Went on two dates with a guy who would regularly donate blood. He clearly thought he was Jesus because of this, however, he made an absolutely disgusting comment in the bedroom showing those LV colours. So the odd act of kindness isn't really a measure of a good character. Especially if they're broadcasting those acts of kindness as if they're God's gift

I can't remember where I saw it but there's a quote - 'if you're thinking about impressing a guy, don't.' I think about this often especially when I find myself curating my posts based on what a guy I'm seeing at the time might like. Whenever I feel like I'm doing something to try to impress a man, instead, I just...don't. It's saved me a lot of time 🙌

I own my home. My mum instilled in me quite young that I should be self-sufficient. But sometimes I look at my friend's relationships and get jealous that they have built things up together like buying property. Reading this story, however, reminds me that I've not missed out on anything other than the huge risk that one day a guy could turn round and tell me to get out of 'his' house. Fuck. That. Noise.

I was seeing a guy briefly very recently who would barely reply to my messages, he'd either leave me on read or be online and not open them. But he'd have no problem calling me instead where he'd then only talk about himself. He had no problem ignoring my messages but I was meant to drop everything to take 30min calls so he could go on about himself? Come to think of it, this is painfully red. There were a million other pink/red flags tbh. I blocked/deleted far too late 😔

That's amazing, go you! Mine is a sweetheart but I still feel lacking in the physical sense. Especially since she doesn't cuddle me, haha.

I've got a cat 😂 and don't get me wrong, she's incredible. As much as I adore her, there's still this huge gap when I want a cuddle

I love this so much but I'm struggling with the idea that I'll be alone forever. It looks very likely for me and I'm not as OK with it, it keeps me up at night. She's right though, I have everything and a man would need to be perfect to top what I can provide for myself. But I crave human touch so badly that it's become all I think about. So much so that I can feel my standards slowly slipping. Some days I don't feel like the queen I'm telling all my friends to be. How do I get to this level of …

I saw this post and the girl is in the comments section saying she does this 'out of the kindness of my heart'. Like, girl, you're not helping us though... You're making it so much easier for men to mask their true intentions and lack of personalities. You're helping disguise red flags. Wtf are you doing??

Exactly! Most people who live like this in the first place clearly don't prioritise cleanliness or tidiness. Someone performing a huge spring clean won't change another person's mindset they've had for years

Couldn't be more accurate. This from a conversation I had with a guy from OLD a few months back 🙄

Or like, eat twice as much but still expect to split the bill. Especially in a relationship! It means that literally every time you go out, you're paying double for your food and he's paying half for his fucking mountain of food. My ex used to do this, even split the bill on our anniversary. I'm not over the ridiculousness of that 🙄

These are all fantastic! Thank you! Loads of these are frame-worthy and I already know where 'look in the mirror and remember who the fuck you are' is going 😂💪 Also love: We have to take responsibility for what we tolerate. One day you will wake up and wonder why you were so sad over someone so unworthy of your energy. So true!

My gym has a 'youth hour' where over 16s are allowed in on Friday afternoons. Yesterday I was running on the treadmill and these boys decided to use the treadmills behind me. They were loudly talking about running behind me for 'inspiration'. So basically staring at my ass. I ignored it but it upset me that boys this young think behaviour like this is OK. Like, where did you learn that shit?

I had an ex who would yell at me during arguments 'I don't cheat on you, I don't hit you! Why do you act like I'm awful to you?!' Erm...bcause you're fucking horrible to me in all other respects! Do you want a candy bar for not cheating on or hitting me??

I broke up with an ex a few years ago. He gaslit me constantly but the final straw for me was him screaming at me at midnight in my parents home about how he couldn't get a job 'because it would interfere with his life' 🙄 when I went over to his house the next morning and finally dumped him, he genuinely said to me 'I don't know who to blame'. I've never forgotten those words. How could you believe you're such a victim in your own life that someone wanting to break up with you is not your own fa…

Oh god you're right, I missed that picture. Ugh. The type of pic I keep seeing the most on OLD is where they're sat on the sofa looking away. You're not fooling anyone, you took that picture. You took several to get an angle that makes it look like someone took a candid shot of you 😂🙄

Those 2.5 years years may have felt wasted but don't waste any more of your own time berating yourself for not 'seeing it sooner'. This is something I struggle with so I get what you mean, but don't ruminate. Learn, grow, spot the signs in future but don't beat your past self up!

