Could definitely be a factor. From what I understand, however, the increase in male loneliness isn't just for dating or romantic/sexual relationships, but close friendships as well. Younger people, regardless of gender, are having less relationships and spending less time with other people than they used to. Internet usage is linked to this. It's not surprising, then, that men who rely on online dating would feel jaded or limited in their prospects. The demographic imbalance people have already …

If what you say is true—that most men mainly only have standards for appearance—you are offering yourself an explanation for why women can't find guys they like. That kind of sentiment (no matter how honest or well-intentioned) often makes women feel like objects. That they are interchangable with any other similarly attractive woman, or they are only valued by their partner for their body. When looking for a long term partner, that's a reasonable deal breaker.

Something to think about is why just talking with you would be an emotionally disturbing experience for them? Doing an activity on a first date is a good idea for a lot of people, because it lends itself better to natural conversation. Being manipulative is basically the opposite of that end.

Thanks for replying. Very interesting. Do you think your perspectives are related to RP in any way? (Could be how RP connects to them, or maybe they are what draw you to RP in the first place). I’ve seen a lot of RPers not be fans of welfare, but of course a lot of people who don’t like welfare are also not involved in RP. Do you have any insight into how these things are (or aren’t) connected?

Not sure if this is a “women” thing. There are societal expectations that make being in a relationship, evidence of “maturity.” I’ve seen teenagers be ashamed of not having any experience at like 16. Definitely, this sort of thing affects women and men differently, since women are generally encouraged to be mostly celibate (obviously depends on your background) whereas a lot of men’s confidence is tied to “getting laid.” Arguably the reverse side of this same dynamic is dudes on here complaining…

Just to clarify, you are favorable/neutral towards socialism (and very opposed to welfare state?) Also, how does playing God fit into this? I’m assuming you’re talking about idealism?

Thanks for the comment. If I can ask, what does “a place where women are better” mean/look like? I understand that what that means for you is not going to be representative of RP as a whole (or even influenced by it) but I’m trying to get a sense of the “breadth” of what RPers might think.

I would generally agree. A lot of content on social media nowadays is "softcore porn" in the sense that, even though there's no explicit sexual content, the viewer ends up being a voyeur onto this desirable, idealized body/lifestyle. Even outside the realms of thirstraps, so much influencer content is "aspirational" in the same way many people watch porn they "wish" they could enact themselves. In terms of self-esteem and expectations on others, it all comes down to people spending way to much t…

“The question here is “is it working?”” What makes RP work for you? And to your “What?” I realize my phrasing here was pretty vague (somewhat intentionally). The way I see it, the things RP describes aren’t untrue, they just aren’t biological universals. Many women and men do behave that way, but many also don’t. Obviously if you believe all this stuff is biologically determined, my question is nonsensical. But supposing it isn’t: why not work on building a counterculture and finding people that…

I’m just curious, what did you believe before RP that made you feel unfree? And if you have specifics, what elements of RP are most liberating?

Is it reality? For many people (myself included) 80/20 and AF/BB seem just as detached from reality as you may think feminism is. I don't think I know any women personally who's behavior could be described by these ideas. Obviously that doesn't represent all women everywhere, but social circles do exist where RP logics don't apply. Isn't it possible to be strategic about dating without giving up on your ideals of companionship?

I've seen several RPers describe taking the pill as similar to grief, or even horror. They had earlier hopes for love and companionship that were dashed by the Red Pill, or ig, the Red Pill showed them those hopes were completely unattainable. I understand the appeal of what you describe, though. But even with the sense of freedom, do you ever wish that wasn't the case? Would responsibility be worth it if it meant reciprocal love and companionship was attainable?

Why are fat women biologically less desirable then? Enough for it to be as much a comparable edge case as being attracted to poodles. Personally, I've seen plenty of fat men and women in relationships. Would be pretty hard not to considering the demographics of the US. If you have sources, it would be helpful to know what biological metrics are being referenced.

A fat girl wants to believe that it was hollywood that convinced men not to find them attractive. Not millions of years of innate evolution telling them "a fat partner is a bad partner". The Red Pill likes to point out "hey biology matters even if you don't like it". But this isn't biology. Human attraction is not just biologically mediated. People from all over the world have always found fat women attractive, just not all of them (and, sure, sometimes not most of them). The factors were biolog…

I'm assuming you mean to ask "if sex-negative feminism isn't widespread, why are there many countries where buying sex is illegal?" To preface, I'm not super familiar with these issues outside the US. Beforehand, I knew these countries used a "decriminalize selling, criminalizing buying" stance on sex work, but I looked more into how that worked. To put it simply, these countries are not broadly "sex-negative." In fact, (from what I understand) attitudes about sex in Europe are generally more re…

Traditional/religious groups often do have more kids. My point is that religion is not the only factor affecting birthrates. Overall population growth is when the average birthrate is over 2.1 kids per woman. This means there will be plenty of women who have more kids, and plenty of women who have less. In post-industrial countries, more and more people are less religious, so what you are describing could be a contributing factor. To your point of "most people have the most power," this is not n…

Is what your describing as real as you say it is? Look around. How many people do you see married, have been married, in a relationship. How many of them fit the beauty standard you describe, men and women? If you are really only seeing a specific type of man get all the attention, this might be a bigger reflection of your social circle than society as a whole.

The plummeting birthrate we see in so many developed/post-industrial countries is not just because feminists aren't having kids. (Feminists are having kids, and feminism isn't, in general, anti-marriage or anti-natalist). This is a pattern across the world. Developing countries have high birthrates (look to India or China a few decades ago, look to sub-Saharan Africa now), industrial countries see them start to level off (China now), and post-industrial countries see a decline. Now it is true th…

I'm not going to argue with you that women that are against these things exist: they do. (Though not in as signifcant numbers as this post implies, mainstream feminism right now is arguably sex-positive). I do want to question this idea of sex-negative feminism. Sex-negative feminists (and SWERFs, though these aren't always the same group) have existed long before the age of sex-bots and OF. Arguably, this branch of feminism emerged as a rejection of a sex-marketplace system. Women felt they wer…

There are lots of reasons why so many people have uninvolved fathers. Men have higher rates of incarceration. Men often work more. Women are often expected to take a bigger role in child care/domestic life. Men can walk out of a pregnancy much easier than a woman can... etc. And studies have shown that when women make more economic contributions, they spend less time with their kids, and that fathers are often more involved than mothers in certain aspects childcare. And some people are just bad/…
