Nobody cares about how aggressive you feel, the point is that men hurt people more. A fly can be as aggressive as it wants, it still doesn't rate high on the violence statistics. In fact, more violence has been done to flies than by flies. Obviously women are a bit more capable of doing damage to people, but you get the drift.

It is probably the phrasing of your question that is wrong, and might cause people to dislike it.

Cause they might judge or be creeped out by you. Nerves and consideration for their feelings, basically.

Because women are used to being disappointed and have been raised to expect it. For men, this is sometimes the worst thing that's happened to them. They actually believed the lies, maybe?

Idk if's you're a man or a woman. Whichever one, if you're a man, it's fascinating that from your point of view, you think you're just being nicer than usual when you deliberately hold a door open for a woman because she's a woman. Like you'd do the same for a man, but you just don't because you believe they don't deserve the same level of kindness? If you're a woman, wow. You really don't notice that it's only men who do this thing? That women never hold doors for you in the same way? You think…

Do you you realize how crazy you sound? Why does it sound crazy to you? Can you explain? Because that's a really rude way to respond to someone who just did a nice thing for you. The appropriate response is 'thank you'. When men rush hold the door for me, with theatrical flair, smiling at me because They know that I'm a woman and they have to hold the door open for me because it will damage their masculinity if they don't, even though I can see on their face that they don't really want to, maybe…

Sexism and discrimination are not entirely the same thing. You're placing the winner and the loser wrong, that's why it's confusing. It's easier to explain in an example, For example, if a woman gives an important presentation, and the first comment is "Oh, you're so beautiful," that's benevolent, right, because it's a compliment. But in the confines of a patriarchy, it reinforces to the woman that her beauty is the measure of her worth, that it supersedes any work she did to put together the pr…

Nobody's holding the door open for women because they're "kinder," they do it because she's a woman, and they want her to know her place. Men have to hold doors open for women, that's something some chivalrous guys have drilled into them. They get really mad when you tell them they didn't have to do that. That's not privilege.

They're not. They react to offensive posts because, well, they're offensive. It's not about lack of success, it's about having a misogynistic ideology. I get that not all incels do, but enough of a proportion in online communities do that it has become a defining feature of their community. It would be good to have a separate community specifically to discuss incel issues, without all the other bs, and maybe take back the name.

I'm using the Oxford dictionary. Deserve: do something or have or show qualities worthy of (reward or punishment). Sex is not a reward or punishment. Colloquially, "deserve" also means you are entitled to something. It is inexact and disingenuous to say that attractive people deserve sex. When do they stop deserving it? When they become less attractive? That's a tautology.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/19 11:06 AM
0

Um, the second point isn't true. You can accept it, but you're still not entitled to it. Entitled means you feel you have a right to something, which they don't, in this instance. It's a semantics issue. Entitled means believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment. It's like a spoiled kid who gets a car for his birthday, he's not entitled to the car, even though he both feels entitled, and has the car. Desireable people are not inherently deserving of having sex…

There is a history of religions way before christianity, that adam and eve came from. They gender switched their characters too, and did more than that. So this could be another iteration of that. But I agree it's annoying, they should have more original characters.

If you define oppression to be unidirectional then most of what is called oppression isn't oppression. Again, you're equating oppression with individual power imbalance. If a woman in Iran hits a man over the head with a frying pan, ties him to a piano, and throws that piano out the window to land on another man's head, do women oppress men in Iran? No, it's the other way around. Of course then it reduces to individualism and loses most if not all predictive power when looking at groups. Not if …

There is no consensus, because most people are not women's study scholars, and this quote comes from a scholarly text. Your first definition is more correct. It talks about the history of intercourse, power dynamics, and how it's centralized today. Also, how the whole idea of PIV and what it is and how it's significant is shaped by the patriarchy we live in. The latter definition could sometimes be true, such as in situations of extreme inequality. It's the same logic that states that a prison g…

Power dynamics are more complex than that. Oppression =! Power dynamics In a given instance it may be one-sided but when you allow for the passage of time you get tit-for-tat happening. What is the practical application of this fact (that just because groupA is oppressed in time period B, that doesn't mean that they're also oppressed in time period C)? This seems like it's misconstruing my definition of oppression. I'm not saying that every category1 is always oppressed by category2, no matter w…

Yeah, right. What would happen if male sexuality was unrestricted? Oh yeah, murder, slavery, wars and famine, business as usual.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/19 06:51 PM

Depends on your definition of restrictions. There's certain regulations that occur naturally, but there is no reason to "restrict" only women's sexuality if your goal is to regulate heterosexual reproduction. Why wouldn't you restrict male sexuality as much or even more?

