Prisons and jails are owned by corporations they formed a lobby group Alex and they actually make laws hand it to the legislature that is in their pocket and poof no parole longer minimum sentences. I have 2 sons and it is terrifying our boys have a better chance of being labeled sex offenders than actual sex offense crimes. The number of people on the registry were put there as kids usually for non sex abuse. They are never able to get off it.
