This would have made a lot more sense if they had defined it as "self identify as a feminist", because that's how it's regarded in the real world. I'm definitely for more equal partnerships. Close the work gap for example. Instead of women staying home all day they should also be out working equally at full-time jobs and then they both be contributing equally around the home after work. Men can cook and do laundry, and women can mow the lawn and clean the gutters too. No reason for anyone to be a stereotype these days.

The problem with comparing this to the opposite scenario is that where attractiveness is a prime motivator for guys to have sex with girls, it's not so much for girls (which this experiment demonstrates). The fact that he was likely to be arrested over child support (as he had been several times before) is an issue. It's one of the only kinds of debt out there that will get a person sent to prison, and it's an issue that disproportionately affects men not only in that men are much more likely to be compelled to pay child support, but also in that the state is far more likely to enforce it.

I only see this as being a preference. Some people like to be "top", other people like to be "bottom". It doesn't mean the bottom is weaker, or that it even applies in any other area of their life other than their sexual life. Someone could be a corporate executive by day but at night they love to be dominated in the sack. As long as both people are getting what they want out of the relationship emotionally then it should work out just fine.

This is why I'm so big on supporting new male birth control research. It's a complete non-issue right now because people don't see it on the horizon, but once it becomes available I think we'll see it becoming popular very quickly and there will be a lot of coverage. I think we'll see a lot of surprising debate as well in that coverage but most importantly it will get people thinking, even if only for a little while, about an issue that has a large impact on men.

In my opinion, the best bang for the buck right now is supporting new male birth control options. A large chunk of mens' issues disappear entirely when they aren't shackled by an unintended pregnancy and cheap, reliable, noninvasive options would be just as liberating for men as it was for women.

From my experience, the women who complain about having to share a weight room with men aren't using much more than shit weights anyway. A few dumbells here and there and some machines. The ladies who are using a lot of different weights and equipment don't care who they are sharing the weight room with, and don't pay much attention to the other people around them anyway.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I was in a similar class several years ago and when a student brought up the issue of men's rights the professor simply asked what the issues were, but no one could think of any off of the top of their head. The difference today is that we have a lot more information about men's rights available than we did then. I believe my professor would have considered these positions without prejudice if someone had been able to articulate them.

The opposite point could just as easily be argued. The kid grew up a little awkward but mostly normal despite his mental illness. When his parents divorced in 2009 and his mother received full custody, he lost the only close male figure in his life and became increasingly isolated eventually leading to this incident. The problem wasn't being male at all, but was at least partially the lack of a male role model in his life.

It should still be punished like attempted rape because that what the person was actively trying to do. It's similar to fake drugs: If you are in possession of fake weed, or try to buy or sell it under the impression that it is then the crime is punished as if it were the actual drug.
