If you do tell the school, or his wife, you better have solid proof in the event it goes to court.

Hold onto that in case you need it for court purposes in the future.

For the snipped guys out there, how often does the woman demand proof up front? If it ever gets that far for me, I can just pull out my phone and the hospital app will show proof my soldiers are now retired.

Don’t file blind. Consults with a few local attorneys to get your options. Open an individual account at a bank or credit union other than when you’re at right now. Move some money into these accounts. Make copies of important documents. When serving your wife, make sure you have a witness in case she goes ballistic.

Very awful people! Their next move will be to alienate them from you. This will be done over time like death by a thousand cuts. Be prepared!

You have to put down the alcohol. Exercise and good nutrition are well within your control. That’s a good start. If you’re eating processed foods, stop! Spend the extra money on good food. Now, you should probably talk to a good therapist to help you move forward. You need guidance and have been spinning your wheels for a few years. This has to end now. Take up a hobby and get with a good group of people that can help lift you up. Most of all, get right with Jesus. You need Him to move forward i…

She’s calling on a recorded line? Did she ask for your permission and, if so, did you give it? Also, I would demand a complete, unedited, copy of each of these calls. Tell your lawyer about this, too.

Did you, by chance, hire a military lawyer? One of my family members did that and the attorney missed a lot of details. When he was done with his service obligation, my family member hired a civilian lawyer to clean things up and even up custody and get child support cancelled since the mom was living with the new husband and wanted nothing to do with the child. Just used the kid as an ATM.

Until social media exploded, along with men’s channels on YouTube, I don’t think men realized what was happening. Men knew something was wrong but couldn’t put their finger on it. Now we know and this is why more men are walking away from marriage. It’s not that men have started to hate marriage, it’s that the game is not winnable for men.

The sad thing is, women falsely claiming “abuse” is trendy right now. Even more sad is these false allegations dilute authentic abuse claims which hurts those victims. As others have said, keep documentation and do talk to text if you get tired of typing/writing everything out.

I went to an attorney consultation, in 2014, and the lawyer said to not serve her on any important dates because the optics are bad. What your STBX did falls into the same category. Document everything and give this information to your attorney. It’ll make her look bad in the process.

Have a couple of people ready with their phones to start recording in case she tries to pull her bullshit. Also, if there is a physically strong female in your group that will be there, have this woman make it crystal clear to your ex to mind her p’s and q’s!

Don’t end things. Can you imagine how your daughter would feel if her Dad was gone?
/r/Divorce_Men04/06/25 12:31 PM
1

Probably. Get your lawyer involved and get the exchange made at the police station. Even if it is rejected, you have it on record that you tried and they resisted. You can also have your attorney ask why they are resisting.
/r/Divorce_Men24/05/25 11:15 PM

There must be something they are nervous about. Or, they have a plan to trap you somehow. You might want to push for a police station swap.
/r/Divorce_Men24/05/25 08:35 PM

I think you need to do the exchange at your local police station going forward.

Meet at the police station. They should have surveillance cameras to monitor all of your STBXW’s bs. Wait until she gets a simp boyfriend that will do something stupid to you for her. At a public park, you better hope someone will catch it on camera. At the police station, they would have to be stupid to try something foolish.
/r/Divorce_Men18/05/25 02:36 AM

Oh, I agree it was bs. She was either too stupid or on it with the accountant.

Similar happened to an old coworker of mine. His ex and him had a court agreement where each would claim their son every other year. It was his year to claim the son. When he hit the send button, error messages came up and it triggered an IRS audit! He passed the audit and chewed out his ex. Her explanation: “Sorry. My accountant told me I should claim him this year”. 😡. No accountability!

Many wives/gf’s take advantage of the kindness their men have towards them and turn it into a shit test. Men were conditioned to bend over backwards for their women. Slowly, men are beginning to see this form of female nature and are pushing back.

And they wonder why men now skip marriage altogether. Hookups and hanging with their bros is now the name of the game.

I fell into this trap and now it’s come back to hurt me. I listened to the “rules” modern society put out there. These rules do not benefit men in the long term. You do need to take time for yourself and enjoy the spoils.

Even if she doesn’t have a claim, that won’t prevent her from hiring an unscrupulous lawyer to make life hell for you. Loose lips sink ships! Do not mention a peep of this to her or anyone in your social circle. This has a way of getting around.

This didn’t happen overnight. She was planning this for quite a long time. She had to pass the bar to put the plan into effect. I would say she’s getting advice from another attorney at her firm. I remember there was a gubernatorial candidate in Texas about a decade ago. She got her ex husband to burn through his 401k to pay for her school debts. Once the last debt payment was made, she bailed on him. I’m sorry you’re going through this. The only consolation is you did not have kids with her.

Good thing you found out before you filed. This happened to a former coworker of mine. It was his year to claim their child and her accountant told her to claim their child. She filed first. When he filed, it triggered an IRS audit. He passed but it was a pin in the rear end for him. He confronted her and all she could say is “whoops, sorry. My accountant told me to do so.” I don’t know if he ever got the money he was supposed to or not.