It's not a conflict between light and darkness, it's a recognition of which group has power over another group. A single type of oppression is by definition unidirectional, even if it maintains itself with input from both parties. I'd think you'd use intersectionality to support your theory, given that you could bring Lookism into it. I do think lookism has a lot to do with dating. you attain affections, closeness, and a significant other with little to no effort because of your unearned privile…

your fantasies are neither unusual nor do they originate from “internalized misogyny.” They don't? There's no way to prove this. BDSM participants have grown up under patriarchy. It stands to reason their sexual fantasies have developed under patriarchy. It's perfectly logical to imagine someone acting out internalized misogyny sexually. And it’s not misogynistic at all. The action is not misogynistic, the desire is. You can't remove hate from the desire just by adding permission. What makes all…

Yah was gonna say. to OP: Why are you trying to write women? There's plenty of women authors who deserve the space Not to mention you wanna get paid for it? If you wanna write erotica for yourself, write what you like and What's the motivation for all this, again? You wanna get paid for writing spank material for women, but you're a man, so you can't do the job as well, plus you'll probably add an icky male gaze to it as well Come on dude, you do you, but let women have something for themselves.

Claims you make: Girls have power in dating that is greater than guys' power Their power is unearned Girls have privilege in dating OVER that of guys This privilege is unearned Privilege by definition is not earned. Well obviously ppl have entire lives when they're not interacting with a specific person. You can be confident in one moment, then walk around the corner and be awkward. I have to say tho it's not about how you feel inside, it's about the performance you put on

Wait- 12 hours a day? So that's like, up at 6, out at 7, work 10-10, and then what, an hour at home before sleep + weekends? If you work 12 hours and support let's say 3 people, that's 4 hours of paycheck per person. Nowadays, both spouses can earn 16 hours of income total, on one full time job each. That's 5 1/3 hours of income per person. Can that extra 4 hours of income be used to pay for child care? In fact, should both parents reduce their work schedules to 6 hours each, which will allow th…

Huh, how to fix that... Since the wages are halved, that means that the woman is payed for her work, and the man is paid for his work. But who's taking care of the kids? There's 3 jobs required, but only 2 incomes. Before, the man would get paid double for his work, and he would pay the woman half for raising the kids. This created a toxic dynamic that many women wanted to get out of. But, the kids got taken care of, on two incomes. 2 jobs done, 2 incomes paid. How can we pay people to take care…

So men assume women want to keep these roles, and because of this they execute them, and then it's women's fault for perpetuating them? What are the initial assumptions based on?

I've said this many times but the word confident doesn't compute to me. Interesting. To me there's a clear difference between someone who is awkward and stuttering and glancing around himself all the time, and someone who feels free to walk around and cracks jokes with ease, and doesn't sputter around girls. Sexual is something I understand and can see how there are specific actions behind it. Yep! Are you just talking about the guy dictating the position during sex? Is that the extent of what's…

That's bossy, it comes off rude with a side of dismissiveness. What people mean when they say "dominant" or "aggressive" usually when it comes to men, is "confident", and "sexual". It's coded male, so of course you gotta bring hierarchy into it and change the words. It only confuses the issue even more.

Also there's the aggression factor and that women as a group wouldn't come up with violence as a factor in a rejection scenario, whereas men have been known to physically attack women who've rejected them. Men in general feel entitled to women's bodies. But if a guy feels afraid, or if cat calling is a problem from women, he should definitely bring attention to the problem and get help. Threatening behavior is not acceptable from either gender. (Btw, I think anyone would love it if someone hot f…

Body positivity is more about accepting yourself, not getting others to think you're attractive. For some reason, liberal feminism likes to take this to a coercive level, but stand your ground and don't let anyone tell you what you have to find attractive. Just know that beauty(more accurately to theory, self acceptance) /= sexual allure. A lot of this is so convoluted by pop fem.

Sex is a bigger investment for women than men, so they get upset at lower returns. Like another user said, nobody likes being objectified, not if they value the personhood of the other person. As for harassment, you can't separate attractiveness from the discussion of harassment. This is not a woman phenomenon, it's a dialect. Lower class people have always used different language from upper class people. When people are in insular communities, their language starts to reflect each other's. In income stratified societies, such as ours, you live in a bubble of your own social class, this affects language.
