I think the negative/advice giving/reprimanding Man you find your self to be boils down in part to doing stuff you want to do with your kids (and in life). If you find yourself doing stuff you think you're supposed to do, then you'll see life as a place of NON-abundance. NMMNG has a blurb about this I believe .. life being a place of abundance versus a place that's barren. If my needs are being met, then I can rid myself of the covert contracts that I've got setup and the expectation that the wo…

I've got five kids with one miscarriage somewhere in the middle there ... ALL OVER THE PLACE MAN. That's all I can say. All over the place. The hair is awesome, and when she feels she's got awesome hair, she feels great. Skin is awesome ... same thing. Tits. Yup. Loved the tits. She loved the tits. Normally a B, so anything more was huge for her view of herself. And the tanks came as well. Tiredness were a big deal for her on later pregnancies. Your wife will obviously be more tired with the sec…

Is she asking the question? Or are you deciding whether or not to just up and tell her? Either way, you've got to decide whether to tell her or not. All RP info indicates a firm "no." Either buy into the RP or don't. Now, if she's asking, and you feel guilty for saying "no" to her... I'm pretty sure there's a book around here on that problem (ie ... problem with you). And for reference... Iron Rule #2

It may be autistic. But for some guys, it just makes sense to put it out on paper. Some guys (myself included) don't have the internal drive/discipline to keep making progress day after day, month after month, year after year, child after child, stage after stage, etc, etc. I'm simply not there yet. And it's only in the past ~6 months I've realized that "there" is actually a place. And that "there" is a place I should be. At that "there" place is a place of constant improvement. The external lis…

A pastor at a previous church of mine had a list like this. He would use it when counseling younger and older guys alike. He called it the SPAM list ... Super ProActive Man list. I talked to that pastor for the first time in a few years about 2 months ago ... close to the time I found myself to be unplugging. I had found a copy of his SPAM list in my attic a couple days previous to talking to him. And it was an eye-opener. When I talked to him recently, I told him that I wasn't ready for the SPA…

This whole barf-load of comments. The back and forth. This.. This is why I sometimes wish that MRP and askMRP were strictly for the M part of MRP. This sort of using a relationship at work to get back at your LTR for using their relationship at work for something (unknown yet what that something is) is plain bullshit. Sure, shit like this happens with married people, too. But typically the potential OP's internal bullshitometer is going off before finishing the second sentence of a post like thi…

I'm about where you are on the numbers. Started late December in the SL5x5 program. I'm noticing changes already as well. Love the program. Simple check-boxes. My style of learning. No fuckarounditis at all in the gym. I've added the calf-raises for both workouts, some leg curls on a machine for both workouts, and 2 sets of sit-ups to failure at the end of each workout in the gym. I love racquetball, so the leg exercises are somewhat for my performance on the court. I do racquetball twice a week…

I find the cash budget rewards to be much higher than any CC rewards I've seen yet. Having a physical envelope that's shrinking or growing has proven to be a great motivation for both myself and my wife in deterring unnecessary spending. Sure ... I'll grant that in a 100% ideal world we'd maximize the benefits and be 100% in control of ourselves. But I find that the benefits of the cash budget for our family far outweigh any benefits any CC has to offer. And I'd wager that 99% of families are in…

"magical"... You are a walking case of oneitis waiting to happen. You're oozing oneitis. Maybe this wasn't the girl because you don't feel the tingles anymore with her. You're hoping your next will give you the tingles, so that you can validate staying. You're letting your emotions (or lack) determine if the relationship is worthy of your time.

Going to sticky this somehow and read it from time-to-time when I don't feel like hitting the gym on a gym night. Thanks for putting words to the concept.

Just did a search on this sub for 'smurf'... How has that term been used a peesley grand total of 3 times so far in this subs existence?

Holy shit! 166lb at 6'3"?! I was at 170 in college at 6'2", and I look at my college pictures and see a sick (wimpy) kid!! You should be eating bacon and eggs all day long, man.
/r/askMRP23/01/17 03:31 PM

I don't answer texts or phone when at the gym short of "somebody's dead." Simple rule. I do use my phone for the SL app, so I would see a text if it shows. Just ignore it until you're done and on the way home. Flowers once a month!!!?? Wow... I've got an easy solution for that... Go back to beta for another month or two, and buy flowers for any fuck-up your beta-self thinks flowers are good for. Actually puts a bad taste for flowers in the woman. My wife dashed a vase from our wedding to bits ab…

Term fuck-ton seems spot on here. If I ever bench 300+, I sweat I'll never wear a shirt again. I'll go shirtless at my kids' weddings if I ever bench 300+. I've got my own personal goals of 1x body-weight bp and 1.5x sq. When I hit those, I'll probably go shirtless for a few weeks minimum. Then I'll re-evaluate and go from there. Heck, I went without a shirt last night around the house a bit just because I can feel and see some muscle in new places - mainly shoulders right now. Dude ... props on…

Shoutout to u/TheFamilyAlpha and his blog .... [Intentional Discomfort] (https://thefamilyalpha.com/2016/09/08/intentional-discomfort/) I like the term as well. And I've read that post of his a few times, so the term is working its way into my thinking and regular vocabulary.

