I don't want to come across as crass here, but gender definitely is not binary or genetic. It applies to the range of characteristics between what society deems is "masculine" and what is deemed "feminine." Nobody is definitely 100% masculine, while nobody is definitely 100% feminine. It's a spectrum. What you are referring to is the sex of an individual, usually determined by sexual organs. Men do rape each other. Often times there is little to no support for such victims. Hell, I've been raped by a woman: passed out drunk, woke up to her going to town. I consented to nothing. Majority of responses I got (from women as well) when seeking advice/counselling were "well at least you got laid." I could never, ever imagine that being an appropriate response to a female victim. Gender is more than just binary mate. Which is why /u/Mentally_ill_hippo raises such a great point. We've all got our own skills and abilities. If one possesses the skill/ability to assist somebody that doesn't possess, then one should. This whole gender-difference only exists if you let it. Be good to people, and you'd be surprised how good people can be to you.
