My advice is only from my own experiences as a RPW/Wife. With my husband, volunteering to do these kinds of "wifely" duties while we were dating and subsequently cohabitating was one of the things he liked the most. He reciprocated with "husbandly" behavior like replacing the oil in my car, caring for my pets if I were away, and volunteering to take charge of our joint finances later in the relationship as we approached marriage. He even helped me care for my mother on some occasions. I think it…

When you have time to spare, go to his place and do what you can to streamline his life. Maybe take a little extra time on Sunday to make sure his clothes are ready for Monday. Cook a meal and freeze/refrigerate it so if he gets home tired he can reheat a nice meal. (Soups, chilis and some roasts are great for this.) On an even subtler side that may be a little... intense(? Depending on how long you've been together) check to see that he has his basics. (Soap, detergent, glass cleaner, the kind …

1.) He does sound like a bit of a jerk. There, my hen-house squabble aside... 2.) ANGLES, girl! ANGLES! (INCOMING DEETS) Your angle of insertion is probably not ideal. If you're perpendicular to him while he's laying flat, that's tough to make work and a forward and back grind is going to be the least laborious and most pleasurable in most circumstances. Have you tried the couch? I find if my husband is sitting and in a slight recline (with a pillow or something just behind his lumbar) it makes …

I'm a little surprised how many responses want you to curb your libido OP. Wanting to have sex with your SO isn't any kind of pill, it's just your physiology. How you approach that desire can be more or less redpill. Express interest, leave yourself available, flirt, and make sure you're making time for him. Don't demand, be too blunt, or simply state that you're going to have sex. This may just be a hormonal phase, I was there when we were trying to conceive my latest. Just be patient, good thi…

Let him teach you something! Do something he is knowledgeable about. If he likes a certain sport, go to a game together. Let him show you his favorite hiking spot or how to rotate tires (or whatever he can be your expert for.) My husband seems to love sharing things he likes with me, even more so when he can relate is own best "tips and tricks". Also, you never know when that crabbing knowledge may help you out!

Congratulations Iris! My little contribution? Don't forget to look out for yourself. As you form new routines it can be easy to forget to check in with your own wellbeing. Postpartum Depression/Anxiety does NOT discriminate, and it can take a heavy toll. On a lighter note, padcicles made recovery muuuuch more comfortable. Gripe water can be a godsend for gassy babies, and it takes a while for your joints to get back to normal so be cautious with all of that "suddenly not pregnant!" energy.

Hi ladies! I'm just here to celebrate losing my baby weight and chipping down on my 5k pace. I am going to reward myself with a new pair of running shoes if I can hit my next pace goal. What's your favorite way to reward yourself? (That's not food. Trying to move away from that, lol!)

Congratulations! My husband and I did the same! I got married in a cute dress from H&M and my favorite hoodie. (It was December.) We used the money we saved to buy a new house on a substantial property so we could have our daughter! Weddings weren't always huge money holes, after all.

STFU has changed my life. It works for me everywhere. It's given me a better relationship with my husband, my family, my friends, even my son. Learning to listen and think before I speak has improved a lot in my life. I can always improve, but honestly it's made struggles I used to have with all of my relationships as a younger woman way less of a problem.

The biggest thing that I've noticed is how contradictory feminism became. Women should be free to make their own choices! (But not if you choose to get married/have kids/be a sahm. Then, you've internalized misogyny and you're the enemy.) Women should dress how they want! (But not if you want to be modest, then you're inadvertently shaming the rest of us!) Women are all beautiful! (But not if you try to be beautiful, then you're reinforcing unfair beauty standards!) Ugh.

I'm not sure if this is certified red pill(tm), buuut... It sounds like you two need to explore more medication options. Hormones are tricky things, and finding the right balance is not easy. There are a fair number of options for antidepressants, and the same goes for birth control. Unfortunately, it's just a trial and error process, for the most part. You should talk to your OBGYN. Have an honest, candid talk about your symptoms and they may have better, more informed advice than anecdotes on …

:o Cute quilts! I honestly just want to do two lap quilts to go with my new couch. I really enjoy sewing clothes and stuffed animals, but I don't know how to quilt a quilt! I may just piece it and outsource the quilting. I'm also working on (read: paused until my living room is done being constructed) some quilted Christmas stockings, but those don't need to hold up to small children tugging on them as much! (Edit: my first emoji didn't come out right)

