Interesting - totally diff experience on this end. I was in vegas with a guy who works in our IT company and he was fighting off women with a stick. Yes, he's a coder. Yes, it was a large stick - never seen anything like it. (might have something to do with the fact he rolled up in an Aventador, but how'd they know?)

I've been working on an extremely tedious IT project for going on 2 years now. If I succeed - let's just say retiring with flash will be easy. Eh, sometimes we need something a bit lighter to cheer us up from the constant "Another day, another divorce rape" that we otherwise find. That whole divorce rape thing is an even more egregious offender in the circlejerkness category and I wish it'd all keep contained in MRA or something. I think these threads take away from discussion and lower the quality of the posts overall by turning the mood from introspective to a total angry cirlejerk. Again, that's just me though.

I don't know how I feel about that the story bit. Did that actually happen to you that same day? I think if it didn't, and you're not on the right wavelength so to speak, it will come off like you're bullshitting if you're cold approaching. Even if they buy it, you'll still be thinking "One false statement down, X to go." Also reinforces reliance on tidbits of "material." Anything is better than interview-type questions but I think perhaps channeling stuff that you truly care about in the moment…
