I completely agree! The line "But do you treat women in such a way that their unique personhood truly matters to you?" put into words exactly what I've wanted to say, but didn't know how. I don't want to be someone's wife just because functionally I can perform "Wife" duties. I want to matter to someone because I am uniquely me and they can't picture a future without me specifically because of who I am.

This is horrifying! Even existing in spaces designated for women isn't safe. What the hell are we supposed to do, just stay locked in our homes all day?!

After my father passed away, my mother refused to date until I was grown and out of the house for this exact reason.

I would hate it if my husband shoved my face into the cake. I don't understand why this is supposed to be funny or cute. I would leave him too! I'm glad the person responding didn't side with the bride's family and say she was overreacting. She had ONE rule, and he couldn't honor that. Boundaries are not permeable! She is entitled to have that boundary and shouldn't have to defend ot explain it.

Claimed his ex wife was the live of his life, but he still stepped outside their marriage as soon as an attractive younger woman showed him interest. He absolutely deserves everything he got. I'm glad his wife got the happy ending she deserved.

I worked in customer service in my early 20s, and it gave me a lot of experience reading people. Dealing with the general public on a daily basis really opens your eyes to the broad range of masks people adopt while they're trying to make a good impression.

Your father gives excellent advice! If he's foolish enough to lie about something small, he will have no problem lying about something big.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
