The dude may be a football player but he’s got some rolls too...maybe he should look in the mirror. The whole “sliding into the insta DMs” thing is basically just shitty encounters with shitty people. She’s too hurt over something that means nothing.

It’s only privilege if you let her get away with it, tell her it’s rude. I can’t fathom assuming someone to pay for me, that’s not how I was raised to treat money. Always go dutch! Or split the bill, that feels more date-y anyway.

We’re tearing apart his rhetoric because it’s not true. The reasons wages in the USA have increased linearly while cost of living has increased exponentially is almost entirely due to the government, socialized/federal programs, and what comes with technological advancement. The only homemakers in history were the wealthy, or in the 20th century, wives of men who were at least middle class. Poor and working class women have been working since the beginning of civilization. Even poor kids worked,…

That’s really not how economics works...women flooded the workforce in droves during wartime while the men were away, and that’s what flipped the switch for middle class women. Even in the past, women worked as nurses, schoolteachers, doctors and pediatricians, things you’d consider “women’s work” today has pretty much always been “women’s work”. Prior to that, poor women have always been working alongside or separate to their husbands on farms, in trades, and in factories. The young kids were m…

I wrote for PUA blogs for a couple years (I’m female). I don’t consider it toxic masculinity. It’s not even masculine, it’s not how traditional men acted, it’s not how typical men act, it’s a fringe group’s game, and the same advice works with the sexes reversed. Some feminist’s opinion on youtube holds as much ground as mine does. Your psychology today article fell apart. You can’t even state your own viewpoint well, I don’t know how you expect us to change your view if you don’t even understan…

You haven’t read your article very well at all. All it says is “research suggests that benevolent sexism is related to the subordination of women”. There’s no numbers, no stats, nothing included beyond that statement. I can understand the premise but there’s a huge difference between “I’m going to pay for this lady’s meal” and “Women don’t deserve the right to vote”. Without proof, the statement is meaningless. You can say “research suggests” but that’s a huge leap to make when the definition co…

This article refers to benevolent sexism, not toxic masculinity. Benevolent sexism is the kind of sexism women can take advantage of and “win” in the situation, like getting men to pay for her to do things for her. Obviously we can see that some women like free stuff from guys. Toxic masculinity is overtly expressing romance through physical power, rage, suppressing anything you might see as a “weakness”...stuff like that. these men are fucked up, and usually only attract women with similar emot…

Post the relevant studies that prove “women desire toxic masculinity”. All I’ve found is that women like masculine looking and confident/social men. That’s not toxic masculinity, that’s just straight people acting like functional humans.

Short is familiar to me. My dad is 5’3” and my mom 5’6”. I’m 5’4”, current guy is close to my height. My dad’s family consists of incredibly short people, and my mom’s family is tall/average height. I don’t care for white guys either, but my family also isn’t white. I definitely prefer people who look like me. I want my children to have my features. Your statement is equivalent to me saying “But men all worship Victoria’s Secret models! That’s what they like!” The average person is content with …

I agree 100% with this. Relationships seem so shallow and conditional, but with friendships, you can really be yourself and be loved. I stopped dating when I broke up with my high school bf willingly, I just don’t enjoy traditional romantic relationships. Friends with benefits situations are so fulfilling.

What do anti-aging creams matter? Women wear all sorts of things because they like them. I don’t shave, I know it makes me repulsive to a lot of men, but I don’t give a shit. My personal habits are for me, and me only. We know we age, we try to take care of our skin so we can feel our best, but that’s for us. Most women couldn’t give a rats ass about a random man’s opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/18 04:51 AM

Most women don’t care about men the way you care about most women. I can go my entire life without thinking about the sex-reversed version of what you just said.

We are all aware that older people are less attractive overall. Aging isn’t the end of life though! To most women, we don’t care enough about male attraction to obsess over the inevitable. I’m 22 and welcome aging, and the experience life will bring with it. It’s natural, and I (like most healthy functioning people) just don’t care.

The only people I’ve ever seen mention the wall on their own are red pillers. Never seen a feminist bring up this topic. Being bp myself, it’s not a topic I believe in/care about enough to talk about on my own, save for a discussion like this one.

