Sure, but as with all things, to get to a relationship that's stable and deep enough for that, you need to have gotten past the initial shallow-ness. So basically don't try this in the first months/year of the relationship, BUT if the girl starts talking about these first, you can use yours as signs of how you empathise, but keep the focus on her emotions and secrets. That way, you get to look in touch and understanding, while also getting your emotional hit. Again, never before a good few month…

Because charm, confidence and initiative really aren't the first things women should be looking for in a relationship. I was putting together a comprehensive rebuttal but you've just gone ahead and attempted to tell all women what they should and shouldn't be attracted to... so... I'll let your argument speak for itself.

That's what I meant though. Don't be an asshole just because some people think you are. I don't care if people think I'm an asshole. At the same time, I don't think I'm an asshole and I'm not going to suddenly going to act like one because some other people think I'm one. ^ That's not embracing being an asshole because you're not.

Oh right. No that wasn't what I meant (even if my comment does kind of look that way now that you mention it).

I don't know. I think TRP has a selection bias for not only not-confident men, but also interactions with less-than-ideal women. Think of it this way: Just as there would be no need for an alpha to come to TRP for advice, there would also be no need for stories about a smart, intelligent, reasonable AND hot woman, because there would be nothing in either of those situations which would be relevant to TRP. TRP is, by definition, for guys who are not naturally alpha and their interactions with gir…

No dammit. Don't embrace it. Pity the jealous/insecure guys who think it's "being an asshole" that actually gets girls and not, you know, a combination of biology/sociology knowledge and basic social skills, and fight against the stereotype that you have to be an arrogant douche to get girls. They're guys too, and while I guess there's less competition the more of them that utterly fail, I personally think a lot of them, if shown the light, can turn out as decent guys. Don't be bitter. Bitter is…

Which part? Testosterone leads to more/leaner muscle mass and facial hair: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone#Pubertal Testosterone does bad things to you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone#Adverse_effects So yes, if you're taking it, I'd get advice from a couple of GPs and only do it if necessary.

I do hope that she was just misguided and her 'playing hard to get' isn't a sign of just bigger underlying issues. Having said that... offered to take her out and she cancelled Strike 1. didnt rush to rearrange Strike 2. apparently she likes him! But was playing games Strike 3. I would send a civil message saying, look you're obviously not interested and I'm not a fan of wasting my time, so have a good life. And that's it. Not playing, not posturing, and I would NOT take her even if she threw he…

Not afraid of being an asshole != having social skills. I'm not sure about the go-to literature on here, but I'd start with "How to Win Friends and Influence People."

Can I just say, as a normal, sane and rational male, why the FUCK would you want to get with a girl who plays games like that? Forget the body, forget the family or the 'sweet and friendly' - I would nope out of there the moment I found out she was into me but just playing games, because I have enough self respect to be fucking pissed off if I was being yanked around like that. Godddamn, your friend didn't win. If anything, her strategy paid off because her victory was also getting him, and he's…

Good read. Though w.r.t.: Women are inherently selfish, hypergamous, opportunistic creatures I always work under the assumption that everyone only works in their (enlightened or not) self-interest, like sex and are opportunistic. Also, this is just something that's been bothering me: TRP is about sexual strategy and making biology work for us, and the most important trait for sexual attraction is confidence. Following from that though, can I just emphasize that NO MATTER WHAT TIP OR ADVICE YOU R…

It's how you do it. Confident, do it because you want to do it and not whether she wants it, don't be hung up on her reaction, etc. As with everything, it's in the attitude and HOW you do it, not the what. If you're confident enough, a box of roses and a home cooked candle-lit dinner can be alpha, whereas if you're not, even ignoring her will look beta.

That... is disturbing on so many levels... Though if you're married you probably don't need to worry, plus you can always threaten her with eloping with your dog since... well... ok let's not go down that path.

No doubt, but there's not much you can do about that (short of testosterone shots I guess, but those do... BAD things to you). She probably doesn't even find him that "cute/grounded/funny/etc" - because if any of those were standout qualities, they wouldn't be slashed together/etc. Cute guys... don't usually get girls unless you're Bieber and want to end up doing 20-to-life. Grounded is a positive but only in terms of marriage/settling down, definitely not in terms of physical attraction. Funny …

It's a good thing you're aiming for your dog to be sexually attracted to you................

I hate it even when girls use the baby voice. Why in the world would anyone think that it would be attractive coming from guys? This is like saying, "Don't punch yourself in the nutsack because it'll hurt." NO, REALLY?

You can be alpha and not be a dick - it's not mutually exclusive. "Nice" guys are called that because they're ONLY nice and have no other qualities. No charm, no confidence, no initiative, sometimes not even much individuality. Why the hell would any woman go for that?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
