Death penalty should be used to permanently remove someone as a threat to other people. The best way to have a strong military is to leave it open to everyone and boot those who can't make the cut, regardless of gender or anything else. I'm a female soldier in a combat MOS. Your friends got lucky. The vast majority of the other females I know barely slide by doing the bare minimum for females. When we do training for pulling people out of tanks and such, they can't do it and see no issue with it. Some of them can't even lift a main gun round, and we're tankers. Unfortunately, a lot of people will still do the bare minimum and not care if they can do their job so long as they can get away with it.