I think those statistics might be a little goofed up. Just because you think a man is unattractive, doesn’t mean he is to all women. Women aren’t a hive mind and find different traits attractive. I happen to love short guys.

To me, connection doesn’t have to be romantic. It could be more like friendship. I find it pretty easy to care about and connect with people, and as a result I haven’t had sex with anyone I haven’t felt something of a connection with.

Do what you want. It sounds like you're unhappy working. Would you be happier starting a family, or even being a SAHM/wife? If so, pursue that. Don't let anyone's opinions sway you. There's no such thing as "post wall", and there's nothing wrong with being a stay at home mom or career woman. Just listen to your desires and figure out what truly is right for you.

This is so so so untrue...it's creepy to approach a stranger's kid out of nowhere. It's socially acceptable to ask to pet someone's puppy, it's weird as hell to go up to a stranger and ask to hold their baby.

I think that men are becoming less attractive (for relationships) to women because of how society is changing. Go back 50 years, dating was super important. It was super important and deeply ingrained in society that you're in a serious relationship with hopes for marriage upon exiting high school, and god forbid you being single any older than that. It was incentivized societally for both men and women, since raising children was seen as something that had to happen, marriage had to happen (or …

Online dating is interesting to me. I've had one successful hookup from it in the past 3 years. It seems to be a way most people my age (22) are meeting their sex partners or new SOs. I'm pretty ambivalent to it, I'm currently seeing someone I actually met in person the old fashioned way.

I don’t think that’s it. My mom is taller than my dad (5’6” to his 5’3”) and they’ve been together since they were 15, and are happy! I’ve been with men shorter than me (I’m 5’5”) and never once have I even thought about it. I think height is associated with “maleness” and that’s why most women prefer tall men, because most men are taller than most women. It’s like a signal for a healthy adult male mate.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/18 03:27 AM

I’m in my early 20s and prefer clean faced/boyish looking men. Preferably around my age or a little younger. Beards aren’t my thing at all. I would feel bad asking a romantic partner to shave but looking back, I’ve never had any involvement with any bearded men. Tattoos are something I’m ambivalent to. I’ve never been involved with a guy with tattoos either.

I don’t get hit on, I’m 21 and fit, but I have a baby face, acne scarring, and a wrestler’s body. I’m probably a 5/10. I don’t put much effort into my hair or makeup because I don’t care enough to. A lot of people assume I’m a lesbian when we first meet, and men seem to naturally gravitate towards being my friend instead of hitting on me. I still get laid though, as ugly as I may be people are into it, I just have to work a little harder!

I’ve had a lot of sex. I’m an extremely high libido person, and am glad that I had the opportunity to craft my skills in bed. My partners were all pretty chill people and I can’t remember a time when I didn’t get off. I haven’t had any negative experiences so I have to say I regard my sleeping around as pretty positive. I think getting to know a lot of people intimately has helped me to become a more understanding person. As well as a better lover, I’ve been told good things :)

A lot of girls on tinder just want to hookup. Just like guys! People on tinder realize that the probability of them finding a meaningful, serious relationship from there is pretty low, so that’s not what most people are on there for. Usually women are looking for the hottest hookup they can land.

I think men think that women care a lot more about their sexual attractiveness than they actual do. Unless you’re a woman who has skated through life on beauty and nothing more, becoming more unattractive with age isn’t going to bother you. Everyone gets ugly, everyone goes grey, gets wrinkles, gets flabby. Men and women do at the same time, we’re made out of the same stuff biologically, and gravity and time don’t give a shit what sex you are. Sure, looks are more “important” in women, and men c…

Usually, when adults are in a relationship, they delegate tasks. This is part of being in a mature relationship. Usually these things aren’t exhausting, they come up, are dealt with, and people move on.

I don’t see “how many/what kind of/how quickly do you/ people did you sleep with” as an adult conversation. Truthfully, coming from someone who is an an adult and out of college and hangs out with other adult men and women beyond college age...nobody really cares about who has slept with who anymore. Maybe if you’re drunk and giggly on a girls’ night, but for that it’s just more of a lighthearted topic and I’ve never experienced it. I haven’t been asked about my n-count since early college. I ha…

I’m a pretty big fan of tinder. I’ve picked up a few women on it (I’m also a woman) but it’s not easy. I’m also below average attractiveness! My good looking male friends have done well on it but my below average male friends struggle more, they’ll occasionally have success though. And that’s just the ones on tinder, I find in person dating/hooking up works a lot better.

