Fuck Newsweek.I'm sure there is a double standard. I'm sure there is unjustice. I'm sure that others would argue that there is unjustice in the other direction. I'm sure that that is a shame. I wish for the world to be better, for there to be less suffering. I hope I work for making things better. All of this is not for debate, from my perspective. My question was, should I be offended? Since I gather that you are affirming that I should indeed be offended, my next question is: Why should I be offended? | /r/MensRights | 14/12/17 07:56 AM

In reality, it's white, urban, cis, heterosexual, christian (but non-fundamentalist), well-educated, pro-feminism (but not exactly feminist), pro-choice (but not exactly anti-life), somewht leftist (but not too much), brown-eyed and brown-haired (but not long-haired), non-freckled males between 1.80m and 1.85m around 82.3kg, from 22 to 24 years of age who are single, have no kids and have a good job, drink socially, don't smoke, are slightly into yog… | /r/MensRights | 14/05/17 02:51 PM |
We are making headway! Cross post from r/auatraliaTbh I can see the need for some discreet way of saying something like that. You might have to do it in front of the person you want to get away from. But then, you can never make sure that the purported offender won't know the code as well, so the whole thing is kind of self-defeating in any case. | /r/MensRights | 12/05/17 07:18 AM

"Manspreading" has found its match in what I call "Bagspreading"Oh and, by the way, I still think that it is extremely uncouth to put photos of strangers on the internet in order to expose their behaviour in a rant. I'm oldfashioned that way. One could take the time to blur out their faces, you know, it takes like 2 minutes. | /r/MensRights | 20/04/17 06:39 AM
"Manspreading" has found its match in what I call "Bagspreading"Um. Where I live, people do this all the time. You just walk up, smile at them politely and say something like "excuse me", and they'll happily put their bag on their own lap, thus solving the issue. Most of the time, they react before you can even say a word. | /r/MensRights | 20/04/17 06:37 AM
I recently watched The Red Pill. As a male who had an abusive girlfriend in college, this quote really struck a nerve.Well, we shall always have Tiresias. I will forever find it extremely fascinating that the one thing -- THE ONE THING!!! -- that those ancient greeks asked him after the whole thing was, who experiences more sexual lust? ... I mean.... they tell us WHE are the depraved generation? Seriously??? :-) | /r/MensRights | 10/04/17 07:17 PM
I recently watched The Red Pill. As a male who had an abusive girlfriend in college, this quote really struck a nerve.Just based on my very broad statement, it could really be almost anything. I just think that someone who actually goes through with a complete gender-reassignment, possibly m-f, just because they think it would give them more privilege, might be interesting to explore. | /r/MensRights | 10/04/17 06:24 PM
I recently watched The Red Pill. As a male who had an abusive girlfriend in college, this quote really struck a nerve. Its not about gaining or losing privilege. Oh dear, that's actually a fairly good premise for some short story or something. | /r/MensRights | 10/04/17 10:58 AM

TIL feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" celebrates the statutorily rape of a 13 year old girl by a 24-year-old woman, describing it as a "positive, healing experience" and a "good rape".Yeah, I guess if we really wanted to go into this, we'd first have to discuss our definition of "strong", but frankly I'm not up to that now. | /r/MensRights | 22/02/17 10:42 AM
TIL feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" celebrates the statutorily rape of a 13 year old girl by a 24-year-old woman, describing it as a "positive, healing experience" and a "good rape".Well, that doesn't tell us anything about how strong it was. | /r/MensRights | 22/02/17 07:56 AM

TIL feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" celebrates the statutorily rape of a 13 year old girl by a 24-year-old woman, describing it as a "positive, healing experience" and a "good rape".Specifically, I cannot recall instances of officials being fired for stuff like that from back around 2000. I guess the first time I remember I heard stuff like that must have been between 2005 and 2010. | /r/MensRights | 21/02/17 01:05 PM
TIL feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" celebrates the statutorily rape of a 13 year old girl by a 24-year-old woman, describing it as a "positive, healing experience" and a "good rape".Well yes, maybe. It's not quite how I remember it, but that's not to say that I remember everything correctly on a global scale. I really think there is a divide between Europe and the U.S. in that regard. | /r/MensRights | 21/02/17 01:03 PM
TIL feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" celebrates the statutorily rape of a 13 year old girl by a 24-year-old woman, describing it as a "positive, healing experience" and a "good rape".I'm really inclined to agree, but have only browsed the text so far. The question is, at what point does a character's voice become the author's? I'd argue that, at the very least, Ensler's portrayal of the material as "real life interviews" is highly problematic in that regard. Or at least quite naive. | /r/MensRights | 21/02/17 12:55 PM
TIL feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" celebrates the statutorily rape of a 13 year old girl by a 24-year-old woman, describing it as a "positive, healing experience" and a "good rape".Hm. Just to link a different perspective: http://academinist.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Reiser.pdf claims that it is deeply heteronormative. I've only browsed the play myself so far, maybe I will finally give it a full read. My impression is that Ensler wrote a play, an opinion piece on stage -- which is really fine and dandy -- but with the added authority of "real life" interviews, which does not work because the interviews are obviously highly edited to suit Ensler's ideology. | /r/MensRights | 21/02/17 12:54 PM
TIL feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" celebrates the statutorily rape of a 13 year old girl by a 24-year-old woman, describing it as a "positive, healing experience" and a "good rape".Even more surprisingly, acc. to the WP page this took place back in 2000. I would not have guessed that the feminist movement was so strong back then. | /r/MensRights | 21/02/17 12:09 PM
What feminism would stand for if they were for equalitySo... question: Assuming we have the best interests, and we truly want equality, and we really really REALLY don't want to get entangled in group politics - what is the best course of action? | /r/MensRights | 19/02/17 07:01 PM
What feminism would stand for if they were for equalityWell yeah, I guess the anger on both sides is really something we all could do without, but then again it's understandable, so I guess the only thing to do is try not to take part in it. | /r/MensRights | 19/02/17 06:55 PM
What feminism would stand for if they were for equalityI have an inkling that this might be ironic. | /r/MensRights | 19/02/17 06:53 PM
How to fix "rape culture": Teach women not to throw their babies in the dumpsterWell... so? So it's not one culture, but another, smaller, sub-culture. That doesn't say anything about the original argument that culture can create rapists. | /r/MensRights | 23/06/16 06:58 AM
