This is awesome! There are a lot of gems in here. From the perspective of a woman, your approach would definitely work on me. Is there any chance you could write something similar with advice to women on how to seduce men?

I was about to comment and ask you the same thing!! Please seriously consider!! There's a wealth of information for men, and a scarcity of equivalent information for women other than to be skinny and focus on their appearance. You're a great writer and very intelligent. I imagine you'd get a good response to an article directed to women.

I created a thread in the Red Pill forum discussing this topic. You might find it of interest: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/5l7o57/a_different_perspective_on_borderline_women/?utm_content=title&utm_medium=user&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=frontpage

1) go no contact. delete his phone number, social media, everything that reminds you of him. 2) focus on becoming the best version of yourself possible - inside and out. This means being as fit and healthy as you can be, exploring interests/hobbies, developing yourself intellectually. 3) meet other people - it's the quickest and most effective way

Okay, well even though there are some overlaps in symptoms bipolar and bpd are quite different in the way they develop and are treated. If she has bipolar disorder, then she definitely needs to be on medication and continue taking them even when she feels better. She needs a combination of an antidepressant and a mood stabiliser. If you feel that the particular medication she is taking is making her worse, then it might be the wrong medication for her and she might need to try a different one. O…

I'm happy to provide info that may help, but firstly I just want to understand... has she actually been diagnosed as having BPD or is this something you just suspect at this stage? Also, has she been diagnosed with any other comorbid disorders (e.g. bipolar, depression, anxiety etc)?

I understand exactly how you feel. I have also known someone who created what seemed like a physiological addiction in me. It's like a rush of dopamine whenever you interact with them and you crave the stimulation they provide. Everybody else seems so mundane in comparison. As tempting as it is, the worst thing you can do is to continue to think about her all the time. Since you can't actually actively stop thinking about someone, the best thing you can to do is to crowd your mind with other tho…

okay, so the chance of NOT winning each attempt = 0.95, to the power of the number of attempts = 20 gives you the total probability of NOT winning after 20 attempts. That makes sense. However, I would expect the inverse to be true (probably the wrong terminology to be using, but whatever). How come 0.0520 doesn't equal 0.641514?

Yeah okay, this makes sense to me. Thanks for explaining. I guess this applies to everyone. There's a certain degree of strength required to allow yourself to fully open up to another person and expose your vulnerabilities.

I'm genuinely curious... why would you want to be vulnerable? Relaxed and feminine I understand, but "vulnerable" isn't something I'd ever aspire to be.

I don't agree that every woman would cheat. I think the vast majority wouldn't. I think he's overreacted to the situation and you shouldn't be the one who is feeling stressed about it. It's entirely his problem.

no guy is going to believe that it's something which you enjoy reading or watching but not actually happening to you Of course he should believe it! It's very common for people to get turned on by things that they wouldn't want to do in real life. There's nothing shameful in what you did. If you were reading porn and then chose to masturbate while he was sleeping next to you, instead of waking him, then I can understand that this might bother him slightly. You read stuff that turned you on and t…

I don't think there's anything wrong with him watching porn on his phone either. Especially if he's really turned on and doesn't want to wake you. I just don't find either activity (him watching porn or you reading those stories) to be disrespectful to the other partner. Especially since it's something that you appear to have openly discussed previously. It's not something you do in secret.

I honestly can't comprehend why your behaviour might be considered disrespectful to him. Why does this upset him? I don't think you did anything wrong and you shouldn't feel disgusted with yourself at all.

Yes - MRI scans have demonstrated that brain structures amongst people with BPD are abnormal. A lot of research has been done on this. Here are some good articles: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/news/science-news/2008/emotion-regulating-circuit-weakened-in-borderline-personality-disorder.shtml https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1863557/ source: http://www.biologicalpsychiatryjournal.com/article/S0006-3223(02)01743-2/abstract?cc=y= This further supports the argument that it's not a "personali…

BPD normally cannot be effectively treated with medication, but maybe you're a rare exception. Maybe you've been misdiagnosed, or maybe you're a unicorn No, I'm not an exception. Medication can and does effectively treat the symptoms associated with BPD. Not a single fucking word coming out of your mouth should be believed It doesn't matter whether you think I can be believed or not. There is plenty of published scientific research confirming this. Refer to the following: (source: https://www.nc…

Thanks for your feedback and I really appreciate your concern, but I can honestly say that there is no comment here that makes me feel bad about myself in the slightest and I don't think that anyone could write anything on this forum that would do so. As much as I care about validation etc, it's really only from people who I know and deeply respect. There are only a handful of people who trigger this need in me. I already have read all of the worst comments about people who have this condition t…

I haven't ruined any lives. Like I wrote earlier, I've never had a falling out or burnt bridges with anyone I've been close to, including family, friends and relationships.

