How much of this is down to how many people are in unhealthy relationships? In a healthy relationship there is a reasonable assumption of consent. As in you know what your partner wants. No sane person asks their partner if they want a kiss when they are leaving the house for work in the morning, they just do it

Depends on the situation and the type of tears. Tears of grief at your fathers funeral, tears of joy holding you newborn baby. Absolutely fine, and will be noted if you don’t, like ‘are you dead inside?’ Hysterical tears of confusion, anger and fear because you’ve lost you job. No, not fine. You need to man the fuck up and handle yourself

The main thing is the price of housing (in the uk at least) Single men a more likely to be willing to live in a not so desirable location to save money on housing so they have more disposable income. Women on the other hand aren’t as comfortable living in a rough neighbourhood. Same goes for a fixer upper, men are usually more capable of doing DIY so could buy an older property and fix it up, a lot of single women would have to budget for the expense to pay a builder

No, you’ve misunderstood. Being a worker is defined by doing work. A worker is someone who works without ownership of the means of production, they receive compensation for their labour. An owner, owns the means of production. An owner may or may not work. An owner receives profit as a return on their investment But it is free. There is no need to pay for porn. Anyone who does is a simp

No they’re not workers. They are owners. There is a difference. But still all of that can be obtained for free. Someone else will have paid for it and shared it online. So there is no need to pay for porn

Give me a link to him saying ‘white men are more naturally competent than women or people of colour’ You can’t, because he’s never said that. Give me a link to him saying ‘you shouldn’t bother to debate women because women can do whatever they want because you can’t hit a woman’ You can’t, because he’s never said that either. What’s happened in both these instances is you’ve misunderstood the point he was trying to make. That’s okay. But your misunderstanding doesn’t make him sexist or racist.

Being anti ‘woke’ isn’t misogynistic or ‘red pilled’ take his position on transgenderism. He’s against compelled speech. And I assume his opinion would be something like a trans woman isn’t a ‘real’ woman. So he’s on the same ‘side’ as trans exclusionary radical feminists (terfs) so how can someone on the same side as feminists be misogynistic?
/r/ExRedPill29/09/23 11:56 PM

Well ‘red pill’ can vary from quite reasonable and logical views. Such as ‘women don’t want a jobless loser with no ambition, so get your life in order and become someone she respects’. But the other end is ‘all women are gold digging sluts, so make loads of money and use that to attract and control her’

Views are a spectrum, including red pill views. So if I were to say I’m a conservative, you would make assumptions on what I believe. But those assumptions are based on where you are on that spectrum, and are unlikely to be reflective of my actual beliefs. If I were to than say I’m a British conservative, that might change what you think my beliefs are, if I were to say I’m an atheist that would further change what you think my beliefs are. That’s true. Another thing is it’s so easy for them to end up really entitled. It’s not really their fault, if everyone was nice to me because I was hot, I’d soon get used to it and start to expect it all the time. I think life is a bit of a tight rope for a beautiful woman. Trying to be taken seriously at work, without being a bitch about it. Trying to find a partner when literally every man wants you and will lie through their teeth. Trying to have platonic relationships and professional work …

Well there is such a thing as ‘pretty privilege’ it’s basically that good looking women have an advantage over men and unattractive women in so much as people are more sympathetic to them and give them more opportunities etc. But it’s a double edged sword, because guys are only nice to then because they want to have sex with them, and will lie to them in order to get sex out of them. Ultimately a shrewd, good looking woman can use it to her advantage.

It’s not that they are comedies, it’s that in the examples you’ve given the creators of these shows are ‘justified’ in their development of certain characters for the purpose of entertaining people. They aren’t trying to portray ‘men’ in either a positive or negative light. It’s not that deep. In advertising they are trying to sell people something, usually women, not portray ‘men’. And when they stray from that goal there tends to be a backlash. Like the whole Gillette commercial that was a lec…

They are not men. They’re teenagers, most teenagers are idiots, they are supposed to get up to shenanigans for comedy affect. Yeah Jazz is a one dimensional character, because he is a bit part. But all the characters in a 30 minute comedy/light entertainment show are pretty much one dimensional. Isn’t the daughter Hilary just an air head rich girl? There really isn’t an issue. As I said the shows you mentioned are all comedies. It’s not that deep.
/r/MensRights21/09/23 07:09 PM

Chill out mate, all these tv shows are comedies. It’s necessary to have idiotic behaviour as a vessel for comedy like Carlton doing his stupid dance. But at the same time that same show has a positive portrayal of masculinity by having Uncle Phil being a good father and role model. You’re focusing your attention in the wrong place looking for an issue that isn’t there

The system is biased in favour of people in power who have money and influence. And biased against everyone else. Gender doesn’t come into it. It’s about class. It’s one club and you ain’t in it.