Please don’t do this. Your friends and family will grieve. If you have pets, they won’t understand but will miss you. Your parents didn’t do all of that work raising you to end it like that. There are ways out and people to help.

Just focus on keeping your cool. Before you know you’re going to meet up with her, prepare yourself and know she might pull some crap when you see her. You can always walk away if this happens in a public place.
/r/Divorce_Men03/02/25 02:01 PM

Seems as if she’s playing games. This is a post-marital shit test. She wants to test your boundaries to see what she can get in the future. Hold firm and tell her you weren’t rude and that you said proper hellos. You are under no obligation to be friends with these people. Make sure you write this whole episode’s in a journal. This might start a pattern. Worse case scenario, you might need it if she drags you back to family court.
/r/Divorce_Men03/02/25 01:55 PM

I see what you’re saying. However, I would hold back and see how things play out. I’ve been told gossip, like this, and just kept it to myself. Many others do that, too. If some people start spreading her misinformation around, then he has a right to retaliate with his story.
/r/Divorce_Men28/01/25 08:04 AM

Younger me would have said yes. Older, and wiser me, says don’t do it. What she did was wrong. However, it’s better for you to let her tell her family as long as the version she tells does not adversely affect you.

Start, or continue to, document all of these interactions including her BS of alienation. Get back with your attorney. Your ex will have you spinning around with games and lies if you try to fight this yourself. Just go to the lawyer and have them start fighting for you again.

I’m sorry to hear this. You need to keep taking her to court. Also, tell everyone you can, including mutual friends and acquaintances, about how she is withholding the kids and in violation of a court order. Document everything so you can back up what you tell people. Maybe even send an “anonymous letter” to her place of work, too. That way her coworkers will know what a scumbag she is.
/r/Divorce_Men24/12/24 03:07 AM

There’s a special place in hell for parents that practice parental alienation. Document anything necessary that a court would need to hear. Don’t do anything stupid. Talk to an attorney as soon as possible. What happens when you, politely, remind your ex of the court order? Document this, too!

SHE asked to marry you? That’s a hard NO! Single parent relationships are tricky. You are doing well, career wise, yet she doesn’t treat you like a high-quality man? This relationship is oil and water. It’s good you got this off your chest. Let your story be a lesson to other men.

The AP is not “nothing” as he is the other half of the affair. Once the ink is dry on the divorce paperwork, OP should contact WS and AP’s employer’s HR department. Give them an FYI that these two have a history and to keep their eyes on them for any shenanigans.

This is family alienation with Trump as the scapegoat. Had it not been Trump, it would have been something else (sports team, current events, etc). Your wife needs to stop this right now. In any event, talk to a local attorney and get your options in the event she presses ahead.

Start gathering evidence. Depending on your phone plan, and where you live, if you can access her phone records, do it and see if there is a number that shows up often in the phone log. Ask your lawyer about other searches you can do. Put an AirTag in her car as this can help you track where she’s going on those late nights she’s not answering your phone. If she is having an affair, now might be the best time to file and go through a split. She sounds as if she’s in an affair fog and might be mo…

I’m reading this as I am up getting a glass of water @ 1:30 AM. Yikes! Unfortunately, I don’t think this will be the end of it. I foresee her trying to engage in guerrilla warfare style tactics for years to come. Studying history, even after the Nazis were defeated in WW2, Nazi loyalists still continued attacks on Allied efforts rebuilding Germany. Your ex will probably still keep fighting as she believes she has the moral high ground. I wish you better years ahead with your daughter as you’ve p…

Talk to a few good, local attorneys and hire the best one of the bunch. I have a feeling she might have stepped out over the years. Start playing detective and, after you hire one, talk to your lawyer about a PI! If you do happen to find evidence of infidelity, don’t confront right away. Keep it to yourself and hand it over to your attorney. Keep acting like everything is normal. Look up phone records. Search the car for burner phones. If your local laws allow it, and your attorney gives you the…

Definitely stay with a local attorney. Local judges do not like when “big city lawyers” waltz into their courtroom.
/r/Divorce_Men24/09/24 04:27 AM

My wife thinks that everyone has it better than her. Even when I tell her all she is seeing is the highlight reel, she often refuses to believe this and, suddenly, I’m the devil. Of course I should be taking her on three, expensive, vacations per year. She should have two luxury cars in a four car garage. Every other husband is making over 200k per year, why am I so far behind? 🤦‍♂️

Often, they want to destroy their ex to make them look like the bad guy. Then, they can play the victim and claim the moral high ground. If the ex rebounds, and builds himself up better than when he was with his wife, it might reflect poorly on her. None of this is normal thinking. However, it makes sense in womaneese

Be careful. Former coworker of mine had an ex-gf that wanted to move 1200 miles away with her BF. Former coworker said no to any modifications. Ex-Gf manipulated child (then age five) into lying about abuse against her Dad (former coworker). Fortunately, school officials, and local police/social workers got the daughter to tell the truth. His ex-gf lost all custody of their daughter. Visits had to be supervised. I only say this because your ex might go nuclear and try an option like this.

Years ago, we all walked around with Sony Walkmans for our music. As the batteries neared their end, the volume got quieter and the cassette tapes slowed down. It was time to change the batteries.
