Well the general consensus amongst the other officers is that, had she hit anyone else but me, they would have hit her back. Then 2 officers would have been gone, not one.

Passes for going to the chaplain's office. I was running two dorms by myself. I had just relieved first shift, and was finishing up my paperwork. Well I ran into Officer Washington tonight at the EZ Mart and he told me that the officers at the prison felt like she should have been arrested. He told me that the Unit Manager (head guy over the operation of all the cell blocks) came in and basically said that she should have been arrested. The Warden told me I could still put out a warrant for her arrest but I declined.

I am a Correctional Officer. My soul is perfectly intact. I have a strong set of morals, and I have never done anything that I wouldn't have a problem going home and telling my family about. Shit I even feel bad when I bust an inmate for contraband, but I still do it because it is my job. Let me ask you a question then... what do YOU do for a living? And why do you hate Law Enforcement Officers so much?

Pretty much yeah... I can see her doing it again. From the stories she has told me, she has a history of violent relationships with men. Even though those were personal and this is workplace, it is easy to see how the two could bleed over.

No I don't think so. I think I will face more of a bias from my fellow officers all the way around simply because I cost an officer her job. She has two kids and Christmas is coming up... From what I have heard, most of the officers are on my side in the issue, regardless of gender. I still feel guilty however.