Yes! This! It'll do wonders in helping you move on and clear your head of his BS. And bear in mind, he's trying to guilt you as he knows you'd see that status. Everything in your post screams how utterly selfish this guy is and how little he cared about you. You don't owe him a bloody thing! Move on, keep your head high and treat yourself the way you deserve to be treated ❤️

I'm suddenly reminded of one of my exes who split our anniversary meal with me...🙄 And complained the whole meal about some nonsense I can't quite recall...

This is what I'm thinking. There have been so many guys where I've just known during the walk up that they're not right (off-vibe, not like their pics, zero attraction in person). I've wanted to just turn around and go home 🙄

This took a nice turn with your relationship! I'm sorry it didn't work out though. As for the original guy, holy balls, the audacity! I once had a guy stand me up on a 2nd date. When I messaged him at 6pm asking where he was, he said 'I thought it was 7pm we agreed on'. So I say, ok no worries I'll grab a drink and watch my friend's band play. 7pm rolls around and he still doesn't show up... I messaged again and he gave me a clearly bs excuse and offered to make it up to me. Pickmeisha-me gave h…

Exactly! 🙌 Also fuck this idea that we need to be nice 'in case he turns nasty'. We have to learn not to do this. We shouldn't always have to be placating men's ego through worry of reprisal. They've got to learn not to throw their toys out of the pram just because someone doesn't like them.

See, I went on a date the other week where the guy was considerably larger than his pics and larger than when I'd met him a year before (he's a friend of a friend). I wouldn't have minded but I workout pretty hard and had had lots of conversation beforehand via WhatsApp centered around working out...he made it seem as if he was into fitness. I knew walking up to him that I wasn't attracted and I think if we hadn't had mutual friends, I'd have loved to have just turned around and gone home. I agr…

Thank you for this! I broke up with my bf a few months ago and have been through every emotion it seems. Feeling OK and genuinely relieved I did it to feeling utterly depressed and, more recently, painfully lovely and like I won't do better (because the guys on OLD are all just LV/NV 🙄). I keep feeling pangs of wanting to be back with him when I remember the cute parts of our relationship but then I remember that my basic (very important) needs weren't being met. Trying to remember it's ok to be…

Second this! I'm still only half way through because there's a lot of hard truth to digest. It's an incredible read and is definitely helping me through my break up, through my pick me ways, and through relationships with others in general. Can't recommend highly enough!

A guy on OLD the other day decided to pour out the details of his divorce and that they 'should never have gotten married' 🙄Bear in mind this was about 5 messages in... Suffice it to say, I stopped messaging.

Here's my version of this. He would reply with one line only once a day. Usually in the evening. I blocked him after I sent this last one. I think he must have had a gf to only be messaging once a day, probably when he'd nip off to the loo. It's small but it's a big step for me to just tell a guy straight 'nah'.

It's an absolute joke/utter shit show on there. Don't get me wrong, I'm mindlessly swiping at this point out of boredom because I know full well that it's filled with NV/LV manboys. But this one just shocked me. This 50% will be based upon the 4 questions he bothered to answer. You're right, it's the audacity across the board. This prick who broadcasts unashamedly that he's a cheating POS and the platform for recommending this POS to the world.

Yes! Exactly! I'm only recently realising how being on my own is not only OK but suiting me better, despite living in a world that favours couples. Being truly happy on my own is becoming my new goal rather than getting married and settling down (like I dreamed of as a kid). Queen shit doesn't happen over night by any means.

There really is something about 30. I've been reading Women Dont Owe You Pretty and I feel that reading that, combined with my birthday (plus being on FDS), has just switched my thinking. Now is just not the time to settle for NV/LV. Hope your birthday was lovely btw!
