I've been there. It's beautiful. The men are workhorses yes, maybe even moreso than American work culture, but they're happy. They don't have the death in their eyes that I was told to find. Their lives seemed like their own. Entire video game arcades filled with men in suits coming back from work, tiny amusement parks attended by men with no families in sight.
