Yep. It's annoying to hear feminists say that they oppose the MRM because the MRM generally opposes feminism. If feminism was about REAL gender equality instead of only fixing the disadvantages for women, the MRM wouldn't even be necessary in the first place. People want real gender equality. Feminism is outdated. Still haven't seen feminists march the streets for women to be drafted or forcing companies to hire 50% women to work the harshest shittiest jobs. Nobody should be a feminist if they a…

Didn't see man-hate either. Did see the tired old "women are victims of male domination" though, which could be interpretated as dissatisfaction with men.

In their minds it is. They need a government which treats women as eternal victims and men as perpetrators.. The progressives never fail in this.

I feel the same way. Around a decade ago when I was about 25 I started realizing that men do not get the same treatment as women in society and by the government. I noticed all these women only causes and organizations and everyone sympathizing with female victims of crimes but ignoring men's issues who could be victims of the very same things (like domestic violence or sexual assault). I'm happy there is a MRA movement now which seeks to find real gender equality in these issues and provide hel…

The article is full of lies and misrepresentations of what we want. They just can't get their head around the fact that we just want more attention for men's issues. Nothing more, nothing less. The woman=victim and man=oppressor fantasies are all over this article as well (and the comments). Any man who dares to speak up for men must be the oppressor who just wants to oppress women more.

Absolutely retarded. The song isn't even negatively describing women. It's basically glorifying them in a sexual way. I know countless of songs written by female singers which are far more sexist to men. If men would start demanding those songs shouldn't be played artists like Beyonce and Katy Perry would need to scrap half of their songs. Of course, nobody in their rights mind would do that. Only retards would.

I'm not counting on feminists anymore. The vast majority of feminist organizations didn't address these important male issues for decades, even though they had the same statistics as we have today, so why would they start now? They are focused on helping women. We need to focus on the general public to know about this stuff. Most people still think sexually assaulted men are some sort of a joke, which only makes dealing with the issue worse.

I'm not happy with the 1 in 4 will be sexually assaulted stat. This is just as bad as the 1 in 4 women will be raped statistic. I'm very happy they put the sign up making others aware of male sexual assault but are we really going to cheer this inflated 1 in 4 statistic on just because it's about men? Come on man, I'm more and more inclined to keep away from this sub if this stuff goes on. And I'm all about MRA issues, so don't paint me as a feminist. I'm serious here, this stuff makes us look j…

I'm not happy with the 1 in 4 stat. This is just as bad as the 1 in 4 women will be raped statistic. Are we really going to cheer this on just because the genders are reversed now? Come on man

Obama is the least likely person to care about MRA issues though. I remember his awful Father's Day speech where he basically went out of his way to criticize fathers instead of helping them or even acknowledging the good ones. He also can't stop talking about the "oppression" of women, something we all know is highly questionable in many cases. You think that's a good leader for MRA issues?

"The fact that women choose lower paying jobs is a legacy of traditional gender roles." I strongly disagree. In Sweden and Norway there's almost absolute gender "equality" and the more equal it became the more women chose social and nurturing jobs. These jobs are still done for 95% by women today in those countries, even though the women had generations of equality and equal education opportunities. Real gender equality is a myth. Men and women are different in many ways. The only gender equalit…

It's infuriating. And we all know nothing will change now that the truth has come out, people will keep believing the lie along with all the other feminist distortions of facts. I've seen this happen time and time again. Women and brainwashed men keep voting for the politicians who treat women like victims and the politicians know this. The majority sheep control the vote and the politicians say anything the sheep want to hear.

The only reason we mention feminists is because feminists are telling gay people MRA's are homophobic. If they wouldn't do that, we wouldn't have to mention them here. The same applies for men's rights. If feminists would have fought for men's rights similarly as they did for women's rights, we wouldn't even need a men's rights movement. Feminism deserves a mention here because they poison other people's minds with this BS. Gay people should know they are lying and that MRA's actually fight for …

I would say men's issues usually affect the average gay man even more. Most gay men usually want to break free from the traditional male gender roles as they are hindering them to be who they truly want to be.

Dude! OF COURSE! We don't care who you are, if you believe in real gender equality for both men and women you are always welcome here. To be frank, even if you don't believe in real gender equality and think men should shut up because you think they are so privileged, you're still welcome! You will be challenged in debates and will probably not enjoy your time here, but you are still welcome to share your opinions!

The problem is not the joke. People can freely make this joke if it was up to me (I won't think it's funny, but that's my own problem). The problem is the underlying truth of the matter. The "the wife is always right and the husband should nod" is something we've ALL encountered and it shows how relationships between men and women are viewed and how women treat men in relationships (and how men sheepishly undergo this).

I have a internet business myself and am in "the business" since 1997 and MicrobialWhale has a point. It's not just the last few years of (extremely) bad business decisions, it's the huge potential Yahoo wasted. Well, between fighting and winning. Most people interested in gender equality have taken up our ideas (facts). Now it's just a matter of time before all the old farts in power are replaced with the people who grew up with the real gender facts.

