Reddit is not a good source for this type of stuff. For me and my group of male friends. An initial few months without sex is very normal and encouraged.

You keep implying that men are pressuring women to have sex earlier than the women want, and that women are helpless to acquiesce, or else they'll never get a guy to stick around. I think this is really sexist to think. Why can't a woman just say no? I'm a man in my late 20s, and it would be a very attractive trait to me for a woman to actually want an emotional connection before sex, and have a history of rejecting this sort of peer pressure that you describe. Isn't wanting a relationship a part of your personality? What if this new person you found used to be abusive, are they allowed to get out due to the "past is the past" mentality? Just because they were never abusive to you?
