I don't see how locking the bathrooms during class times is punishment
/r/MensRights27/03/22 08:14 AM

Fuck all men? Dude, their bathrooms are locked during class times, it isn't oppressive. "The girls bathrooms aren't locked during class times." Wow that is true oppression and discrimination.

Lmao, it isn't discriminatory, the school has just decided to lock the boys bathrooms during class times.

You are spamming me, Jesus Christ. Anyways, the only boys who suffer are the ones skipping class, as OP specifically stated the bathrooms are only locked during class times.

By your logic, OP could also be lying, he himself could've damaged the bathrooms and caused this consequence.

Go to the actual survey, "In the United States, an estimated 19.3% of women and 1.7% of men have been raped during their lifetimes; an estimated 1.6% of women reported that they were raped in the 12 months preceding the survey. The case count for men reporting rape in the preceding 12 months was too small to produce a statistically reliable prevalence estimate. An estimated 43.9% of women and 23.4% of men experienced other forms of sexual violence during their lifetimes, including being made to …

LMAO, what are you saying? That consent shouldn't be vocal because women are victims who only want to abuse that? You are delusional. If a woman doesn't want to continue sex and vocalize it, that is rape. If a man continuously asks a woman for consent and pressures her into having sex with him, that is rape and is known as coercion. Toxic masculinity is defined as "the dominant form of masculinity wherein men use dominance, violence, and control to assert their power and superiority." Women don'…

No, it wouldn't, but that is because the bathrooms are gender-based. Even so, the boys can still use the bathrooms as normal, the only boys who have restricted access are the ones who are skipping class.

Even so, it isn't a human right violation. OP specified that the bathrooms are only locked during class times, so the only people who have restricted access to the bathroom are those who are skipping class.

"My logic" You aren't even responding to my comment, I'm telling you that, in childhood, women and men both have patriarchal ideologies pushed onto them, such as "Boys will be boys," excusing the violence of men, and women being told "If a boy hits you, he must like you," even encouraging women to accept and enjoy the violence of men. There are several more contributions to this during childhood, but the majority is from the parents, and the fathers who encourage their sons to toughen up and be …

Can you rephrase? I want men to stop thinking that false rape accusations are something to be afraid of, when they are very uncommon, and rape it is proven false in court, men like you don’t use it as a “gotcha” moment. You are more likely to be raped than falsely accused.

My point is, if the school doesn’t trust the boys in their bathroom, without a teacher allowing them to use it, something has obviously happened, and even so, it isn’t oppression, having your bathrooms locked while you are in class, isn’t oppressive or discriminatory, it only displays that the school can’t trust the boys at that school to use the bathrooms appropriately.

You’re defending an argument which claims that we don’t live in a patriarchy, however all you men want to talk about on here are why you hate women, or issues that are the result of the patriarchy, such as high suicide rates in men and how unfairly men are treated durning war and in family court.

Boys are taught to be violent when they are taught it is a sign of affection, due to the patriarchy. Many boys' parents tell them to toughen up, be a man, and girls are taught that if a boy hits you and picks on you he likes you. Boys are taught to be violent when their violence is excused and women are supposed to view it from an affectionate place.

You literally are referring to women who are attracted to violence and dominance. That is not true, especially violence. Few women are attracted to violence. Men, from a young age, are taught violence is okay. This eventually leads to toxic masculinity (which is a real thing) because men think they need to act a certain way or be a certain thing, due to the patriarchal ideologies that are pushed onto them when they are young.
/r/MensRights25/03/22 10:43 AM

The patriarchy is defined as an institutionalized social system in which men dominate over others, but can also refer to dominance over women specifically. The patriarchy eventually encourages men and their entitlement to women's bodies. It also excuses violence because men, are men, such as the term "Boys will be boys" or girls being taught that if a boy hits you or makes fun of you he likes you. These sayings and seemingly innocent acts envoke violence against women, long term because many boy…

My ideal solution would be that all parents and schools actively educated consent and explained that it is necessary. Boys and girls need to be educated appropriately about what is right, and wrong, and this can't help without the abolition of the patriarchy. Asking for an obvious and unrealistic solution is stupid. Boys should be taught not to rape, and not be taught that violence and sexual abuse is okay.