If I was planning a 10-14 day vacation away, I'd do something I've always wanted to do but haven't made time for (yet) .. backpacking trip in Alaska. I love Boy Scouts and the camping/outings with my son. I've found out I can hike just fine with a pack and sleep just fine in a hammock or solo tent and eat just fine with trail food, water filter, and small stove. Am I ready for a long trip to Alaska? Who knows? I figure the intentional discomfort would be a good thing, and I'd love it. If that's …

I have found that simply saying no works better. The rational explanation of "am I allowed to answer no to your question?" is simply DEERing in my estimation. Every once in a while it may come up. But typically, I'd say just say no if you want and STFU when the wife tries to force the answer. Any explanation past the 'no' is going to move towards an argument that isn't necessary. Answering with the 'no' and simply moving on is better.

r/redpillfatherhood/ Not much content flying around on that sub. But it's there, and some people are starting the engage on this level.

Ever tried saying it in French? Sucez-la chienne This redpill thing isn't a list of "tricks" you see other men using on their docile, average-IQ, HS/colledge-educated wives.

I can drink to that. I'll knock back an Elijah Craig tonight when I'm done swapping electrical outlets in the living room (goal of the night).
/r/MarriedRedPill06/01/17 11:55 PM

I think you should keep going via text. Any problems you've got can clearly be handled via text messages. At some point, you will need to set some sort of precedent for not answering a text ... simply not answering it. If that means you intentionally leave it in the car, then so be it. If you're at the office, then put it on silent and leave it in your jacket pocket which is hung up on the coat hangar. If you can't keep yourself from responding to texts like this when you see them, then move the…

Hah! You're giving out hammers for free here. Now you're going to try and tell me some of the things I wanting to use it on aren't nails?

Agreed on the fluidity and adapting. My 16yo self knew the desires I had at the time weren't the ultimate end state .. just goals in life. This need to adapt you point out is my focus now ... but I'm doing it intentionally. What do I want to do today/tomorrow/this year/etc?
/r/MarriedRedPill06/01/17 02:15 PM

I wasn't assuming the magnum opus discussion here. I had "end states" (ie goals) that I wanted at 16. I knew then that those goals weren't my desired magnum opus. However, I never revisited, re-evaulated, re-examined. I never made more goals. I never decided what I wanted to do. So I defaulted to the status quo of living an un-examined life.

End state is death. Something all have to deal with. Some choose the correct religion. Others don't. That is the watershed for that decision IMO. Either way... the question has to be dealt with by all. Some decide to deal with the question on a regular basis. Some let others make that decision all to often. To your point ... my discussion can and should touch on ultimate end state. And I'm fine with a rephrasing to something like "what do I want to have done" when discussing that ultimate end st…

I am at the point where this either will end in divorce or her stopping this money wasting and complaining nonsense. What do I need to do? If those are the only two available options, are you in charge of making either happen? Could you make either happen? Or is that up to her?
/r/askMRP06/01/17 11:47 AM

I've never talked to her about the psychology of alpha/beta. Part of me wants to do this so bad Don't give in here. I'm in the same boat. I'm conflicted ... 1st mate and all. But I don't think talking about RP is a good idea. I'm firm on that in my mind ... just conflicted. I do talk to her about working out in the gym or my latest racquetball tournament. I do talk to her about hobbies and people I meet and/or talk to. I do talk to her about my interests. But the RP stuff seems to be more a lens…
/r/askMRP03/01/17 05:08 PM

Aside from helping with the wife relationship... Knowledge of RP definitely helps with the kids as they get older, too. Kids don't want a Dad who is not going anywhere and just along for the ride himself and not working to make life enjoyable for himself and those around him. I found MRP after 5 kids. My oldest daughter (12yo) responds amazingly well when I don't lose frame in the house. She responds in kind (ie. think teenage bitchy-style) if I am losing frame at home. If the wife's not baromet…

Finally got a gym membership. Ponied up for a year membership at a Workout Anytime ~8 minutes from my house. And I'm the sort of guy that needs to get my money's worth. So I figure the year investment up front will help with consistency. Started on the StrongLifts 5x5 program. Never done a gym or lifting before. I used to do racquetball 3x's a week, and I figured racquetball was enough. But now I want to do the lifting based on reading this sub. I am dropping rqball to 2x's a week and hitting th…

Same as above ... not sure if this is the correct spot for your post OP ... but hey? It's the internet. I'll bite... Three is a great number. I've got five. We're kind of tight at five. And we're done at five. Do I wish we had just 3-4? Not really. But five's a lot. We've got a van, and I'm looking to get another vehicle soon. I've got 5 ranging 3-12 years old. I think the more kids you've got the harder it becomes to change what you've made of yourself thus far. I became aware of RP stuff after…