I think ‘sex therapy’ can probably be replaced with simply communicating honestly, in good faith and constructively with your partner about sex, love and affection. Tell each other what you like and don’t like, what behaviour turns you on or off, what things in life stress you out and how can help with that stress. Have reasonable expectations of each other and trying to focus on the positives things your partner is doing

Prison rape has nothing to do with this scenario. The point is that women are afraid walking alone at night, because a man could potentially overpower them and rape them. Men aren’t. Because a man getting attacked and having his wallet stolen, doesn’t have the same lasting psychological impact on him, that a rape victim’s ordeal has on her. Not have that fear IS a privilege
/r/MensRights02/09/23 09:31 PM

It doesn’t matter if they are irrational or not. A fear is a fear, and the lack of a fear IS the privilege
/r/MensRights02/09/23 06:32 PM

I don’t fear heights, and I agree that that is a privilege. However that’s no specific to my gender. Being unafraid walking alone at night, versus being afraid when walking alone at night is rooted in gender. And based off the physical differences between men and women.
/r/MensRights02/09/23 05:01 PM
-4

As I said the statistics are irrelevant, women feel unsafe, because they are weaker and the severity of the attack would be worse, however unlikely it is to actually happen. Men don’t have that fear, and that is a legitimate privilege
/r/MensRights02/09/23 04:21 PM
-4

The end result is nowhere near the same. Getting beat up and having an insured phone stolen isn’t as traumatic as rape and or murder. The statistics are irrelevant, it’s more about the fear. Women are afraid walking at night, men aren’t. Weather that fear in unfounded or not doesn’t matter. The fear is real, men not having that fear is the privilege
/r/MensRights02/09/23 02:52 PM
-1

I can walk home alone at night without any fear. I know a man is more likely to be attacked by a stranger than a woman, but the difference is what is the likely severity of that attack? Maybe I get beat up and my wallet and phone stolen, but it’s 50/50 that I win the fight and run to safety. Either way it’s distressing, but I’ll be fine. If a woman gets attacked walking home alone at night, we all know how that story will end. The difference in physical strength between men and women is absolute…

Working together to overcome a problem and controlling your temper to avoid saying something in anger are simply the way all grown up behave in a relationship. Neither of those things are being good a conflict, they are the bare minimum
/r/ExRedPill01/09/23 06:18 PM

Can you define what you mean by ‘good at conflict’? How is having faith a good thing? I mean being a good Christian or whatever your religion is, would clearly be a good thing, but simply believing in god isn’t a good thing on its own

/r/ExRedPill29/08/23 08:28 AM

Are you sure you’re not reading too much into this? I mean you both seem to agree this is more of a temporary casual relationship as one of you is moving, some of his avoidance and not wanting to answer questions about himself could be some self preservation as he knows this will end soon so not getting too close? Some of the jealousy could also be because of this pending end of this relationship. Probably healthier to not see each other to be honest

It’s not about being mean or cruel. To me ‘brutally honest’ is a expression that simply means giving someone the truth, even if it’s painful. I’ll give an example from my childhood. I like boxing, as a kid I used to go to a gym and participate in competitions and all that, I fucking loved it. My dad would drive me to the gym, and when I would have a match he’d come and watch, never missed one my fights. ‘A parent should always be telling their children how wonderful they are’ I’m gonna have to disagree on this. I know a couple of people who are kind of delusional, quite entitled, a little arrogant and can’t handle even gentle criticism because the think they are ‘wonderful’ because mummy said so. Building up someone’s self esteem and confidence with encouragement and praise is great, but telling someone they are wonderful has to be balanced with a healthy dose of reality.