It's so okay to say that your pregnancy has made you desire a feeling of deep bonding with your husband. Honestly, this should be a labeled symptom! So many moms I know say they would miss their DH a TON even if he was gone for a short while! I honestly had such a hard time when my husband went cross country for 10 days while I was in my 3rd trimester. I was so worried I'd go into labor while he wasn't there, I fretted constantly. Long story short, you're normal. But, be extra mindful to make su…

I. Am. Not. I can admit to that, I'm SO not ready. I'm a mostly SAHM with two kids and a part time job. My husband handles the "big" things. He handled the negotiations for our mortgage, he handles the car maintainence, and he handles most of the personal finances. I just happily handed all of it over, because he very much prefers to have control. If he were to pass away suddenly or leave me, I would be okay financially and practically. (Between my good family support structure and comfortable s…

Honestly? Therapy. A good therapist will teach you to recognize your patterns of behavior and also constructive methods of coping with your emotions. They can also help to discover if this is related to any kind of chemical imbalance that needs to be corrected. In regards to self care, mindfulness meditation and making sure you are caring for your health diligently can help. Eat well rounded, nutritious foods and stay hydrated. Journalize your positive feelings and read them back to yourself. Fi…

This depends more heavily on how much you take your political leanings as personal identity. Picking a party or official political stance is in itself a decision that can polarize people. If you viciously disagree with any particular stance to the point of it being something you base your personal principals on, it will always impact your relationships. If you are more "go with the flow" and don't let your opinion carry that much moral weight in your life you may find other people's politics don…

No spoiled surprise dinners/desserts! - I can be sure to be home! I love receiving my husband each day. Obviously it depends on your dynamic with your wife, but I don't consider it stressf…

I didn't even think of it until now, but my husband and I didn't have sex until nearly 7 months after we met and 3 months after we started dating. (Honestly I think our schedules played a huge part.) We got married within another year on top of that.

Ugh I hated that I had a second shower thrown for me. :/ But, my need to be gracious to my in-laws won out. I think second/third showers are tacky as heck, but they insisted because baby 2 was a girl (#1 was a boy). It was very much their shower, and I let them enjoy it. (I spent at least 40% of the shower eating at least 50% of the fruit and veggie platters :P)

I'm grateful for the beautiful weather! My poor garden needs every ray of sunlight it can get! I need it too! I'm so thankful for my husband's ambition to get our landscaping done. It's a big, long job that dominates our weekends. But, he's been on top of it, and has still made time to just enjoy time with me too! I actually have a bit of a soft spot for Charlotte. She always struck me as a very sober, almost tragic character that made the best of the "non protagonist's" lot in life. I think her character proved pretty important in humbling Elizabeth, as well. Charlotte is like a more realistic Jane Eyre in my mind.

This is an unfortunate product of our time. The mere idea of gendered spaces, stories, or organizations is not just called into question but stigmatized. By extension, anyone who wants to defend them is shouted down for being "intolerant". It's a real shame to see so many "I don't let my daughter wear pink" or "My daughter has no female friends and that's great" blog posts as well. Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A Food Processor (White) Amazon link #notspons I bought it in red at my local Khols. It's not particularly powerful, but it gets the job done for chopping for salsas and purées too. It's not big enough for making pie crusts and would probably burn out if you're trying to make homemade peanut butter or something. But, it's a perfect size for making dips or sauces in reasonable amounts. I would imagine it will work great making baby food, but I haven't tried it yet.

Ah! I needed this laugh today! My dad LOVED "Dad Jokes". I got the "Hi Hungry, I'm Dad." treatment FOREVER. He also had my younger sister and I CONVINCED he was only ticklish on his nose. Alright! This is my JAM. Here is my method, it's been working out great for me this year. First I started with a family planner for myself. I recommend looking for a family planner, specifically. Academic planners are structured differently. This is my exact planner and I love it for it's perferated menu/grocery list on each weekly page. I think this is a great example of how desensitized people can become in regards to paying attention to what they say and how they say it. Aw man this thread is tough to read, but I recommend it. I especially hate that men are constantly discouraged from being nurturing towards children. Then, we wonder why there aren't as many family oriented men around. This summer I resolve to be more inclusive for playground dads/grandpas. I think you're long overdue for moving on past this guy. There is no way to motivate another person to improve themselves. They can only do it if they are willing to do it on their own. You seem to be looking for a way to fix your man's lack of ambition. This is not the way to a healthy relationship. You both are too comfortable. He's found a low commitment source of sex and nurturing and is capitalizing on it. Move on and find a man who will marry you, rather than give you an empty title. Do no…

People are not projects, and hoping to change them is rarely a good start to a relationship. I don't choose relationships based on the idea of a potential man that I might see. The only man I hope to "mold" is my son, and even in regards to that I'm dubious about just how much I can do. Can I really defer to a man when I'm the driving force to his ability to make decisions?

