Martin Luther King said a lot of hateful things about white people. Sometimes when a group of people have to fight for their own rights, shit gets a little messy. I didn't mean to start a whole thing, just saying that by definition, feminism is about equality, and that there's still some women that stand by that.

That's an interesting thought. It's tough though because women around the world are still fighting for all of the same things feminists have been fighting for since the word first came to life. But yeah, I hesitate saying I'm a feminist irl, and when I do I usually clarify that I believe in equality.. Anyway, I'm not involved with any movements and I probably shouldn't have posted here, just pisses me off when people look at feminists based on the ones that popped up in herd the past few years.

I don't know that it's most feminists, but they're certainly a loud bunch. I'm not in the US so I'm not as familiar with whatever's happening there, but imo, women who are anti-men don't deserve to call themselves feminists. I'm sure the women who fought and rallied in the 60s and 70s would agree. I can't speak for every one though, I'm just saying there's some not-crazy feminists around.

From /r/all here. I agree with the majority of posts that I come across from this sub, like this one. A lot of men seem to hate on feminists, but seem to forget that the core of feminism is equality. Like you say, there's the ones that vouch for equality, and the idiots that think the opposite sex is evil. It sucks that there are all these immature women ruining the name of feminism. It just weakens their argument and makes them seem crazy. Goes for the dudes here too. If someone disagrees with …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
