Then male grades should equal or surpass female grades in University, when exams are often the only grade points and in STEM courses very clearly objective. Why did females continue to out perform? Edit: also that article you linked doesn't have citations for some things, and misrepresentation the findings of papers it does cite. You don't seem to understand basic math :( So, let's look at this from an example of proportionate representation. If Jews make up 2% of scientists, we'd expect they'd make up ~2% of Nobel prize winners. However, Jews account for far, far more than 2% of Nobel prize winners despite the ratio of Jewish scientists to none-Jewish scientists. Everyone seems to forget about the massive contributions to biochemistry and biology that women have made - enzyme kinetics wouldn't be what it is without a woman, and we wouldn't have endosymbiosis theory without a woman. Female applicants to Uni outnumber male applicants and have better GPA and ACT/SAT scores. In all subjects in Unis in the US, female students get better grades (this includes STEM degrees - of course grades dont' necessarily reflect how smart someone is or how much they've learned). Most men are not scientifically minded either, and women now dominate biology and chemistry at the grad and undergrad level. So, I don't think there's really a "gap" in women in science at all. I followed this link from another subreddit and thought I'd point out that FAS happens when (large amounts) of alcohol are ingested during the 1st trimester. 2nd and 3rd trimester drinking don't have much of a link to anything at all really.
