I would think left wing means pretty much anything left of center, right?

I agree with most of this post except for the use of the word stoic/stoicism. What you're describing is not being stoic. Other than that, it hits a lot of really good points.

What I want to see/check, assuming it comes to the floor for a vote, is how many women congressmembers vote against. I feel like there will definitely be some.

Well....that fucking blows. I know that if this happened in the US that I would be calling and writing every damn House member and Senator in vocal opposition and telling them my story of being an IPV survivor. Hopefully you have the same there, and can stop this in its tracks.

Given that this is from the minority party, what are the chances of it actually passing? Is it a political stunt to try to put the majority party on the hook for a no vote? In a way, it's good that they are laying out this ridiculous take. Hopefully they get push back on it from all sides.

Yes, it is both, but studies have shown male corporate assholes are more likely to rely on dark triad traits and women corporate assholes are more likely to rely on emotional intelligence manipulation.

There are laws for libel and slander, which you can use civil courts to address.

I know what indirect means, lmao Everything you're describing men do too. And there is no statistical indication that women prefer those things over physical violence. Hence my question to the original comment. Data shows that women are almost as physically violent as men, some experts think more so as men are less likely to report, and when they are extremely violent, tend to use weapons of some sort. I disagree with the base level assertion. Women are just as physically violent as men. Both us…

I wouldn't say false allegations are hidden and addressed those. Gossiping/reputational damage aren't exactly hidden either, and there are legal civil means to address those if they are malicious and can be quantified. I am not sure what you're meaning by crocodile tears here/how that applies. That's not to say I disagree with you on that, just not sure exactly what you're meaning as it relates to the other comment. Not really following on violence by proxy either, at least as far as it being so…

Ironically, the women that thrive in a corporate world also tend to be ruthless and cold blooded (either dark triad traits, or more likely, using emotional intelligence as a manipulation weapon).

I am going to push back some on violent acts by women being covert, invisible, etc. A couple of examples: A woman being physically violent with her partner in all the ways a man can be with a partner happens nearly as much as the other. In some ways, the violence can be worse because it is more frequently weaponized (i.e. actually using some for of weapon) than when a man uses violence in a relationship. The laws and response to this should be no different. Intentional false allegations, when pr…

I appreciate most of their takes here. I didn't like that they got into an argument on the whole divorce stat thing as I didn't feel like they were being any better in their commentary than the person that paid to bring it up. More than anything, I think the clip they showed at the beginning of the show makes me want to go see more of what Joshua Doss has said on all of this. He spoke pretty eloquently about it.

As an IPV survivor, I find that describing in detail the violence you have experienced tends to shut that down pretty quickly. I don't believe we should dismiss or accept without question either way. As far as legal courts, we have due process for a reason. As far as the court of public opinion...well, that's a entirely different story, and there's a lot of biased people out there. Not much you can do about that besides speak your truth loudly and clearly, which sucks, but the more that men do i…

If I am ever in a conversation like this, I tend to just go back at them with actual statistics. Everything from, when combined, men reporting being raped and made to penetrate nearly equals women reporting rape, that IPV of women over men is nearly equal to the other way around, and most experts in the field think that is extremely under reported due to things like the Duluth model and fear of being persecuted even though they're the actual victim, that if you actually take into account women h…

As a survivor of IPV, I would love to see OP's response to this. The Duluth Model literally perpetuates violence against men by women as okay and justifies it. It gets worse though. In the model, a woman can never be the abuser, and the man always is, regardless of what actually happened. It is the basis of numerous other models and several states' laws surrounding IPV. And it is wholly ascribed to Feminism.

I'm not saying this will work, but I've done similar with other topics and it has to some extent. Try asking an AI search like chatgpt, and then when it comes back with the wrong stuff, tell it that it searched/found the wrong thing, and correct it. You might have to do this several times to get anywhere. When/if it finds something that aligns with your intent, reference that back to it to find more of the same/similar.

Fair enough. That's why I couched that part by saying it could be wrong. I tend to stay out of that realm for the most part, so my perspective is limited, because most of what I have seen with it does have a red pill vibe. But even without that, I think it is the zero sum game that I take issue with more and has seemed more prevalent in those circles. That's the biggest reason I have never called myself a feminist even though almost everyone in my varying circles do consider themselves that. I a…

Personal perspective (i.e. not trying to define it outside of that): I believe in advocating for equality and equity wherever data shows that it is lacking. That is regardless of sex, gender, orientation, race, etc. It turns out that men are shit on a lot and that is ignored. It's also true that there are still areas where women lack equity. I believe we should be advocating across the board on all of it. As far as the left-wing part, there's a significant amount of politics, values, and ideolog…

I am doing nothing of the kind. I am saying they should be left out of it entirely. Focus on the salient points of discrimination against men, and that's it. You're essentially allowing yourself to be pulled into a discussion that shouldn't even be happening (which is exactly what the people writing these articles are wanting), and is being used as a distraction from the bigger problem of conscription being forced upon men, and men not being equally protected by the EU.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/06/26 10:54 PM

I don't think trans people needed to be brought up at all to make salient points in the essay. And you actually answered it yourself in your essay: "What was that one simple trick? The answer: don’t be a man." And just stop the essay there. Much more powerful that way. The rest of it is just completely uneccessary and distracts from everything else you wrote.