I have never met any of these women you speak of. In my circle it seems to be the opposite, I have a few “sex is the most meaningful thing you can do and the best gift you could ever give anyone” types and they’re anti hookup culture, and frown upon prostitution and porn. I myself am pro casual sex and pro prostitution/porn, given that the sex work is done safely and legally, which sometimes cannot be guaranteed in certain places. Other than high number of sexual partners, gossip and drama. If I see a guy my age acting like a middle schooler, there’s nothing more unattractive.

Men and women alike are emotionally driven, naive, and like to think that they’re individually special enough to change others’ minds. You see people grow out of this, especially beyond college age, but some people never mature. This kind of foolishly sticking around in hopes that someone realizes that you’re a “treasure” worth waiting for is an attitude most prominent in young people. Mature people know what they want and don’t fool around.

I’ve never had anyone ask for numbers. I’ve had every new partner and I get tested before we do anything so it’s more of a “hey, I have this rule, i make sure my partner and I get an STI screen before any sex” and no one has ever met that with any apprehension.

If you want to succeed socially, and/or professionally, treat those women just like you’d treat men in their position. You don’t want to call your female coworker a fag like you would to your male best friend, but you wouldn’t do that to a male coworker in a professional setting, either. Many women appreciate crudeness, many men can’t handle dark humor. Go about this on an individual basis, friendship by friendship. You’re right, everyone has the freedom to care or not to care about factors like that. I think obsessing over it like some men I’ve seen do in this sub is unusual and unrealistic though, I’ve never even been asked about my sexual past by any guys I’ve dated. My parents were both overly concerned about me being chaste, I turned out to be a huge slut anyway. I think that may be dependent on culture or region. I have a lot of male friends I’m close with, some are attractive, some are average, and some I’d say are pretty unattractive. How on earth is the sexual marketplace of 15-28 year old men invisible? I’d agree with teenagers being undesirable to anyone who isn’t a teenage girl or a pedophile, but 21-28 year old men are in their “wild young phase” and 28 seems to be the age where a switch flips in mens’ heads and they begin to look for something more consistent. Honestly I couldn’t tell which one was the mother and which one was the daughter. They both look ambiguously in their late 20s-30s.

Average looking woman checking in. I’m 21, thin, and short. Pale olive skin, round face, gigantic Roman nose, Asian eyes, square jaw, frizzy brown hair. Cute features on their own, but as a combination, not good on me. I’ve been told I’m strange looking and I would agree. I also have a very masculine body shape and appearance. I can’t relate with the special treatment experienced by beautiful women. I can pass for male without much effort, so I believe that I am seen as “one of the boys”. Never …

I absolutely love casual sex. I don’t like the commitment of having a boyfriend or a serious relationship, and I’m attracted to variety, so I usually have 1-2 friends with benefits over the course of 1-2 years. It’s a great arrangement, and I can honestly say I’ve never had bad sex. I’ve never had a ONS, it seems awfully risky to me, I’m afraid of getting an STD and have had all my partners and I get tested before we have sex for the first time. I am currently casually dating someone (I think it…

I believe that as long as the partners are similar in that category, there is a lower chance for it to be a source of conflict or issues. However, I have a lot more sexual experience than the guy I’m currently dating, and he says he views it as another positive aspect of dating me. I love being able to teach him things and being his firsts, on the flipside.

Can agree, all of the douchey frat boys are all very well dressed, have nice athletic bodies, and decent looking faces.

As a woman speaking, I would not want to “need” a man. Needing a man implies dependence and that requires extra vulnerability, neither of which I’d want. I’d rather want a man for sex and companionship and take care of everything else myself. I don’t think there’s anything a romantic partner could provide for me outside of sex and companionship that I would “need”.

There is a step by step manual, and a dual jack and tire iron in nearly every vehicle. Hearing that people can’t change their own tires is pathetic.

