Agreed.

I certainly understand that. I didn't jump down their throat for it but it certainly seemed like she knew they screwed up when I emailed them yesterday. I probably wouldn't notice except that as a custodial father I see this kind of thing regularly.

Yeah the local school is very clear on who to call. They send the info to another program who automatically assumed mom has the kids. That being said after contacting them yesterday they are sending the info to me instead.

Also to your original point frequently sexism isn't intentional. It can be apathetic, relying on bias rather than logic.

The local school forwarded this to a college for a summer prep program. The local school knows who to call in an emergency. Me. The college assumed and entered her mom.

This was first interaction with this organization and they input incorrectly based on info sent from local school district. They are rectifying.

Snipped in this one. New girlfriend and I don't have that problem.

Yeah they've been very helpful now that I've brought it to their attention. Said it was clerical and only had room for one parent to send the info, and hadn't realized where daughters primary residence is.

Just pointed out that I'm custodial and to please send the info, they said they will email it to me this week.

We have joint legal at this point but her refusal to cooperate or particular may change that in the near future.

The judges have to specify in their decision how how they decided on each of those factors, so that dads are getting an even shake.

On my phone, so don't want to restore them all and copying more difficult as well. Section 2 subsections 1-8 http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/c400-499/4520000375.htm

Agreed. I would love it if my ex was a rational and reasonable person I could coparent with. I see more and more courts default to 50/50, but so frequently people (men) are willing to abdicate and allow less than that.

Agreed, which is why I offered 50/50 repeatedly throughout. It was my ex wife's statement that regardless of the ruling (whether the kids stay or moved with her) she was moving. When I was posed the same question I responded without hesitation, I would break leases, move, take new jobs to keep access to my kids. The court determined I was more likely to put the kids best interests first.

I went to court, said I'd be glad to settle at 50/50, my ex said no, she wanted to move the kids four hours away, and I was welcome to move there to take Wednesday and every other weekend.... Judge decided based on seven or eight statutory factors that I was superior in five and we were equal in the others. Kids live here with me 75% and she got every other weekend, and most of summer.

Depending on his level of involvement, context IS everything. We don't know 1) if he has any involvement 2) if he is somewhat involved what percentage of the time he has the kid, 3) whether he has been contributing to the kids costs in any meaningful way. Remember, I'm not the enemy here, I'm a custodial father who fought, and won primary custody. Should my ex have to pay for the reasonable care of the kids?

Again context is everything. If dad was forcibly prevented from having an equal time with kids, and there was no reason to do so, then we have an injustice. If dad walked out, doesn't spend any time with kids, and she has kids full time, I see no problem with him paying to support the kids.

If she has the kids majority of time, she has to cover majority of bills pertaining to child's care. If he had 50/50 time, child support would be negligible at best. I don't feel bad at all about spending reimbursed child support funds on myself, though sometimes I use them to take the kids on vacation. This picture lacks context. Everyone is assuming guilt for the mother, when there is no telling what the actual situation is.

Custodial father here, but without context there is no way to tell what she spent her money on prior to collecting child support.

As a custodial father, who struggles to collect child support (which reimburses for expenses I've already paid), I frequently spend it on luxuries we've been deprived of. Needs context, or it's just a picture designed to stir up ill will toward custodial mothers.
