Hmmm....wouldn't one have to be open in order to learn? Yes the scientist needs to be curious but he also has to be open in order to accept his new findings and banish prior opinions and judgments. Perhaps the two are on a string. It seems we're caught in somewhat of a dilemma.

My point was that while openness and curiosity aren't interchangeable words, openness does correlate with curiosity. If one is open to new experiences, wouldn't one naturally be inclined to seek some?

I've heard that you have to balance beta and alpha in an LTR. My problem is that once I've taken the woman off a pedestal, I feel almost no inclination to do any of the romantic stuff.
