I've always thought this whenever someone states that "they have needs". Maybe they're so coddled that they actually experience their desires as needs, who knows. But to be honest, I think this whole concept is macro scale gaslighting.

Yeah, that's a weird one. The body does that whether you want it to or not. I'm guessing whomever made the illustration is constipated.

Arranged marriage is violating a lot of boundaries, even if it doesn't get further than the initial stages. People who have no business involve themselves in the deeply emotional and intimate relationship that you're trying to build with another person. For not to mention the transactional nature of the concept, which reduces both parties to buyer and product. When the violation of your boundaries is normalized, you might have to begin with getting to know yourself. Get to know your body, how it…

Completely agree. Mandatory therapy for males would solve a lot of problems.

It's default for gaslighted women to not be bothered by 'uncomfortable'

It's not your idea. You're an antenna and you're replaying the message "I want to be with a HVM" in your head, because it's been sent to you over and over again by the external world. Recognize this and you'll make room for your own ideas. When the urge arises and you remember that it's not yours, then you can avoid the following spiral and use the free mental space to focus on your own.

This is really good advice. I've done the opposite a few times and looking back it was codependent behavior. I had some kind of idea in my head that I couldn't be intimate with someone unless they knew about my trauma. Another thing is that if you don't talk about it, then they don't know/think about it. You can remove the trauma from your identity this way. It's a neat little lifehack.

I was thinking the same thing. I imagine them on their date, and she's all phone out, documenting. What's even more disturbing is that the dude probably doesn't mind and might expect it. I have a younger sister who's of that generation, and she's all polished in SoMe and a wreck in person. To her the only point in applying basic hygiene is if someone is going to see it. It's a "if a tree falls in the forest, but nobody is there to hear the crash, did it even make a sound?"-kind of situation.

Write a kitchy selfhelp book about FDS, and get it published with massive marketing.

My mom isn't dead, but my dad consistently reacts the same way when i confront him with his behavior. He says i don't like him because my mom calls him by his name instead of just 'Daddy' (they've been separated for 10+ years.). If someone criticises him it must be because of some kind of conspiracy.

Haha, I have similar experiences. They don't define love and admiration the same way as us.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
