Because wanting equal rights for both women and men isn't a bad thing, even though there are some on both sides who are blind to the other. 1	Evidently I am one of "those" because I believe in the traditional marriage like my parents have... Not claiming you are, sorry. It was more of a blanket statement to those who do. While there are many reasons for divorce, I can't help feel that one of the main reasons people rush into marriage so quickly is because of one thing: sex. A lot of this has to do with religious reasons, too. My community has been very adamant about waiting until marriage to have sex, and there are a lot of repercussions to this. I'd argue that people aren't getting married for the right reasons, or don't take time to truly think through it. Everyone in my family who divorced got married very young, younger than 25, while those who waited until later all stayed together and plan on staying together for a long time. But as you said - you would consider a "themed wedding" or something similar to be a bigger sign of commitment, love, and devotion. I completely understand your viewpoint and approach, and respect it, even though I will not be the same when I get married :) The reason you were downvoted, however, had more to do with the way you approached it. It seemed you were criticizing women who did not take the man's first name as her middle name and surname as her surname as not being "committed" to the relationship.