Never. I am not sexy, I have a very square, thin body and a masculine face. I’ve never been accused of flirting, never been hit on in a public situation, just the kind of appearance and demeanor I have.

I’m going to be crucified for saying this but in my experience, women are more easygoing and forgiving than men. If you upset a woman, she’ll get mad and cool off later, you’ll make up and things will go on. If you upset a man, he takes it a lot more personally and there’s a higher chance of a nasty fight or even a friendship ruined. I’ve noticed that when my female friends talk crap about another girl, there will be a petty argument that doesn’t last and the girls will make up and be friends ag…

Happiness is such an individual thing. I don’t think women or men as groups are happy or unhappy really, everything is very individual and related to circumstances, some can be, some cannot be controlled. Me personally, as a woman? I’m unhappy at the moment, but this comes from recently being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and feeling sick makes me unhappy, another extremely individual circumstance that could happen to anyone. Until I fell sick, my work and social life had me on top of th…

So you’re saying to watch what guys do, and ignore what they say, when it comes to dating? Lots of girls have curly or wavy hair. I’ve never seen my buddy with a girl with straight hair. He’s young and in shape and average looking in the face, so he can afford to be a little choosy.

Nearly all of my male friends have ridiculous standards that rival the ridiculousness of my female friends. I think everyone is entitled to their own standards, whether they’re ridiculous or not, but my buddy said tonight that he’s “Not attracted to women with very straight hair”. I should mention that my friends are all young and attractive, college aged, and are able to date and hookup with women when they’re interested. It seems that everyone I’ve met has some sort of feature to be picky abou…

I think it’s partially a revenge fantasy. Being attractive is hard, even in youth, most people are average at best, and everyone worsens with age. I think a lot of these men ignore the fact that they’re attracting women who are interested in their money or status (gold digging is definitely a thing) and mental gymnastics themselves into believing they’re sexy. Which they’re not, but plenty of people aren’t above sucking old cock for having everything they want paid for. All of us humans are all …

I don’t think monogamy is something we have an instinct for, but more of something imposed on us so we could be civilized. I think monogamy feels unnatural and forced for a lot of people (and there’s so much stigma behind cheating and infidelity that no one will admit this) and that is why we have so much cheating and the typical form of relationship is serial monogamy for both sexes.

You’re incorrect, and here are the statistics. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_disparity_in_sexual_relationships Over 33% of all American couples have the man and woman within ONE year of age of each other. Almost 70% have both partners within 5 years of each other.

There’s less of a social stigma against single motherhood, and less pressure/interest in marriage, save for the wealthy and educated. People are always going to have sex, the social changes just result in less marriage and the same amount of babies.

I’ve posted a similar response to a similar question in another thread on here. I’m a 21 year old women and I’ve never been physically attracted to anyone over 28/29. Men age just like women do, just like humans do, and 40 looks like 40 on pretty much everyone. I have quite a few good female friends my age and none of them date significantly older men. Even someone who is 26 or 27 is “too old” for my 22 year old friends. I said it once and I said it again...except to a small minority who likes a…

That’s why I don’t apply it. I think personality theory is bogus, individual people are so variable and unique, generalizations don’t hold much value for me. I’m an engineer by trade, I will never have a use for personality theory or attachment theory, so it will never be important to me.

Unfortunately tattoos are forever, no matter how people change when they grow up, save for laser removal. Until I’m confronted with actual evidence other than a psychologist saying “This is real because of _____ correlation” in an extremely broad field, I will forever take personality theory with a grain of salt. I spent a fair amount of time looking into attachment theory and personality theory and found nothing very powerful about it.

The Big Five psychological personality theory is a vague, flawed, way of classification. Psychology itself is a soft science, and very little of it is based in anything other than correlations. I think personality theory in general is along the same characterization as astrology, but that’s a conversation for another time. That being said, I don’t think it’s liberals necessarily having more tattoos, it’s young people. I grew up in an incredibly conservative area, many of the young people had tat…

I’m not surprised with the statistics, but for me, tattoos are something I judge as a person-by-person basis. I think artsy, well-done tattoos can be quite attractive on both men and women, and I think there’s a huge difference between a guy covered in prison tats versus an arts student with well-done sleeves. I live in an extremely liberal urban area, and most young men and women here have tattoos. The majority of these are very tasteful, and if you’re into hipster men (I love me some hipster d…

Freedom to choose also includes freedom to suffer the consequences of one’s choices. Why so bitter and opinionated about something that doesn’t even affect you (I’m assuming you’re not a woman)?