I wholeheartedly agree that coming from a stable family structure shouldn't be considered coming from a place of "privilege". My parents have been divorced since I was 13, but I'm not about to try and guilt trip anyone who's parents didn't suck. How self centered! My biggest take away from this is that young couples should still get married if they intend to have kids. This means vetting your men and giving a hard next to anyone who doesn't think marriage is a priority, but still considers kids.

I wanted to share this with you all! I especially found the information that kids from unmarried but cohabiting parent structures still don't perform as well as kids from married couples interesting. It's common sense to say that children who have a stay at home parent can do better (simply having accessible nurturing and help is a huge factor, in my opinion). But, I was surprised to find that marital status can have such a profound effect. TL;DR : If you like your kids, you should put a ring on…

This may just be my own reservations peeking through here (I have recently had to tell a friend I do not want his crazy girlfriend around my children). But, I would imagine it will be a lot more difficult to suddenly vanish on the whole lot of them years (?) later when you have your own kids. I feel like all of the anecdotes she sites are reactionary "boundaries". They seem closer to threats or ultimatums because they are in response to things that have already occurred. I think healthy boundaries definitely exist! In my opinion, it's perfectly fine to say "I am not comfortable with x, y, and z." I think both play their part as a continued "us vs them" dialogue that is ultimately unproductive for any agenda. There are no simple answers in a culture that demands both representation (and the feeling of security that comes with it) and independence (and the freedom to exercise it). In a positive light, taking a stance and being willing to argue for it is quintessentially American.

Pregnancy hormones had me sniffling at this post thinking of how I can only hope my son finds someone who will do something like this to encourage him to work hard in such a constructive and heartfelt way. I'll just be over here crying.

Hi all, anyone have a favorite freezer meal? I am starting to compile a list to stock my freezer to get ready for a new baby in two months. In exchange: a nice and simple "recipe card" chocolate cake. No sour cream, buttermilk, blooming cocoa, or other extra steps. This is just a simple chocolate cake, perfect for bake sales or just whipping together in an afternoon.

This is actually a red flag used by law enforcement as well. If someone has a history of violence with animals, it can be a strong indicator of a capability of violence as a whole. I'd also say the general health and ability to properly care for pets is a good indicator of their ability to be responsible. Examples are if the pet is clean, maintains a healthy weight and generally good disposition, and is kept up to date on vet visits/vaccinations. I'd be concerned for a dog kept cooped up without…

I think a lot of the other ladies in this thread have the right idea. It seems to me you have a struggle with finding purpose. I think you genuinely need to find something to be passionate about. Work could be it, or education, or your marriage. But, either way, I don't think this isn't so much about being red pill or blue pill. This is about being a young woman trying to find meaning. While I recommend continuing RPW practices, there aren't any easy answers. Introspection and learning who you a…

I've been doing a lot of thinking about being a RPW lately, especially because I have a daughter on the way. I would definitely have your IUD checked out. Over time they are known to "settle" and can sometimes shift. It should be a pretty quick check up and wouldn't hurt to play on the safe side with those little guys! IUDs are still hormonal birth control, and it fluctuations in hormones are to be expected even after you've felt like you've adjusted to them. I would have periods of low libido or increased sensitivity even after I had the implant in for a year.

Absolutely this. Lack of viable careers for the working class has dashed the hopes of many for a traditional family dynamic. I live in a notoriously expensive state, and you simply have to have a higher education to support a family now. It's a set up for failure in areas that have waning industry. It's no wonder so many people are so disenfranchised.

I think this depends heavily on your heritage and their views on interracial marriage. I'm mixed race myself, and because of that I don't really have a race preference. A strong marriage depends on shared values. Children can strain and destroy a marriage that didn't agree to them in unity, but brings so much joy to a couple that did. I can't imagine my life with my husband without children. We both agreed that a family was important to us from the very start. I strongly prefer being a housewife, but it depends heavily on your own situation! I work around 12 hours a week in a part time job, mostly just for fun money. I couldn't really work more than that without incurring some serious child care costs. Where I live child care costs as much as renting an apartment! I stick with the raw ingredients to keep the calories low in oatmeal. I use plain quick oats (1/2 cup dry is about 150 calories), a tablespoon of brown sugar (or two, which came to 90 cals this morning!) and half an apple (roughly 60/70cals) a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg are <5cals easily.
