Everyone should be aware of the entrepreneureal path to success but it's pretty far from OP's message of simply working hard, early, and consistently to gain financial independence. Even most successful business owners have several failed attempts before they have a sustainable business. Even then, most owners don't achieve true independence until old age. 3	To truly be great: the search for something more This wasn't exactly an acceptable career path for my Mother. I don't blame her 1% - who wants to watch their precious child go off to become a killing machine in some dangerous country far away? Not only that, but she recognized my intelligence and felt if I enrolled in the military I'd be selling myself short. Nearly every week (for some periods of my life every single day) my Mom would say "You aren't going to join the military are you? Don't join the military...". This is silly.
