I love this. That’s a very practical advice. I actually thought about writing out my thoughts to see if I can make some sense of it all

Replace gambling with gym my man. Gym is the only time when I’m happy right now. I need to find some reading or podcasts on living on your own…

What do friends or girlfriends have in common? They have common interests, views on life, values, etc. Otherwise they wouldn't be friends or girlfriends. How likely is it that the so called "friends" are unhappy for the same reasons? The odds are high. They bounce of each other and fuel the fire. I also think that many suffer in silence, so when you see somebody suffering from the same problem but actually doing something about it (i.e. getting divorced), this gives the courage to others to do t…

It's manipulation and blackmail. Those who want to go through this will do it quietly without making a scene about it. Why? Because they are fed up with everything and see their decision as making everybody a favour.

Spend 2k with your ex. Hire one solicitor. Get them to write up and submit a consent order outlining what you’ll do re finances. 2k to cover both of you is a no brainer.

You are in a complete denial my man. You need to heal. On your own. She’s not your wife and hasn’t been one for a very long time. You are not old yet, so take a deep breath, make a plan, spend next year divorcing and enjoy your new life at 51/52

I feel I’m hanging out to a few friends I do have left and a few social connections. Maybe it’s not worth it and I should start again in a different area

How valuable is a network of friends? I have a few close friends left but not many. Relocating to other parts of the country would make it sooo much cheaper to live.

Same here but without 1500 mile trip. Had to deal with cancer in the family, forever home sale, loss of pet, breakdown of relationship, friends abandoning you, etc. We will get through it. One day at a time my friend.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
