This is a case where you just have to shoot your shot. She sounds like she might be checking you out. Maybe she’s interested. Maybe she’s taken but enjoys the view. Maybe you never realize that you have a booger on your face. You won’t know until you ask. I get you’re nervous about not shitting where you eat, but this isn’t your office and there’s a way to handle without it getting weird. Go for a direct approach. Just go up to her, give your most charming smile, introduce yourself, and say “I’v…

A lot of ridiculous answers here including about pheromones and sht, but the clear, true answer is confidence. You feel more sexually confident, you feel more *sexy and in tune with your own sexuality. That confidence reflects in your actions and demeanor in big ways as well as ways that you may not necessarily notice but which make all of the difference.

Having practically no standards is a problem. Not that you should be judgmental or shallow, but you set yourself up for failure if you ask a woman out or continue to see her without being discerning of whether you’re genuinely feeling the vibe as opposed to having a just-pleasant time, or if you’re not keeping an eye out for things that are red-flags/green-flags to you that indicate compatibility. It leads to you barking up the wrong trees or trying with women who are likely to recognize you’re …

You’re not getting it and you’re twisting what I’m saying. I said nothing about expectations of the other person’s behavior in general, don’t try to give me the motte-and-bailey. I’m specifically talking about expectations of how someone behaves in response to your actions. Walking away from something that’s one-sided, on the other hand, is not about not how they act, it’s about how you feel. It’s entitled to expect someone to act a certain way because of something you did. It’s not entitled to …

Not at all. There’s a difference between expectations and recognizing a reality. We can only accept people on the terms they give us. We accept, not expect. By accept I don’t mean agree or condone. I mean acknowledge as true and outside of our power to change. If a relationship is one-sided then the issue isn’t that the other person frustrated a goal; it’s that who they are and how they are does not fulfill our basic needs. It is not because no benefit was received; it is because the relationshi…

Ok, but does the “nice guy” actually care about those things out of concern for the women being hurt? Or is he making it about himself and his own envy, self-pity, and resentments? Is he making a point to denounce those negative behaviors and the way they affect the women on the receiving end? Or using them as a pretext to be dismissive or disdainful of women? Fact is that when a guy talks about men who treat women badly but makes it all about himself, then he’s no less selfish than those player…

They didn’t say to accept bad treatment, that’s a straw man. If someone treats you badly, don’t associate with them. What they’re saying is if you’re doing good things with an expectation that you will get something in return- particularly romantic or sexual affection- then you’re not being good, you’re being manipulative and entitled. If you do kind things for a person but it’s completely one-sided, then draw a boundary. However the actual motivation for doing something kind should just be to d…

Oh I haven’t been bullshitting him at all. But I’m fairly certain that you and I have different ideas on where OP is going wrong

I sincerely hope you mean acting like a quote un-quote “nice guy” rather than an actual nice guy, because nothing here indicates the latter. And fr, once you start talking about alpha or beta you lose all credibility (and make a woman drier than the Sahara in all honesty). I highly suggest you drop the PUA/manosphere nonsense.

so he just needs to man up And in applying that phrase to having sex with more people you basically have proved my first point. Besides, OP’s rant is more than that. It’s basically a manifesto of envy which displays an unhealthy attitude towards women that likely contributes to why he struggles with women in the first place.

Why do you think it’s so important to have a higher body count? Let me tell you something, as men we’re often made to think that our relations with women are a direct reflection of our masculine value or how much we fit into notions of masculinity. We’re conditioned to think that the more sex we have and the more people we have it with, the happier we’ll be and the better we are. Conditioned in ways that can make us resent people like your brother out of envy rather than actual care for the peop…

Sure, plenty of women like that. There are women who are more into a dominance kink, but those women won’t be for you unless you ever want to experiment with it.