It’s not forever. You have to play the long game. Minimise your income now, and focus your attention towards putting yourself into a position to maximise your income in the future, when you are not obligated to pay your ex. Quit work, get a part time gig, go back to college, earn twice as much in 10 years

That’s bullshit. You absolutely should have a relationship. I’m not the most empathetic person, it’s fine, you just both need to be aware of it and communicate directly and listen actively. Empathy is about sharing what the other person feels. It’s actually quite easy to do when that other person tells you exactly what they feel and why they feel it.

In a time of national crisis conscription may well be necessary. I also don’t really see a problem with it being exclusively male either. I personally don’t think women should be on the frontline in war. Because even today with modern technology soldiers are still trained to use and carry a bayonet for a reason, ultimately in combat it might come down to killing the enemy with a sharp pointy thing. Depends on so many other factors. For example if a man has children himself then a woman who also has children would be ideal as she is more likely to be understanding that this man has other commitments regarding his time and finances etc. Or for a man who doesn’t want children than a woman who already has had children could be ideal as she has already scratched that itch, but this would really be dependent on the age of said children. ‘But we don’t really have a word, or even a concept in society for a woman who respects a man and treat men right’ Yes we do, we call those women ladies. Calling a woman a lady is a soft compliment, much like calling a man a gentleman. Not all women are ladies, but some are, and they’re amazing

So what? A baby still feels pain and discomfort. But it’s entirely irrelevant, what matters is that a decision is made about a man’s body without him. I’ve lost the tip of my little finger, it was an accident at work. It’s had no negative impact whatsoever on my life. If anything I prefer it, I scare my nieces and nephews with it for a joke. If my parents had decided to cut off the tip of my finger as a baby, I would have been removed from their custody by child services
/r/MensRights16/05/23 08:54 PM

It’s not a bigger ordeal, it’s the same ordeal, you just can’t remember it as a baby. And a baby can’t articulate the experience the way an adult can. But even if what you say is true, the ‘drawbacks’ are insignificant compared the to violation of your human right to bodily autonomy.

You prefer to be circumcised, fine. But would you not prefer to be given the choice? I think that’s the problem people have with circumcision. It’s about consent. You didn’t give consent to an irreversible procedure, that decision was made for you. Now parents make decisions for their children all the time, but circumcision isn’t a necessary procedure and the child can choose to have it done in adulthood, like you could have.

Some of it is mathematics. Go look at the demographics there are more young men than there are young women. Then it evens out and flips so there are more older women than there are older men. Some of it is about definitions, a man might be ‘seeing someone’ and still consider himself single, that woman he is seeing considers the situation as a relationship. Men who are reluctant to partner with high-achieving women, leaving these women single for many years. This is the bit that really pisses me off! I disagree entirely with your last point. Street fights are usually over in seconds. Someone who knows what they are doing can end it with a quick 1-2. That’s entirely about skill. Usually you’ve got one drunk guy who thinks he’s a hard case, who’s never been punched before, and he’s picked a fight with a trained boxer it’s over in seconds
/r/MensRights23/03/23 04:10 PM

Weight classes for fighters of at least somewhat equal abilities. My point is if someone doesn’t know how to punch their size is irrelevant. An ‘arm punch’ vs a punch from someone who’s down on their heels with knuckles turned over. Boxing is probably the best example of this, if someone has never been in a boxing gym they won’t know footwork because it’s counter intuitive.

You’d be surprised at how even a fight between two men of different sizes and absolute strength actually is. The difference is in skill, experience and martial training. Conversely there are plenty of 20 year old men who would love to date a 23 year old woman, but there are very few 23 year old women who would want to date a 20 year old man. Younger women absolutely have more options than younger men. Younger women have more options than older women. But older men have more options than younge…

Not really a case of a man not willingly to date older. When I was younger, older women weren’t interested. Only younger and my own age. Now I’m older all women are interested, and the age bracket has widened because 10 years difference is nothing in your mid 20’s onwards. When I was younger I was limited by the women who would give me the time of day, based off of their preferences. These days any single woman seems to consider me as a potential, I’m limited by my own preferences, for me it’s o…

I get what you’re saying but the I think the difference in size of the age bracket outweighs the difference. Coupled with the younger women who want an older man. When I was 20, only 18, 19 and 20 year old were interested. But some of them were in a relationship and some of them wanted men older than me. And I was competing against men older than me, with a decent job, a car and their own place to live. I had none of that stuff

I’m not so sure, I’m 39 and it’s much easier for me now then ever. Women seem to be far more keen on me today compared to 20 years ago. Then there is the sheer volume of women. When is was 20 only women around my age were interested. Now I’m nearly 40, I’d say my age group of potential partners is from about 30 to 45 so it’s just a case of way more women would interested in me compared to years ago

Do not take steroids!!!!! Eat a sensible diet, and get some exercise or physical activity in every day. That’s it, you don’t need a 6pack or huge muscles. Just be reasonably fit and healthy. You only get one body to enjoy it and look after it. And it’s good for the soul to treat yourself to a beer and ice cream.