10 years from now they will react to this article like we are reacting now. They are about 10 years behind, their ideas are old news. He has a point though. I often call myself a MRA but lately I'm getting more and more annoyed by fellow MRA's and the negative victim BS. If you're a victim you choose to be one. And if you can't find a good woman you're probably not looking around and opening your eyes. Just stop looking at women through the "all women are like this or that" lens. It's BS. The above is what many people don't seem to get. It's not just the crazy radfems we should be after, it's the people in feminist organizations and government who try to force sexist legislation based on false statistics and distortion of facts which paint women as a gender as victims of men as a gender. Jackson Katz was born in 1960, he can't help it. He's brainwashed with the feminist "women are victims and men are perpetrators". You have to be open-minded to be a MRA at his age. Most people of his age aren't.

It's a joke referring to the hypocrisy of our feminist world where everyone has to be equal, as long as it benefits women. When men are behind women nobody with power feels it's important enough to even mention it. You not understanding the reasoning behind his comment is what's the problem here. He's not actually serious about wanting women to kill themselves. It's sarcasm born out of frustration that men get no empathy and support in society. So, where's your outrage about THAT?

The glass ceiling is just a feminist excuse theory for why women still aren't measuring up to men in the business world even though they have the same rights and freedoms. Every sane person who gets some fresh air from time to time knows that companies care about making profit, not about gender. So why aren't women measuring up? Wow. You're in some kind of weird deep hole my friend. And I do mean MY FRIEND. I've been where you are; you are seeing sexism against men everywhere and in everything. This is what many feminists suffer from too. Feminists can't see past their ideological BS and see oppression where it doesn't exist. Don't follow the same road. You're better than that.
/r/MensRights28/12/13 12:39 AM

That is just total BS. How did this get upvoted by us? No mainstream media anywhere would justify this act, doesn't matter if it is a man or a woman. Claiming otherwise is just victim hood nonsense and is equally delusional as feminist victimhood. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and clouding your judgment with emotions. It doesn't help you or anyone else.

My girlfriend is the same. Whenever I see a woman putting her man down in a sexist way I speak about it. She can't handle this and says I "hate women". It's just the way women have been programmed. Any criticism from men to women is "hating women", no matter how sexist or hateful those women act. But when women point out sexist men, it's obviously justified. Therefore we must continue to fight this hypocrisy. In the end it will hopefully change if more men speak up.

It's really annoying how people (especially older women) assume dads are second-class parents who know nothing about babies. It's not even surprising to me anymore. I used to get angry about the feminist double standard, today it's just reality I've accepted and I see these feminists as children with very shallow thoughts. Hmmm isn't this exactly the same thing feminists say about us? They also say we attack feminism because we are "afraid to lose our male privilege". I think you're over-analyzing it. The author is actually on our side. She says it was a hoax: https://twitter.com/sulfura/status/412292539513712640 Very funny because many took it seriously, including most people here I see. I guess we are so used to feminist "logic" that nobody's even surprised about it.

"This can range from dismissiveness toward someone in a marginalized group" Watch out people, we can't be "dismissive" towards someone from certain groups. They're always right with everything they say otherwise we're racist or sexist. Ugh.

The problem I have with this phenomenon is not the commercials or the jokes. It's the imbalance, it's the complete absence of the dumb wive/mother in commercials that annoys me. It's ALWAYS the idiot husband who needs assistance from his super intelligent wife. They give women a pass on purpose because they are afraid of the backlash, something they won't get when they ridicule men. Plus they know women make 80% of the financial decisions in families, so they cater to them and not to men. But wh…

We just had our first child a week ago and although in my country (The Netherlands) dads are taken almost as seriously as moms when it comes to parenting I still encountered the same sort of sexism you are talking about. People always seem to assume the mother is the only one who knows how our child is doing when we are in meetings with the various doctors and child health/care services (of which we have a lot here). Luckily I have a great woman and she includes me in the talks. In the end I am …

They actually believe that by focusing on women's issues, men's issues will magically go away. What they seem to ignore is that things haven't changed for men since the rise of feminism, nothing is being done about men's issues. Feminists have only worked to remove the disadvantages for women, men are still in their old gender roles. That's why there's a need for the Men's Rights Movement. Nobody else cares, so we have to start somewhere.

I generally ignore gender specific or race specific causes, unless the problem can be 100% ascribed to one gender or race, which is rare. In the case of violence, ascribing the problem to a single gender is clearly the wrong way to go as both genders experience violence.

The fact that people embrace her like some sort of angel while she is allegedly responsible for the butchering/torturing of another human being without anyone knowing for sure what this guy even did says enough. The woman says she was raped, so it must be true. The woman says she was "forced to marry", a ridiculous statement even in the 90's, and people believe her instantly. She says she didn't mean for the man to get killed and all the responsibility lies with her ex-husband, people believe he…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