Clearly, something did happen though, schools do not just lock bathrooms if nothing has happened, something like this happened at my school, and it wasn't personally my fault, but it still happened and I understood why. They just want to prevent further incidents.

Child sexual abuse is relevant because it contributes to the number of women assaulted in their lifetimes. I agree with you also, prisons should be a place for rehabilitation. Few women falsely accuse, the women who do, I agree with you.

The school is allowed to punish the students if their property is damaged in any way, to reduce the amount of damage done. If the incident happened in the boy's bathroom, they will monitor who is going into the bathroom. They are still allowed to use the bathroom, it is hardly a punishment.
/r/MensRights25/03/22 09:44 AM

Approximately 1 in 5 women experiences rape or sexual assault at least once in their lifetimes. That is why I believe not just 48, 500 men would rape women, but significantly more. I am not saying it is all men, but it is a damn fair few.
/r/MensRights25/03/22 09:43 AM
-4

And I'm sure that does happen rarely, however, the majority of women face rape or sexual assault at least once in their lifetimes, and a lot of it goes unreported and kept secret.
/r/MensRights25/03/22 09:40 AM
1

That is the thing though. Most rapes happen towards children and are committed by loved ones. Men who commit rapes tend to be mentally ill, and most likely take advantage of people who they can manipulate into silence. Many of the men who rape, don't have much to lose clearly. Rape also includes people who are under the influence of substances in which they cannot give genuine consent. Men shouldn't be afraid of false rape allegations, but of getting raped themselves.
/r/MensRights25/03/22 09:38 AM

That article discusses that a woman should be sober, and not coerced into having sex with a man. That does not say that women no longer have to vocalize consent. It says that when men want to do something to or with a man, they have to ask for consent beforehand. What is wrong with that?
/r/MensRights25/03/22 09:34 AM

It does in fact give the authority to "punish" all the boys. The school wants to restrict damage being done towards these bathrooms and took this action because they believe they cannot trust the boys to be in the bathroom without knowing who is going in and coming out.

That isn't how it works, and what "New rules?" Women vocalising that they don't want to continue with sex isn't wrong, is that what you are trying to say? False rape allegations happen, I'm not denying that but what makes you think that women just accuse men of rape for fun?

Men don't have more rights than women. If your school has had an incident in the men's bathroom, where the men's bathroom has been trashed or ruined in a way, the school locks the bathroom to prevent this issue. It isn't gender-based discrimination, it proves that the men in there don't understand how to respect school property, and is preventing an issue. They're still letting people go to the bathroom, they would just be logging and recording who goes in to make sure issues like this happen less.

Modern feminism attacks and attempts to abolish our patriarchal society and its effects, which include men being expected to be providers and prejudiced family court. Misandry is the whole "I hate men" ideology, and is the premise of radical feminism. Equality includes everyone being equal, and prioritising men in areas such as war, family court and such is absolutely acceptable, but being a men's rights activist is literally just anti-feminism. Modern feminism attacks and attempts to abolish our patriarchal society and its effects, which include men being expected to be providers and prejudiced family court. There's nothing wrong with your religious beliefs, but feminism in general aims to abolish all the issues you have mentioned. The main problems in modern feminism are radical feminists and TERFs. Saying you are against modern feminism, does in fact mean that you are against basic human rights, which is what feminism stands for.

Toxic masculinity is defined as "the dominant form of masculinity wherein men use dominance, violence, and control to assert their power and superiority." Women don't define masculinity as toxic, they define unhealthy and violent habits that several men tend to resort to, to acknowledge and define their masculinity. Resorting to conspiring that women are gaslighting and manipulating men into believing that toxic masculinity is a thing, is beyond delusional.
