Well, the idea is, that if humans were naturally like that, we can "return," to it. However, its not so much would we have a prosperous civilization, but would our lives be "better," by some metric. I mean if you read Marija Gimbutas, the main inventor of the modern Pre-historic Goddess centric mythology, she says these societies were non-violent, in harmony with nature, vegetarian, ect ect ect.... so I guess the idea is not having a computer or modern medicine is a small price to pay for a utop…

Okay, for my first comment on this sub, I feel it necessary to address this one, the evidence shows that for most of human history people lived in equality, with no rigid division between production/reproduction. There are obvious biological differences regarding childbearing, but child-raising was a collective task—and women also gathered food (which often provided more food than the hunt) and had equal say over community decisions.