Degenerate is also a characteristic rooted in emotion and opinion, what’s valid for you is not valid for everyone. We can agree to disagree on what we think is interesting.

I think TRP attitudes are almost exclusively reactionary, and here’s my backup for that statement: Show me a man who has had average success with women and hasn’t been burned by a woman, who is comfortable with his identity as a man, and subscribes to TRP principles. You won’t. I used to write for a pickup artist blog and posed online as a 30 year old man. I spoke to many guys, they’re all frustrated and have low self esteem from countless rejections. I even have some friends I’ve met in real li…

That’s a lot of assumptions for you to make, I don’t know where you’re coming from with this victim stuff. On my family, to say that they probably do hate some people, or feel like a woman who deviates outside the tradition role is “evil”, would be a correct statement. Normal, hardworking Americans can still be hateful. I still love my family but can recognize they have harsh views, and have picked what I would like to believe for myself. I never said anything about society, my personal experien…

Use of words such as “disgusting” and “worthless” do show that you feel, and feel very strongly about this topic. I’d wager to say you feel much more strongly than I even do, when I use words related to interest (fascinating/interesting), and you use words pertaining to revulsion. We have nothing to offer besides our personal experiences. You can believe your “opinion” (grounded your emotions) has more gravity, but it doesn’t to anyone but yourself.

I can agree with that, feeling superior to someone because of sex is abhorrent, whoever is doing it. If you would put sexism (towards women) and misogyny in different categories, what would an example of each look like?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/18 05:56 AM
5

I would say they’re related. Sexism is defined as discrimination based on sex, viewing another person as below you or incapable of something just because of their sex, I would put into the same box as hating someone. It’s not the same thing, of course, I’m sure most sexists don’t want women to die, they just want them to stay in the kitchen! I think viewing others as below you due to characteristics such as sex is vile and outdated, in itself, a hateful act.

The most interesting thing about polyamory is the colorful reactions people like you have to it. The linguini story is 10/10.

Here I go again with my personal anecdote disclaimer...this is all my personal experience, I can’t speak for all women. I’m a young woman and very archetypically masculine. Most of the pure misogyny I’ve experienced (Pure sexism, like “you can’t do this because you’re a woman”, not schoolhouse bullying) has come from men, and my conservative family. Sure women will call each other whores (never happened to me) but I’ve had men tell me that my interest in automotive stems from trying to impress m…

I feel like most of us would be polyamorous if we were all hot and had the time for it. I still think it’s fascinating, it’s also okay for you to think it’s completely degenerate and that you understand all of it though. To each our own, here and beyond.

I can only speak anecdotally from my own, and my friends’ experiences. Young women are not sexually attracted to older men. This seems to be the rule, and I have not encountered an exception in my lifetime. Now, young women will date older men, but there is usually an underlying reason, plenty of gold diggers or status seekers do this, some women genuinely like the personalities of older men, but the average 35 year old man is not as sexually attractive as the average 25 year old. Outside of sex…

You’re talking about a specific scenario that pertains to an imaginary college student, this excludes a large part of the population. High libido women are very common, as are low libido men. Humans are so individually varied that making a sweeping generalization based on biological sex won’t do you any good. There is no norm for human sexuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/18 01:48 AM

Funny thing is, some women are like this, and many men aren’t like this at all. I’m a HL woman and in my late teens/early 20s, a guy in tight joggers was enough to send my head spinning. Likewise, I had a boyfriend who had such a low libido sex once a week was enough for him. This varies so much on a personal level.

I’ve only been told this by my friend’s grandma. I’m an ugly girl too. I’m sure it happens to others more than myself, my theory is that it is a good-intentioned interaction, practiced by either old grandmas, or adult men who completely lack self awareness.