I think the best thing you can do in that situation is to express your concerns, make them aware of what they might have, encourage them to seek a professional diagnosis and get help. If they are in denial or are unwilling to do those things, then as hard as it is, you need to let them go.

She actually agreed, but never followed through on it, which is why I broke up with her. In which case, you did the right thing. I firmly believe that if someone I care about has any kind of illness and they are actively doing everything they can to treat it, then I will give them all the support and encouragement they need. However, if they aren't doing what they can, then I'm going to try and emotionally detach myself until they are ready to help themselves. In any case, why are your partners …

Then I truly, genuinely sympathise with you. I have had my own negative dealings with people who have demonstrated symptoms of cluster B disorders (NPD and HPD). I've only ever known one other person who admitted they were diagnosed with BPD, but I didn't know her very well and from what I saw her life was pretty messed up (drugs, abusive partner, unemployed, unreliable). I also witnessed her cheating on her former partner, setting him back financially and eventually leaving him for someone else…

To clarify, when I wrote "all else is never the same" i was specifically referring to when you meet two different people. They are never going to be equal in every way. I 100% agree with what you're writing otherwise. This isn't an unfamiliar concept to me in the context you have described.

Do you not have sympathy for the folks that were victimized by those more extreme examples of BPD? Of course I do. I absolutely 100% do. I make no apologies for the people with BPD who victimized others. If you do, then why are you trying to quiet a very real concern? I'm not trying to quiet it. I think people should be able to openly discuss this and get support. I'm asking you to not assume everyone with BPD is like that. it's because warning people about BPD might impact you. And that's real …

I did read up about it and to be honest, I'm a little confused about how it applies in this case. Isn't it used in the context of economics? Can you show any examples where it has been used to describe human relationships? I am genuinely asking as I'm curious about the term.

Yeah - I agree with what you're writing. Statistically a person is probably less likely to have relationship issues with a person who doesn't have a serious mental illness than someone who does. But that's not what my post was about. There are exceptions to every rule. I don't care if you write "many women with BPD are trouble and should be avoided". I do care if you write "all women with BPD are evil and will make your life hell".

I'm not at all offended. Not in the slightest. I understand the point you are making, however it is unrealistic to suggest that you will ever find two people who are equal in all other ways.

quoted text "I have never heard of it being legitimately treatable. If it is than it's not a true personality disorder, or at the very least you're capable of chemically altering yourself into a better person, which is a good thing. Good for you." Yes it most certainly is. Google "dialectic behavioural therapy". quoted text "If you're actually a fully functioning, emotionally stable person with plenty of fulfilling real world relationships, why give a fuck what we think?" Because all other things are never equal. I'm not suggesting you actively seek out a partner with BPD, I'm suggesting that you don't automatically demonise them just because they have this condition. Not all people who have BPD behave in the way you have read about or potentially experienced yourself. You might be missing out on a rewarding relationship with someone who has a high level of self awareness, is managing their condition effectively and is on the path to full remission by actively tr…

quoted text "It's a personality disorder." Actually, there is a lot of evidence to suggest that this is not the case and there is an ongoing discussion to rename this condition. The fact that I'm virtually symptomless when I'm treated with medication suggests that there isn't anything wrong with my personality as such, but that I have a treatable mental condition.

Quoted text "Given other choices, why would someone with options ever get serious with someone with BPD?" Because it is a condition that doesn't define someone as an individual. Because individuals who have BPD may be completely capable of having loving, mutually rewarding relationships (as evident by my own experiences). Because there is no such thing as "normal". I would question, given other choices, why would someone with options ever get serious with someone who is narrow minded, blindly be…
