There are a few reasons people oppose it. My personal reason is about body autonomy. While a few cases do exist where it is necessary, circumcision is largely a cosmetic surgery at best. As such circumcision should be an option not a mandate. The boys that go under the knife are often too young to make a rational decision. Circumcision robs children of their autonomy and thus should not be done on children.

The two are entirely separate programs. They also do entirely different things. Boy Scouts do knot work camping etc. Girl Scouts do bake sales and social work. Circumcision, by itself, is not wrong. If you are 18+ you ought to be able to have the operation if you consent and can pay for it, though it should count as a cosmetic surgery. The problem arises when that same operation happens to children and babies. It is a matter of body autonomy. Any non-vital surgery should be forbidden on anyone under 18.

As I see it, meh, the damage is done. I'm not going ask for my foreskin back. I'm just going to ask that we stop doing circumcisions on children. Circumcision has never been men's issue to me. It's more a children's issue that happens to affect men especially in the west.
