Female Judge Says, "there would be people here hanging from the ceiling trying to get every drop of blood," if This Were a Male Teacher and a Female Student. I'm not going to argue semantics based on a technicality that in this country he cannot give consent due to his age. The obvious conflict of interest is that she was his teacher and so I am all for revoking her teaching license but you cannot jail away all of societies ills. Take away her teaching license, but not her life. I would feel differently if she had forced herself on him or it was violent in any way but that was not the case. I'm glad the judge wants to put an end to the double standard but I believe that 6-15 yrs in prison is far too long for consensual sex with someone 15 yrs old regardless of whether a man or a woman committed the crime. I would feel very differently if it were rape or the child was younger.
