It's largely not. I went through great lengths to ensure my assets were protected. I went through a division of assets once about 6-7 years ago and learnt my lesson. With the way I have things structured, and how little knowledge she has of it, it would be very difficult for her to fight me. I also know she doesn't have the money for a good lawyer, and even if she did, or one takes the job on commission, I would fight to the last penny and she would still leave with nothing. Just extra trouble. …

I do have the ring. I'm going to give it back to her once she signs off on everything though. I don't want it and the depreciation is atrocious.

I do have multiple trusts and companies, all quite protected. Even to a reasonable lawyer, it would be a tough battle. It's also easier for me as she has no idea how much money I have, or where it is. My lawyers are not in the least bit worried.

I'm actually up in Canada. Up here, so long as you both have seperate legal council and take all the proper steps with a prenup, they're pretty hard to break. My lawyers aren't even concerned about it.

I drained all accounts and put all assets into the company. I do not have to disclose financials until requested, and I disclose them as of that day (so that money is gone). She also has no clue what she's looking for. She never had any knowledge as to how much money I have. Just that there was enough to make the payments and not worry.

Incorrect. That home is protected in the prenup. Technically the family home is one of the rentals. And they're all rented! Can't kick them out with no notice = nowhere to go. It never ceases to surprise me how many people on here think they're lawyers. I happen to have an above average knowledge of the law in my province, believe me when I say I don't have much to worry about in that regard.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