It doesn’t, let’s face it we’ve all been incels at some point in time. Unless every time you’ve ever wanted sex you’ve got it. That’s not really the case for anyone. Men get rejected all the time, we have ups and downs with women, dating and relationships. We’ve all had dry spells. Yes there are some particularly lonely men out there. But I don’t think collectively they are a real danger to anyone. I hate the way society views lonely men who are unsuccessful with women as dangerous.

Most people are seduced into various ideologies because that ideology will have some truth to it. So listeners will think ‘well they’re right about this part, so they’re right about everything’ Then other people will say ‘it’s ALL bullshit’ this then confirms in their beliefs that everyone else is wrong, and that everyone has been lying to them. Because other people are denying the true parts of the ideology that they are buying into. So they double down and delve deeper into it. So don’t deny t…

Why do you want him to ‘embrace feminism’? There are more than two options/opinions/ideologies. It’s not a case of either be a feminist or hate women. Life is never that black or white, it’s usually very very grey!

Of course going back to the father is on the table. Unless she’s a widow. But the main point is to not endorse single mothers or blended families. Shame them so that other don’t follow suit

I think the idea would be to not get divorced in the first place. Or get back together with the actual father.

Some might be traditional social conservatives who genuinely concerned about society. They believe that single parent households and blended families are less than ideal for creating stable environments for children, when compared to married couples forming strong family units. Ultimately we live in a fairly liberal society and traditional family values have taken a back seat. Every now and then people will pushback against it. And criticism of single parents is one way of doing it

I actually think most men are fine with women earning more. It only becomes an issue for women who don’t want to ‘date down’. While it’s certainly not every woman, but it’s a common theme that as a women becomes more successful she considers her dating pool to shrink.

Who is the named as the father on his birth certificate? When your son was 2 years old, who did he call daddy? You’re current husband? Or your ex husband? ‘I just want him back in my arms loving me again’ what the fuck? That doesn’t sound like a healthy mother - grown up son relationship! And you’re makes it about you, which is fucked up. You want him to love you, instead focus on him being okay mentally.

Who is the father on your sons birth certificate? His real dad? Or your ex husband? Did your son ever think of your ex husband as his father? If so this is paternity fraud. And you’ve lied to your son about who he is. Of course he will be pissed and probably never speak to you again. If I’ve misunderstood you, and you son has grown up knowing his real father (your current husband) is his father, but you were married before. And now he’s found out he is the product of an affair and born out of we…

Of course your son is upset with you. If I found out my mother had lied to me my whole life, about who I am and where I come from, I’d probably never speak to her again.

On the wasting time and money side of things I tend to go on cheap and casual dates at first. Midweek drinks in a pub for a first date, it’s fairly cheap if I’m paying for it all and haven’t wasted any of my weekend if it’s not a match. Second date something in daytime, a walk and coffee or lunch, again still fairly cheap. And if she hadn’t paid for anything at this point, I’m out!

My advice is smile and nod. You don’t have to agree with people to make them think you agree with them. I get it, you want to stand your ground and push back. But don’t do it to your own detriment and get suspended. You don’t have to fight every battle, the aim is to win the war. To me ‘winning’ is getting yourself into a position where you don’t have to take shit of anybody. So focus on where you want to be in the future and work towards that. Sometimes you might have to remind yourself that ‘y…

I think it comes down to the severity of trauma that the woman receives in DV It’s a bit like how a man is more like to be attacked in the street, but me being beaten up and robbed in the street, while it must be an awful experience, isn’t as traumatic as a woman being dragged into the bushes beaten up and raped. That’s why women are afraid of walking alone at night, and I’m not, even though I’m more likely to be attacked. The same with domestic violence, if my girlfriend tried to beat up, yeah …

