I'm just sharing my experiences so far- I'm 19 years old, so I'm speaking from the perspective of a 19 year old. As I gain more experience and try new things, if I find success I'll share those too. Yes, everyone is in a party mood including myself which makes it easier to pick up women. I'm sure there's a lot of guys on here who are my age who this could be of some help to (which it has been).

I also have had intense social anxiety my whole life, I've only begin to grow out if it in the last 18 months, and really in the last 5. I've realized the only way I can be happier with myself as a person and better my life is to force myself into situations that I find uncomfortable. I listened to a podcast a few months ago by Jordan Peterson, and one the ideas that has really stuck with me was that coming across things and opportunities that make you uncomfortable or generally uneasy are reall…

Thank you man. For me, I'm somewhat starting to get over the pure fuckboy phase. Sometimes I hook up with girls and feel kinda icky the next day if sober me doesn't find the girl nearly as hot as drunk me did. Also I've messed up a few relationships through hooking up with mutual friends. That's why I've somewhat started to go after girls that I consider really attractive (like a 7~ out of 10), then it's worth it for me. I mentioned it in the post, but two weekends ago this girl wanted me to go …

I keep good connections with girls and guys who I meet when I do get to do, and I offer them any parties that I come to know of from others. You get what you give. For me, I'm lucky and have a well connected roomate who is always happy to bring me along, but I've started finding my own parties these days just from keeping up with people I meet at parties that I was taken to.

You're absolutely correct; currently alcohol serves as the crutch that I use to overcome the anxiety and awkwardness that sober me still has. Alcohol really is a shortcut for me to jump over all of that and get right to what I want. I have however been actively trying to continue messaging/take girls out for dates, but my skills in that field are significantly less developed/refined than when I go out and drink. There's a girl that I met at a party this Saturday. I'm not particularly interested …

Hey man- I really appreciate that. Last year, I made it my primary goal to improve myself to a point where I was confident/happy enough in myself that I could consider myself attractive to others (in terms of working out, style, being witty, having some hobbies, doing well in school, etc...). It's taken a long time for me to really "discover" who I am, and I guess this is part of that process. Wish you all the best!

I didn't really talk about that part in this post. Yes it is a bad thing to some degree, but doing so drunk is helping me improve when sober, just because I'm putting myself into new situations. I've gone on a couple dates with girls I've met, and they've gone well- I also have a few female friends that I keep in contact with. My confidence as a person is increasing, but I guess it's at the max in a party atmosphere, which I'm fine with. Also I've partied sober a few times; while I'm not quite a…

When I started going, I knew almost no one at any party that I went to, and even still I see very few familiar faces; I just learned how to be friendly and people see that and are cool with you. Like I said if you stand around and seem out of place, then people can sense that. I've started to see the same people at parties though, and I always say hi. Last year, I had a grand total of 0 friends at university. I tried joining clubs, but I stopped attending after a while. I had cool roommates my f…

Yes, I for sure do. It goes away completely when I get buzzed. (don't worry I only drink in social situations where others drink). Day to day sometime I have really good days where I look at people while walking and smile and nod, and I think I'm a pretty good looking guy so people respond positively. Most days though I look down and am shy. It's going away as I expose myself to new situations though. In high school whenever my family had guests over I'd take my dog on a walk to avoid them or pl…
