops or by the judge when I got back into court.

welcome to the inglorious bastards club-- I haven't had a relationship with my kids for the last 4 yrs. It has hurt a ton, especially when my 12 yr old tells me he hates me and spouts the same ugly things I've heard his mother say about me.

put your head up high, love the kids, teach them--- but don't touch them, lol. And I hope you never go through what I've been through!!!

it's also impossible for those of us who've been falsely accused of pedophilia to clear our reputation with employers, and even some family and friends-- once those allegations have been leveled. It's destroyed my life; left me bankrupt trying to defend myself in court.

dude, I'm so sorry! As a rape victim, I know what you're going thru completely. ifyou're not able to find somewhere you feel safe, or someone to talk to, keep coming here to this subreddit. You're understood! And it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Some women are just as mean, selfish, and aggressive as some men are. Don't let her vulgar behavior define you. You're still a man, and you have the right to say no!! Wishing you a night of calm and comfort so you can sleep and move on.

I'm happy for you, but in your case, custody was reversed because you showed that she was "unfit" (you didn't provide the details, but by statute there's very specific criteria). Sadly, the judges here don't include the "parental alienation" as a criteria for fitness, despite the statute that requires the judge to award custody to the parent who will best ensure a relationship with the other parent. I'm also in Weber 2nd district, and after 12 yrs, I have been screwed by the Judge, the Commissio…

This makes me so f***ing sad and angry at the same time. I haven't seen my son in a year or my daughter in 7 months. They've been completely brainwashed into their mother's world view and so they won't talk to me, respond to my texts, e-mails, phone calls. My heart has been broken, and this is after a 12 yr custody battle, that I can no longer afford to keep up. I fear the same thing happening to me, and grieving the loss of their relationship is literally killing me. I want to die. I live in Ut…

dude, you just re-counted almost exactly my story!! I'm so angry at my ex-wife right now-- but now I'm angry at yours, too! And I'm angry at the Court, the GAL, the Special Master, the kids' counselors, and many of the extended family who are too apathetic to help right these wrongs. Having lost my relationship with my kids has broken my heart!!

OP-- you are right on, and you managed to be civil and articulate with this woman. I do understand feminist positions, like you, but I don't appreciate the militancy when they don't even see their own hypocrisy. Equality doesn't mean women get some special rights to compensate for a history of being 2nd class. As a white man who has been raped, who has lost a job because the other candidate was a black female, and who has lost rights to my kids simply because judges in this country still think t…
