Wear everything once then wash. Sure it's probably not eco friendly but at the same time your doing laundry more frequently isn't directly responsible for the millions of barrels of oil or chemicals companies dump into the ocean every year. You're also in a different financial playing field right now and everyone else is washing things probably after 1-2 wears. Furthermore certain things are absolutely NOT meant to be worn more than once per wash (workout clothes, lingerie, pajamas, etc). Simply…

OP I totally relate to your struggle. I too am the oldest sibling of south Asian parents and I've been the "talk back kid" more times than I can count. Here's what I think worked for me: I think it's important to validate your feelings. Anger is often a response when you feel powerless. Why do certain situations make you feel powerless? How can you reconcile this powerlessness? It's important to also be curious. Why do you feel angry? Really probe it, without judgment and as much self-compassion…

No. He's not that into you. Just unmatch and move on. Even if he is into you, he's not actively dating. Men get a 2 day grace period. No replies after 2 days? He's not actively interested in pursuing this relationship or he's just there to pass time. Also the texts from 11-2 am are 10000000% in booty call territory. Many of the men in my family are lawyers (some are 9-5 others 8-8) and they have time for 1 hr lunch breaks every. single. day. I work in healthcare (absurd and crazy shifts) and hav…

Early 30s is a good time to see your GP/PCP to make sure there aren't physical causes for the low libido (low hormones, ovarian cysts, etc). You'd be surprised how many women present to the doctor (something like 40% in the US) regarding low libido. It's good that you're doing something about it and I hope everything works out. As far as specific tips I recommend doing sensual but not sexual things; taking a bath, yoga, dancing, massages, even cooking. Just something that involves a lot of physi…

He doesn't want you to tell anyone because he's ashamed to be seen or associated with you. Please let that sink in. You deserve much better. You must cut him out of your life. The decision to keep him in your life is not neutral anymore; it's not like an old college boyfriend that's now a neighbor but you've both moved on; this is a guy that is actively hooking up with you but is ashamed to be associated with you in public. This is the time to ask some painful questions. Why do you think you des…

It's so fun! I think just trying to view it as something nice you do for yourself and truly savor it; I love pairing stuff that I haven't worn in a while or finding a creative way to put together an outfit. Having options helps. Put on music while you get ready. Take the time to notice yourself and appreciate the process--the feeling of the soft makeup brushes on your eyelids or the scent and warmth of a freshly washed sweater. It's such a pleasurable experience I don't even notice the time flyi…

They would at least buy you enough time to get into a new relationship (if that's your goal) or figure out a way forward. It depends on what your partner makes (professional degree (dentist, lawyer, doctor, etc) life insurance policies are up into the millions) and what's in the agreement and what assets they had going into the marriage (trust funds, mutual funds, etc). You might not need to work full-time as well; part-time work could be enough knowing you have the extra financial support. In t…

No. It will not. I think it was Oprah who is quoted to have said "if people show you who they are, believe them". They will not change. Also why do you want to spend your precious time waiting for this person to change when there are others out there that are ready for you now? I'd say if anything he's just using you. I'm sorry to say that because it sounds harsh but from his perspective it's a win-win. He has 0 consequences and only benefits.

I'm not saying to go to a lawyer but there is such a thing as a post-nuptial agreement. There is also life insurance. These are valid legal options to explore. I'd also talk to your partner about this being a concern. Most providers will try and make sure you'll be taken care of in their absence. In the meantime, some hobbies that can be easily monetized. Photography for example, or charcuterie board planning. A lot of the wealthy SAHW/SAHM in my area have little boutiques for all kinds of rando…

I think it's understandable to feel that way; I don't think it would be good to invalidate your feelings even if they're not 10000% rational. The measured approach would be to state how you're feeling and why, (ex "i felt like i was being taken advantage of because we usually split dates but this time I paid") and then ask for clarification ("should I have taken this as a joke? or should we discuss how we want to approach date nights/paying"?). It's not a fun conversation but it might be importa…

No currently the standard of care is a single-dose injection of ceftriaxone (Monocef). We used to treat it with the same antibiotic as chlamydia (single dose of azithromycin) but it's become resistant since the 1990's. But you're right that a lot of bacterial infections are trending towards antibiotic resistance.

I work in healthcare and #3 and #4 are just straight-up false. It's not an "unpopular opinion" it's just not factually true. The vagina has a mixture of smooth and striated muscle and neither muscle type will "stretch" with use. There's no such thing as a "stretched out" muscle because that's simply not how muscles work. People lose elasticity with time/aging due to menopause which causes vaginal atrophy (loss of the aforementioned muscle) due to lack of estrogen. Loss of collagen/elastin and th…

No, your friends sound pretty toxic. Some friendships aren't meant to last a lifetime and this seems like that type of friendship. You're better off without them, trust me. Focus this energy on doing what is best for you and your family and pursuing interests and hobbies that help you grow. You'll meet people who have similar interests and you'll likely make new and better (and less toxic!) friends.

I think it's called Why Men Don't Love Women Like You by G.L. Lambert. It's in Apple Books.

Completely agree. That's actually absurd; like even from a pure selfish standpoint, who would turn down free money for clout? But yes, it makes no sense to handle something you're not any good at if someone else is a) willing to help gladly and b) is significantly better at it. I'm not good with numbers, money, investments or any of those things, and guess what? I let the men in my life handle everything in regards to that while still making my feelings known (such as, "oh I really care about my…

Honestly, a lot of the book is just honestly true. I reasoned through the mindset chapter. You are the center of YOUR experience of the universe; repeating that to yourself each and every day until it feels like reality is what worked for me. I never thought I'd be the "center of the world" or anything but (and I think this was mentioned in the book in a different way) if I die, my perspective and my contribution to reality die with me. That's powerful stuff; it means I am a central part of my w…

I can't say as far as dating life, but in general day-to-day interactions, it was almost magical. The way I carried myself after reading that book; random people stopped me in the store and were like "wow, you're beautiful" or "have you been on the bachelor?". I'm literally average at best; I didn't change my hair/clothes/makeup in any significant way, and I was probably in a rush/had RBF all those times. The mindset of "I'm not the center of THE world but I am the center of mine" for some reaso…

I don't really have much experience in situations like this, but I do in healthcare; so depending on you and your husband's medical insurance, 12k is barely scratching the surface if you wish to give birth in a hospital in the US. It sounds like you're from the UK though ("flat" instead of "apartment" and "best mate") so perhaps it is cheaper because of the NHS. In that case, please disregard that point. I agree with what most people are saying here and that the mismatched sex drive is probably …
