What you call iron will, i think of as dangerous conditioning. Somehow the phrase "don't hit another person first" mutated into "never hit a woman". Combine that with a fear of the unknown. Getting hit is getting hit, something most people can imagine. Dealing with the justice system, and giving up control to the cops, judge, and any jury is the unknown.

Does anyone else feel that things would be much more fair if the judge could only see the relevant facts of the case, and not the people involved if they have power over the decision? Hide names, gender, age. You can't have bias that way.

I'm sorry, but isn't income part of the formula that determines your maximum limit? A part of the article is correct, the formula should be public (that way we can make sure it's fair, and people like me can game the system) still something seems very off about how things were worded. I work with mortgages, and I'll tell you that if I had a couple apply for a mortgage (let's call them Mr. and Mrs. X) then it would play out as following. Mr. X - credit score 640 / income 90k per year Mrs. X - cre…

If you need validation, then here it is. You did the right thing. The rule I grew up with was "don't hit another person first" this somehow turned into "never hit a girl". This is wrong. Actions have consequences.

Be very aware of blanket statements like the one you just made. Spousal support should stop being applied so liberally, and for indefinite periods of time, but to say "any" spousal support is unfair?

The party in question is PiS (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość /Law and Justice). They have caused a very big split in Polish public opinion. It's as strong of a split as the one between the Democratic and Republican party in the USA. PiS is a party that is very nationalist, very populist, very anti EU. They have very strong ties to the Catholic church. They are also very authoritarian, anti LGB. Some laws that they have passed include giving every mother/family 500 PLN (about 130$) per child, per month. …

Oh, but it's more sinister than that. Imagine you're a feminist who grew up hearing about girl power, and being told she's a perfect little princess. All of a sudden the real world hits you in the face. That doesn't make sense to them. If you're a perfect little princess, and we're all equal, then the princess should always win. See what happens when you're not allowed to question an idea/movement? All the stupid people who need an ego boost find it, like a moth finds a light bulb in the dark. People who post this stuff do it because it's popular, as soon as the winds shift, so will they.

That's because you don't think like a politician. Positions of power like to attract narcissist, sociopaths, opportunists and other undesirables. They like to attach themselves to whatever is popular at the moment and ride the wave. They especially love ideologies that cannot be questioned. The irony is that it hurts both sexes. I don't know if this was by design, or coincidence, but the further both the sexes are driven apart, the angrier they get, the easier it will be to blame these problems on, let's say the patriarchy (or other fictional villain). This will drive people even further apart, make them even angrier, and the cycle continues!

Why is it so popular for people to voice an opinion on literally every topic? These people are everywhere online. Sitting behind their keyboard and echoing phrases they dont understand just waiting for that notification that their tweet was liked or shared. It goes deeper than that. First the court of public opinion was ready to crucify a beloved actor because of an accusation. I guess the demand for sex offenses from Hollywood is greater than the supply. Second, I wouldn't be surprised if Johnny Depp would have been charged if he had not provided evidence of his innocence. It's almost as if the burden of proof was thrown on the accused.

I find it amusing that they don't realize what happens when the pendulum swings back. In a world where it doesn't matter if you do good or bad, you might as well be bad. Why wouldn't I do something I'm going to be punished for anyways? That, plus every false rape accusation cheapens what actual rape victims went through. This really doesn't strike me as a feminist, however it is one more notch in the "women are not infallible" column, and another point in the "women are natural caretakers and should automatically be given custody" category.
