Conservative here. Left GOP for the Libertarian Party when Cruz dropped out. This is completely correct. The left became the boy who cried wolf, and when an actual misogynist who courts racists and legitimate bigots came along, nobody believed them. Hell, I got called a "Hillary shill" and a "SJW" (and I was a Cruz guy, ffs) in r/conservative for pointing out that the various overused PC attacks were actually applicable for Trump. The left made Trump, and now we're all stuck with him.

The problem is that there isn't a ton of political/financial will to do so from a ton of people in my community. I went to BSA meetings for the 4 troops in my area, and only 4 families (5 kids) were interested. Out of probably 150 kids, 5 isn't a good sign. Too many people are just either complacent or apathetic about the current state of things.

Totally agree, especially regarding the various "nasty bits" and the regulation needed due to obvious results of putting hormonal teens of the opposite sex in tents in the woods. My troop had hazing. The reasoning is that by doing so, it won't be a "sausage fest." I did as well. I know full well it won't work, but it made me feel better. I don't like trying to stifle free speech, regardless of how absurd it is. Unfortunately, I think that it's time we start accepting that our opponents have no such qualms. We need to start fighting by the same rules as they do. It isn't pleasant, but I think we don't stand a chance unless we start fighting back with equal ferocity and swiftness.

Well, I say former because I'm not proud of the organization in its current state. It has ceased to stand for something, has embraced the "everyone gets a trophy" mindset, and seems to have its finger to the wind when it comes to making new policies. I've seen many Eagle scouts who would never have made 1st class when I was in.

We usually do. My chapter had 24-hour video surveillance with multiple cameras indoors and outdoors. You could get on an app and, with the right password and prior approval, watch the stream live. If anything private ever needed to be done (meetings, ceremonies, etc.), we'd put a bag over the relevant cameras.

If higher education wasn't a zero-sum game, I might agree. But it is. When you help an under-qualified person "get their foot in the door", you slam it in the face of another. Unfairness in the pursuit of fairness is still unfairness. Asians need ridiculously high marks to get into med school, but African Americans or Hispanics get in with below average scores. How does that not perpetuate doubting that someone in that group only got where they are because of their skin color, not skill?

Elimination of this whole "girls in STEM" focus, and instead focus on getting the best and brightest. If the best and brightest is a bunch of stuffy rich white guys, fine. If it's a bunch of gay poverty-stricken black women, fine. I don't care what demographic my doctor is, I care if they know what they're doing. I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, the noisiest of the feminist movement do not care about real issues that need solving, as posting a quick tweet or comment is easier than stepping up and doing something about it. It's much like studies showing how conservatives tend to be more generous in donating, even though they are exponentially less numerous on social media movements. I got involved because one of the guys that recruited me for the school asked me to come over and play volleyball and eat free food. So I came out for that. This article brings up a great point that all too often goes unsaid: sometimes, we need to stop talking and just listen. Men have been beat down by society into a state of just keeping their heads down, only speaking until spoken too, and, when allowed to speak, have to filter everything for fear of being targeted for a various -ism or -ist. I love how the article focused so much on her crying, tear-filled eyes. I hate how hard they tried to make a child molester look like the victim of a miscarriage of justice.