This is where I personally don’t agree with or understand the reasoning behind the boundary. The purpose of interacting with the guy (talking and flirting) is that she is seen as a prospect for sexual conquest. She wants to be seen as desirable and receive attention. So then the guy says ‘you want a drink?’ She says ‘no’ ‘talking and flirting is all you’re going to get’ then the thing she wants, that you’re okay with (talking and flirting) ends. It’s kind of counterintuitive, you want her to tal…

But leading a guy on is about more than just the free drink, it’s also the attention. That’s kind of the whole point. A woman in your wife’s situation want to feel like she’s ‘still got it’ In reality ‘being clear with men that talking and flirting is all they are going to get’ is kind of the nail in the coffin to the ‘talking and flirting’

It’s a little insecure. The only rule I have had with girlfriends has been, ‘don’t kiss, don’t suck and don’t fuck anyone’ If she can get some free drinks and a bunch of attention from some dudes, then good for her, saves some money! She’s on holiday with her friends, the whole point is to let loose and have some fun. If I were you I wouldn’t worry about it. If you love and trust her and she loves and trusts you, then you’ve got nothing to worry about. But everyone is different, as long as both …

What are you talking about? If you approach a woman in a supermarket, and she thinks ‘this guy is a creep’ there is no misconception at all. It’s how she perceived your behaviour. If she says ‘not interested, you’re creepy’ what you gonna do? Explain how her feeing uncomfortable is completely normal, and that you’re not a creep, because you weren’t too pushy about it! And it’s her perception that is wrong? And this would somehow change her mind, and she’ll say ‘oh yeah! You’re right, now you’ve …

Why? Approaching someone who doesn’t want to be bothered is creepy. Fair enough you can only find out if they want to be approached if you actually approach them. BUT you accept that in all likelihood she doesn’t want to be approached in this situation. So logically you must accept you are in all likelihood you will make her uncomfortable, and your doing it anyway, so it’s creepy behaviour

I think a lot of these arguments a too hypothetical, to the point of not really being applicable to most people. Is a marriage entirely transactional? No, but it is to a certain extent. Is that ‘transaction’ extended to sexual activity? Well yes, but only sometimes. Is money and finance a major part of a marriage? Yes, it’s a major part of life. Wasn’t there some survey that had ‘doing the washing up’ as one of the sexiest things a man can do? Is a man standing at kitchen sink sexy? No, but an i…

You can try. But don’t complain when you’re unsuccessful, or moan about being labelled as ‘creepy’. And cry that ‘nothing works’ or ‘woman’s standards are to high’ or ‘they only care about looks’ You’re choosing to approach a woman who is most likely going to be uninterested, so you’re probably going to make her feel uncomfortable. So expect to have a negative experience/outcome

No idea. But life isn’t a rom com, or a light hearted article in a woman’s magazine. People go to the supermarket to buy food, or a hardware store to buy stuff to maintain their homes.

You never going to she her again is not going to change the fact that a woman buying some food and cleaning supplies, on her way home from work, on Tuesday night, isn’t going to feel much like talking to anyone. She wants to get her shit, go home, eat dinner, have a bath and watch some tv.

Pubs, bars and clubs are social environments. It’s perfectly normal to meet and talk to strangers in these environments. The word ‘pub’ is short for public house, it’s a house where members of the public come together to socialise. The purpose of going to any of these places is to be sociable, so approaching women here is normal. Anecdotally every relationship I’ve ever had, has began with me talking to a woman I’ve never met before, in a pub. Supermarkets are a mental place to try to chat a gir…

Someone who cheats on you isn’t the love of your life. As a 39 year old man I will tell you the absolute truth from my perspective, for whatever it’s worth. Yes younger women are better looking than older women. HOWEVER, younger women are fucking morons! A woman approximately my age is infinitely more attractive than a woman 10 to 20 years younger. Attraction, desirability and sensuality are about a whole lot more than youth and looks. The red pill types will say that an older woman can’t compet…

No it’s not. It depends entirely on the location and situation. A supermarket is as you say, an imposition on someone’s time. She just wants get her groceries, not get picked up by some random dude. But a pub, bar or club, it’s absolutely fine to approach a woman. It’s a social environment, where normal people expect to talk to other people who are there. Just don’t get so drunk you can’t read her responsiveness accurately.
