1	Questions on Preparing for Divorce As an update, my wife has cooled down and is no longer angry but now very depressed. Has more or less stayed in bed for 2 days. She is talking to me and thankfully not angry anymore but still wants a divorce. After spending more time on this forum and reading about divorce horror stories I am going to talk with her this weekend and see if we can amicably agree on something before getting attorneys involved. 1	Questions on Preparing for Divorce I agree if I let them press charges I could have had a slam dunk divorce. In my state if she was convicted legally she could not have any custody at all. The problem with that is I would also ruin her life. We live in a city where she has no family and very few friends - she spends all her time with me, our son, and my family. Even though she has been abusive to me, I still love and care about her. I couldn't live with myself if I ruined her life.
