I highly recommend Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away by Annie Duke. It's about why it's hard to give up and specifically what to do about it, be it work, hobbies, relationships, etc. It's also a really fun read! For me, it's been insightful to read stories of successful people who didn't give up... And their resulting downfall. It helped me put my life in perspective and see moving on as a positive change.

Why do you care? Millions of women sleep with other men every day. Yes, you used to be married to this particular woman, but specifically why do you care? It's certainly okay to be bothered by this, but thinking about why it bothers you may help you address it. Best of luck.

Thanks for sharing! I hope things work out for you, or at the very least you get some clarity on what direction things will go so future decision making is easier.

I agree, this sounds like a slippery slope. Just one week? Yeah, it was nice of you to avoid the conflict and take the kids. But now it's continuing? Probably best to take a step back and rethink what you want to do. I'm sorry to hear she's treating you and your kids this way. You sound like a great dad and I get the impression that the reason you're stressed comes from the fact you care.

I'm really sorry. What you describe sounds terrible. As for what others say, it's easy to look at another's situation and say the obvious (move on), but I bet it's much harder going through it yourself. Emotions are complicated. Why do you think you still feel love for her? (I ask because answering this question took a long time for me but helped me immensely when I did.)

I've found books to be really helpful for solving problems. For me personally, books on attachment styles and anger management have been useful. I've genuinely noticed improvements in myself. A good part of the result is due to more awareness around my emotions combined with keeping my goals at the front of my mind. I do therapy too though.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