Let's not forget the psychological torture of being threatened with a false accusation and knowing that if an accusation is made, you're pretty much fucked even though you're being the one abused.

That reads like a copycat of the Duluth model, which unfortunately, is still used in a lot of pubic realms. Thankfully though, there are quite a few people that have argued back against it, and its use has been in steady decline for years. People need to push back against the model you posted just the same. Both are also openly stated to use feminist theory. As an IPV survivor, that alone makes me reject feminism as biased.

According to the Duluth model, this is true. For those that don't know, the Duluth model is the twisted idea that women can't be violent and can't abuse their partners because if they're being violent, then it is because a man was violent/abusive first, and the women's violence was in self defense...always.

Yeah, I think you do everything honestly in putting yourself out there. Assuming you're ready to date. Be on apps, join events that have your interests, etc. Because when you know yourself and what you want and are also not letting BS get through, well, you get kinda picky. Just have those tools in your belt to assess whether someone is putting on a facade/puts you at risk while also still be open to dating. And just no reason to force anything. The law is different for each state. That's why I said in most states. You can't just look at your state and assume that is what it is for all states. Hell, Nebraska doesn't even consider you an adult until you are 19. Also bear in mind that age of consent and what is considered statutory can be different dependent on the age differences of the parties involved.

17 is a minor in pretty much every way, legally, mentally, emotionally. And while some 17 year olds are more mature, we do have to have legally defined lines, and one of those being that, at least in most states, 18 is considered adulthood. They started dating while he was 17 still, and assuming that they were sexually active prior to him turning 18 (with her being 7 years older), that is statutory rape in the eyes of the law of most states. Yeah, it's mostly terminally online people that are being asses. That said, her statement was a bit suspect with all of the victim narrative building and talking out both sides of her mouth. And yeah, the ages for when they got together are suspect as well. I don't think the age gap necessarily is a problem (as in older folks with both being adults with a 7 year gap isn't a big deal), but he was a minor at the time and should have still been figuring himself out.

At the very end of the study, the authors discuss its limitations and suggest that it should point to, and they call for, further and more nuanced research on the topic. They also state that one of the limitations, while attempting to account for it, is essentially a lack of honesty from respondents, and they believe the numbers are under reported. The study literally states that they rated it "positively." "Our participants also rated the extent to which they could imagine a situation in which they would make a(nother) false claim in the future—101 (39.6%) of them rated this item positively" I have no idea what's going on with you to pointlessly be splitting semantic hairs on this, but it's pretty ridiculous to be doing so.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates24/05/26 04:46 PM

You are pointlessly splitting hairs. Almost 40% of the women surveyed thought it would be just fine to make a false accusation. That number is insane regardless of how you phrase it (positively, happily, just fine, any other variation you want). And that doesn't even get to the fact that the study also showed that 7% said that they had already made a false accusation, and the researchers believed that number to be under reported due to honesty bias.

Edit: Misread the table, but average score for machiavellianism is above 50, which I don't think makes it any better. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/354490187_Lies_and_imagined_intent_to_lie_Personality_sexism_beliefs_and_false_claims_of…

Whether you agree or disagree on it being ideology, it is still far from being generational. There are substantial number of men in the generations you point to that do not adhere to those ideas of masculinity, or would even think to consider calling those things masculine. As to younger men, there's actually been a heavy shift of a significant number of Gen Z men towards "traditional" masculinity, in some ways, even more than millennials. Survey data backs that up. Book 6 HBP, she conjures canaries and sets them to attack him. Book 7 DH, when he returns after leaving them, she attacks and repeatedly hits him. I didn't get through the article fully because it wasn't worth my time. But generally speaking, it seemed like the author went out of their way to create an unbalanced list for review (e.g. quotes a complaint about Beyonce and Swift songs, and then doesn't review any Beyonce or Swift songs) and some of assessments of misogyny were...suspect at best, and even when the author openly stated that the lyrics weren't directly misogyny used it as evidence of misogyny while at the same time trying to gi…

Yes. This is a really really summarized position of it, but it basically states that in any IPV situation, the man in the situation is viewed as the perpetrator regardless of what has actually occurred, and that they (the man) needs rehabilitated, and that women only use violence as a victim of violence/in self defense, thereby making the man the perpetrator in all cases. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duluth_model

This is more about tactics than anything: With that many against you, and with the topic being feminism, you're going to have to be very aware of the debate tactic called gish gallop. This is where they will overload you with noise: essentially a bunch of semi true/semi false claims all at once that sound good on the surface, but can be disproven.
