In my opinion, if the 2 people having sex are close to the same age, the real age of consent is around 14 or 15. I get that this sub is about equality and that if the genders were reversed the sentence would have been completely different... But don't you think 'rape' is a bit of a hyperbole when we're talking about an adult having sex with a 17 year old? Regardless of gender, 17 years old is definitely taboo, but are we really saying that a 17 year old cannot provide consent? (Honest opinion/question.