Good on you. If you end up needing something to say, in my experience the best thing is just getting the point of “What you’re doing is not good enough for me, I’m not going to participate any longer.” The woman who treated me worst, I ended it after she became rude and insulting while out at dinner. I paid the bill, stood up, then said “I’m not gonna see you again” walked out and that was the end of it. I felt great. Harsh words will never make a person who takes advantage feel bad about doing …

If you say something, speak with dignity. No matter what she is doing, you won’t feel any better about it if you curse her out and in this situation you’ll just go back and forth in your head over whether you regret it. Especially with her hooks this deep. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be blunt or clear where your boundaries are, I’m not telling you to be friendly. But be plain and matter-of-fact. Express your feelings but don’t get emotional. Say or ask what you need to in order to walk away …

Again, at the stage you guys were at I think letting your guard down is appropriate. Honestly, your focus on how you “played” it and how whatever you did fit into your ideas of seduction are indicative of what she was saying about you needing to put yourself first. What I’m getting from you overall is that your way of interacting with women is very focused on how it impacts them and their responses. Caring about that less is what I would consider the good kind of selfish, but honestly, if your a…

Sounds like you have your answer as to her, just keep being sure to check your motives and protect your feelings because despite what you’re saying now, your original post conveys a strong sense of wanting to be together with her again. Resentment is unnecessary, but for sure be selfish. The good kind of selfish. Start now, in all walks of life. Hell, let her see it. But if you’re really able to be FWB without getting hurt, then be sure to recognize and draw your own boundaries on it.

I don’t think it has anything to do with you. The whole “challenge” thing isn’t an issue because after 3 months and both falling in love you shouldn’t have to play games about being a challenge. It’s possible that she’s scared of the idea of moving forward with you or anybody else even if she can’t articulate that to you or even herself. And it’s possible that no matter what else is good there, that will never change. I’ve been there, it’s one of the hardest relationship situations to be in for …

Just keep being your best self, man. I know you may be skeptical if I told you that women don’t care about size. Here’s the deal, women may be attracted to or intrigued by larger penises, but just as most guys like big breasts, that doesn’t mean that we don’t fall for or get attracted to women with small ones. Hell, some women are turned off or hurt by large dicks. Most women are perfectly happy with average size (5.5-6 inches) and I’ve known women who were hooked on guys who they admitted had s…

Ask her on an actual date. Something fun. A bar, Dave and Busters, a movie, bowling, just something that shows you’re interested in spending time with her more than just hanging around the house getting drunk and having sex. If all goes well you can move into something more romantic. That’s what she wants and she’s going out of her way to make you notice and want that too. So if you do, take action. Edit: And yes, after a point if you don’t then she will feel hurt but will move on and you won’t …

She’s upset. She was starting to feel like she wanted you guys to start getting a little more serious and you didn’t reciprocate at all. Your response was honest, could have been playful based on tone, but you made no effort to show that you were willing to test the waters by going out or something

Not necessarily confused so much as she’s cautious and doesn’t want just empty hookups. She wants a romance or a relationship.

She’s looking for a genuine person and emotional connection, but not sure if it would be for a commitment or more casual.

Don’t ask. Try to slip back into fun, lighthearted conversation. If you wanna date her, then just outright say you’re not trying to be friends and you were making a joke that miscommunicated.

She either wanted you to make a move and say it was a date (most likely based on reaction) or wanted reassurance that you weren’t making one. I’m not 100% sure which and you had the right idea in trying not to put a definite label on it and leave it open, but that response was definitely a misfire. If you do get another shot and don’t know what she’s after, just say “as two people enjoying the night” or something along those lines, emphasizing the experience not the label.

Stuff happens but she sounds like she could be a little flaky but is giving you a shot. If you guys meet up, then go in without expectations and just be charming and have fun. Take it a day at a time. And be aware that she may end up canceling Saturday bc you’re seeing her Friday

Those women are out there, I’ve met them, seen them with guys who are nowhere near as attractive as they are. But it depends on what the woman is looking for. Hookups are more physical, so yeah, most women are more into looks for that. But someone looking for more of an emotional connection likely won’t care about that as much, but you’ve still got to put your best self on display and meet them in forums where that’s possible.
