Conservatives dislike porn and want their women in the kitchen. This isn't exactly news. I don't know why they bothered to look.

The problem isn't that the men joke. The problem is that when they joke, the joke is taken as the truth. How could it not? How can the society at large see that men are hurting if the men are laughing? Public funds go to sensitivity training instead of increasing workplace safety because the men don't complain. Men go to shit jobs that kill them because that is how they gain value as humans in our society. That is fundamentally fucked up. A male life really isn't worth any less than a female one…

..huh Feminism satire from buzzfeed is something I did not expect. Good for them.

Talked about male work related deaths in class a while ago. The consensus was that men are stupid and don't use the safety equipment. So yeah, it does carry into the professional world and yeah, it's hugely damaging. I hate this type of imagery and I don't care why people are opposed to it. I just want it gone. As a side note, it was men who were jovially joking about how much men suck. Working class men who definitely don't identify as feminist. As a gender we really need to stop using self dep…

being nice is a sign of our oppression, and that the key to liberation is to stop giving a fuck about being nice and just be more assertive, crude, mean, and masculine. Feminism is the red pill for women! It makes so much sense.

Farrel is awesome. He's been 'playing nice' and making progress on the issue. Is it surprising that he gets slandered? Did you think feminists would just go 'good point' and give? They use inane tactics to do it because they don't have valid ammunition. Facing opposition doesn't mean your efforts are null. The reaction from feminism is always going to be hostile. What matters is the reaction of the onlookers. Those who view the debate from the outside notice if one side is frothing at the…

Fathers Rights groups continue to promote the myth that courts are biased in favor of mothers. In litigated cases, father who sue for custody almost always win. In fact, fathers are often awarded sole custody even when sexual and physical abuse of the children is alleged and substantiated. According to The American Judges Association, 70% of the time the abuser convinces the court to give him custody. Fathers who sue for custody almost always win even when there is substantiated abuse? I must ad…

The thing about slinging mud is that you tend to get more on yourself than you do on your opponent. The unreasoned nature on modern day feminism is a huge part of their current disfavour. Let's not emulate them in that regard.

There is a difference between reasoned, even extreme, critique of feminist ideals and just flat-out calling the movement a disease without bothering to go into reasons why. One helps the movement and is the reason we have more space to argue now than we did 10 years ago. The other harms it. Elam has done his share of both. There is definitely a need for provocative writing on MR-issues. There may be a need for MR-extremists (I am on the fence on that issue). There is no need for MR-dogmaticists,…

"They started it" really mature. I wouldn't even have a problem with mudslinging if it had a chance in hell of actually working, but it doesn't. aVfM has done some good things, but this isn't one of them. Nobody bats a hundred, and that is ok. It's still better to do stuff than not do stuff. But let's not fail to call crap when we see crap.

'TRP' is often used both as term for PUA and a collectivist term for all of manosphere even on this forum. Frankly, I don't blame casual observers for getting things confused. http://www.avoiceformen.com/sexual-politics/the-muppets-kermit-swallows-the-red-pill/

Huh. Looks like I've been using 'redpill' as synonym for PUA. Not sure about how I feel about there being another collective term for things that don't really go together.

Hilary. What better way to show the world that the need for western feminism is over than a woman president? There's nothing that soils public images like a spotlight. Nothing that shows the value of an ideology like seeing it implemented. Let's give them some rope and they'll come down.

Eh. She can have those standards if she wants to. Won't turn out too well in the end I expect thou.:D And if she somehow does manage to catch a traditional man, that's one less idiot going after the sane women.

Thanks for this. It was nice to do something concrete about this issue, even if was only a very miniscule bit.

Yes it is. There is a lot of traditionalist opposition to the idea thou. Lot of the 'men should express more' stuff does have an accusatory tone thou. It's a really old idea and still I haven't seen anything that goes into the reasons why. And it's not like the reasons are hard to find once one let's go of the idea that men are to blame for everything.

Took a while to understand that the title refers to the contradiction of those two things and not suggesting that crying should be manly.
/r/MensRights23/09/15 07:39 PM

Nah. I have cried in front of a female and later hooked up with the same one. It's stigmatizing but nowhere near as much as is popularly believed.

Talking about problems does fix some problems. Additionally, talking about problems does sometimes bring help. Last month I complained to my friend about my computer breaking, and he had an extra he wasn't using. Guess what I am typing with? Another friend opened up about a fight with his room-mate and I let him stay on my couch for a night. Talking about problems can create a support network. It's a good survival strategy. No, the lack of communication isn't the only problem men have, like some…

Why would they? Crying works. And no, I am not talking emotional release here. I'm talking about the squaky wheel getting the grease. Sure women as a whole lose some respect every time an individual girl pulls this card, but individual needs trump collective ones.

If she was a man she would not have been sent to live with her aunt. 10 year old boy is old enough to work after all. And here she is advocating chivalry.. The animation of men rising to join the women was kinda sketchy too. Invoking the image of uplifting men while the talk itself failed to address mens issues at all. Does anybody know more about these 'husband schools'?

On feminists speaking about mens rights: It's not because the movement is somehow feeling guilty. Assigning human personality to a movement is kind of foolish. Feminism as a movement is hateful. Most feminists are just misguided. They actually think they are advocating equality. Personally, if feminism as a whole stopped fighting against mens rights I would have no problem with them. Sure, the movement is harmful in net as it stands now, but let's not forget that Christianity used to be hugely i…

Thanks.:) That seems to come from US Census Bureau. (Googled the source) If I am understanding it correctly, it's saying only 15% of marriages made in 2000-2010 end in divorce before year 7. Not exactly "only 15% end in divorce", but it's still more optimistic than many statistics.

Female teachers are supposed to be role models too. 'role model' is simply an adult kids can look up to. Female teachers do help kids interact with women in the future. The undervaluation of fatherhood is a huge problem, but let's not pretend it's the only problem we have. Single moms would still exist even if fathers were as valued as mothers. The presence of a father does not remove the need of other male role-models in kids lives. A male teacher is a really poor substitute for a father. That …

The least politically correct environments I have ever found myself in have been theatre practices. Nowhere have I been as free to express maleness. I imagine adding physical competition to that would be very appealing to those more interested in physical pursuits.

Who is shouting "misogynism"? Giving up seats is not mandatory. The girl was a bit rude. It's perfectly alright to be rude if one wants to. Resolting to physical violence in response is clearly wrong and against the law. This is not a gendered issue.

It's an article about Bachelor. People who watch that are women. The article is trying to boost the self-image of single mothers, not trying to convince anyone to actually date them.

Lean In is about behavioural modification and not about quotas. https://youtu.be/18uDutylDa4 Women do get discouraged from being assertive by society and this is a sensible way to correct the problem. And it is a problem. It's a MRA-problem as well as a womens-rights one. Do we want to fix the sentencing gap? Do we want to diminish the effects of disposability? It's in human nature to protect the (perceived) weak and hold the (perceived) strong hyper-accountable. If it's possible to affect cultu…
