And you base this diagnosis on? Your years as a practicing mental health professional?, Also, was it just some coincidence that his expressed thoughts were so close to socially accepted ones? He didn't kill people because he thought they were slaves to our reptilian overlords. He killed people because he thought himself "the supreme gentlemen" and entitled to women. This belief isn't a rare one, the degree of it may have been; but he didn't pull it out of thin air.

Wait, what? Huh? Which hashtag? What cause? This shooting happened because someone felt entitled to women's bodies and was furious that women weren't throwing themselves at him. This belief doesn't always end in mass murder, but it does end in harassment, abuse, rape, and misogyny.

He killed men because he felt he believed women were his property and that other men were basically stealing them from him. Men hurt each other all the time out of misogyny. The church mutilated the genitals of young boys rather than let women sing in churches. Would you argue that that was actually misandry?

That argument would hold more water if there weren't people in these nations fighting for equality. The idea that feminism in other nations is the result of the imposition of Western feminism is denying the agency of people in those nations and is massively condescending. I don't necessarily think working towards global justice, economic justice, or racial justice is antithetical to working towards gender equality. When considering which issues on which to focus, it is possible to acknowledge the larger difficulties faced by poor men, men of color, gay or trans men, and men in poorer nations.
