You forgot about external pressure. In a society like that, even if you believe that men and women are 100% equivalent, you're throwing away at least half of your human potential. A society like that will quickly be overrun by any other society that doesn't do that. Or if not overrun, than it will simply become irrelevant. Furthermore a society like that has no hope for achieving anything great on a large scale. Like colonizing space or ending world poverty. You can't do it with 50% dead weight.

You're not really wrong. It's just that men and women are different. Men have the same instincts in name, but in reality they manifest differently. E.G women's instinctual idea of the best partner to reproduce is not the same as men's, meaning these two hypothetical best partners do not have the same traits. The name of the instinct is the same for both genders, but it doesn't mean it implies the same behavior for both genders.

All humans share behavioral traits. All humans can be divided into to groups, men and women. Both of these subgroups also share behavioral traits among themselves. Therefore AWALT. Why is this so hard for some people to accept is beyond me.
